Rickey you spoke a Word here.!!! I have a 23 year old Son and a 30 year old Daughter. I'am a Single Parent and I did everything for them. When they were young I made sure they had everything they wanted. I was there for every School Play they were in, and every Sports game they played. I bought them everything they wanted. It was like Christmas here all year long !!! I took them places like Zoos and Museums at least twice a Month. Now that they are grown I don't hear from them unless they want something.!!! I'am 62 years old and they don't even check on me on a regular basis to see if I'am still alive.!!! It's a hurtful feeling. Sometimes I just sit and cry about it !!!😪

But as long as I was supporting her and her kids, everything was fine. Hindsight is 20/20. Now that they're grown.....well, Rickey said it. My oldest daughter to this day at 31 yrs on and her 3 other kids later has nerve to say I never do nothing for her. She don't understand taking care of her child, my grandchild is doing something for her everyday. No appreciation at all. My granddaughter is now 12 and she smelling herself right now so the struggle is real raising her in this world today. Rickey! Single Mama's go through this too! Not just fathers, even tho I know men do not get enough credit for what they do. But you can do literally EVERYTHING for your child, and once my son hit 16 he forgot who I was, doesnt even ask how im doing, doesn't want to speak, doesn't say thank you, no appreciation. Like you said, its like you did something to them! I hope one day his mind changes when he's in his 20s and out of puberty or whatever, but it's hard to look forward to. Til this day, even tho my father didnt raise me, I call my dad often just to show appreciation for the man that helped create me. I moved my mama in my house after I moved to a safer city and bigger home, just to show appreciation for the woman that raise me all my life, so I really don't understand these kids. Everything i did in college was to come back and help my family, even if they never fully supported me, some of it is not even deserved but I feel like as the "child" , that is my duty. So I just don't understand why teens and young adults these days don't reciprocate the love for the people that help raise and support them. I often think about the kids who don't have parents that dont have anything or any support and wonder if they would accept me more than my own son.. it's just sad. I'm gonna hope for the best tho. He's still young and maybe has time to alter his thinking but it does hurt..and I do feel so very much for the parents, grandparents, caregivers that have sacrificed so much for their adult children 😰I wish I could hug you all for real. I couldn't even imagine.

Rickey, it's not only fathers/men that get that treatment. Mothers/aunties get the same from sons, daughters, nieces and nephews too. But I needed to hear your message to keep my heart soft. Rickey, you spoke a lot of truths in this video and thanks for sharing your story. I can relate to everything you stated instead of speaking from a “father’s perspective”. One statement I can honestly relate to is “the reality that people are not going to treat us how we would treat them”. I have been heartbroken and mistreated for the past fours years from FAMILY!!! I never thought I would experience what I did from my “BLOOD”,‘ people I trusted, people I loved, people I always respected, people I was loyal to…they hurt me to my core! So, I learned the hard way to stop expecting people to treat me how I treat them…💔

Tell the truth Rickey, My discernment is on point also, That is why I do not mess with most people, It looks like the more you do, The less they care, I think sometimes good people do way too much, My children do not check on me at all, I do not worry about it, Because I know that the Bible tells me that God loves me, That is all that matters to me, Love You Rickey

It’s that way with my father and my brothers. They only call him when they need something. As for me, my father would try to be in my life. In fact, I am loyal to my dad and never turned my back on him. My mother never talked bad about my father but my grandmother did. My mom wanted me and my sister to see how our dads was ourselves as adults. But I do remember my dad trying to pick me up to take me places as a little girl. When I was raised by my mother‘s mother, she would tell him she ain’t going nowhere with you. The only time he could see me is when I’m at my other grandma’s house which is his mom. That’s when he could take me places and my grandmother would allow it. I even called just to chat and shoot the breeze with my dad, and my stepmother who I love dearly. Not because she sends me money through cash app, I love her because she loves my father’s kids, and she loves my father. in fact when my mother was dying of cancer, she told my step mother to look after me if she ever dies. Well, my stepmother is doing just that. Thanks for expressing yourself and sharing this video with all of us fans of yours. Love you rickey.

Mr. Ricky, You are so right. I wonder is it this new generation. Even though we raise these kids the way we were raised, when they get older they don’t have the same respect, compassion, or loyalty we had for our elders. It’s insane. I did everything for my nephew and he has a birthday coming up he’ll be 32. He has nothing to do with me or his mother. I can count the times on one hand that he has called me. We raised him in complete love no abuse. I cried about this for years. Now I just gave him to God.

She was a cheerleader and I went to some games to support her. All my daughters life I always made sure she was aware of me being in her life. At this point her mother just stop speaking to me at all. And my daughter has chosen to do the same. And Que she’s my only child. If I don’t call her she’s not going to call me unless something mayor happens. Thanks for the uplift. It is what it is……

In general, having a good heart for others gets us used and underapreciated. We do it cause we love n care about the people we're willing to help, but doesn't take long to see that actions of those people can in alot of ways show a lack of appreciation for what we do for em. They're words might say thanks and may truly be thankful for the help, but they can't even do the smallest favor for us when we need it. Even if it's just taking out the trash and doing the dishes. Everyone just wants to take whatever is given, and not return the favor with simple acts of respect and then wanna act like your an asshole when you gotta get on em for not pulling their own weight. Makes it worse when your dating a chick who's got kids from a previous marriage that aren't biological yours so it's way out of line to whoop em like you would if they was your own kids. Im long out of that relationship now, and have learned my lesson lol, but yea that shit gers irritating af when your taking care of kids that aren't even yours and treating em as if their yours but not one of em wanna show any real respect and appreciation for it

Been raising my daughter's son since birth and I have made up my mind, in 2 more years I'm sending him off to college and the rest of my life will be husband & wife time and that's it. Thank GOD, he's a good child, never had any issues with him at all (I don't play that); if you raise them right and check out the friendships they keep, it shoud be alright when it comes to behaviour. Now, I'll still take the Grandkids to differant places for vacation time but, upon return they got's to go. Generational Courses nornally will have everybody locked down raising somebodies elses children while the so called daddy out there making more babies by other women. Ladies, do your due dilligence before you have a baby by someone, some of these joker's can't take care of themselves and if you do or have, don't have 2, 3, more by him when he didn't take care of the first one.

Thank you Ricky for what you do. The real hard part is when your raised by parent's and always knew something didn't feel right with one biological parent. When you truly figure out that your own father wishes that you were never born, dad tells you, you will never amount to anything ! A narcissist parent is the worst, they will try to destroy your marriage and destroy your beautiful wife and kids. I carried my mother in my arms while she battled cancer, my dad wouldn't hold her hand while she was dying and asked, I took off the most , done the most, and paid bill's, and tried to protect them. But a evil father and sibling will gang up on you with this narcissistic stuff. So at age 50, and lots of land to live on acres and acres of property, I moved and life is grand all parents are not good parents, thank you for raising me, But yeah no contact, take those demonic demons to someone else !but thank God when He said when father and mother forsake me ! Jesus was there ! Love my wife and kids, Thank you Jesus ! Call a narcissist person/parents if you want to, they will assault you over the phone. I wouldn't wish a narcissistic person on my worst enemy

My 3 are young adults, 20, 22, 24. Growing up I noticed many people my age dealing with their loved ones just like this. I figured, it would take more than love and exposure, it would take prayer. I prayed for each of my kids while they were in the womb that they would be humble, thoughtful and a joy to be around. At each stage of their life, they’ve all been all those things. My expectations are not what I don’t want them to be or act but that they live life the best they can no matter where they are. This has been our , my husband of 27 years, game plan together. Prayers of what you want starts early and often.

Rickey you are speaking facts 💯You are absolutely correct and it doesn’t matter if you are a dad, grandfather or father! Everything you mentioned I’ve done for my own and my nephew except college tuition payments but my very own kids…after seeing me hustle to be able to afford them the abilities that I didn’t have, to now feel as if I did nothing, to sacrifice myself for them and to be treated as if I’m the worst person ever! I’m learning how to navigate beyond it as well as my son now can’t get his self together enough to get his own place again, walking around like he’s entitled 🙄yet instill their dad wasn’t able to provide for them as much but since their family is huge, they are cousins, aunts and uncles are so close they are best friends as well, which I totally love about that family. In turn they turned my kids against me because issues arise that stopped my nuptials over 30yrs ago but yet instill they seemed to not have gotten over it 🙄mind you their dad has been married for the past 20 plus yrs🤨since being blessed to provide for them more even married but he’s the most favored and I’ll leave it as that 🤨Now I learning solely focus on myself which has taken me a minute since being a young parent at 18/19yrs old my whole young adult life has never been about myself but about my children!! Thanks Rickey you are Always on point and I don’t need to write a book 📖 in your comments 😂😂

But I wanted to. My choice. No regrets. But… I feel left out at times. I feel like I have too. All I pray for is they will come back. My DTR Is so independent. I taught her that tho. I am too. But. She was trained. Both of mine were. Respect. Manners. Consideration. Sincere. The whole package. She calls me. Sometimes. Son. Different story. He protects me. Checks on me. I have always been strong. My Dtr too. Things change. I am older. I just hope they all come back to us. Be more present in our life. She thinks she is. But I feel it differently. My heart breaks.
