My MIL was a big believer in mixing up a paste of tide laundry detergent and filling holes to keep mice out. Maybe try making a paste and putting it on the outside boards of the pump house. The mice won't eat the tide paste.

I’m sorry you guys had to deal with this during the Holiday season. Sending prayer’s that it’s just something small and they can fix it. I would put those wires in some sorta electrical pipe or PVC. Try putting some of that metal on the inside of your well house all around the bottom and bend it in half so half is going up the wall and half is connected to the bottom. That way they can’t chew their way in. I saw some people pile rocks along the outside after they line their buildings with mesh or metal to keep pests out. Thoserodents are such a menace always chewing stuff up. I can feel your pain 😢 We woke up Christmas morning and or refrigerator was dead. It’s about 6 years old and just passed the warranty period. This refrigerator came from our other home and it’s only 21cu ft which is small for a family but that’s the only size that would fit in other home. We had other things that we needed when we moved so we were just waiting and saving until next year. But we had to bite the bullet and buy a new one. So I ordered one online and hopefully it will be here on Saturday. Dang! There went our savings plus the food we had in the refrigerator. 🥺🤷‍♀️Not something that I wanted to happen on Christmas but Thank God we weren’t hosting this year. I was depressed all day but I tried to put a smile on my face then I started thinking things could be so much worse. My family is safe and healthy and that’s all that matters. Recently my daughters good friend, her husband, 16yr old daughter, 14yr old son and one 19yr old daughter were on their way to church the Sunday morning before Christmas and someone driving to fast hit their car and they all died except for the 19yr old daughter that’s in a medically induced coma right now. Just in the blink of an eye they are gone. It’s so sad. Stay safe God Bless🙏🏻

😮 Sorry about that well pump. 300 feet with 12 ga..wire is not good. That is a great distance for that small wire. Could be the tank is completely full of water and has no air space to make the pressure regular keep clicking.

Sorry to hear about the well. I remember when my Aunt/Uncle well dried up, they had to redrill for water, they did, but it sulfa water. They had to haul out water after that. It smelled so bad! I was shocked when I heard about it, happened after I moved to CA and got married. Bless their hearts, end up having to sell the farm anyway, cause my Uncles health turned bad and he couldn't do farming any more. So I can imagen, they had to make do with alot some of the time, and had an more at other times! Hope it's not the worse news for ya, Praying!
