I totally get you on LoG4 idea. Legacy of Goku part 2 and 3 (not one, kill it with fire) were always my favourite DB games without competition. Legacy of Goku in Super or GT timeline would be amazing. And aside that - I'm really surprised that despite having so many fan mangakas in this community, games don't get original storylines. It's all under our noses but nobody utilizes that potential.

Budokai Tenkaichi series was filled with clone characters. So many characters in the game had "energy blast volley" and "explosion wave." And the Raging bkast series was essentially a remake of the Budokai Tenkaichi series so it had the same problem.

Nothing against you personally, but I find this the most ANNOYING argument I've heard. We haven't had a detailed Dragon Ball story game in over a decade. Kakarot is an RPG, completely single player focused. Finally. We've gotten nothing but fighters, whether they're 2D or 3D that focus on just that, fighting, and the story comes second or even third. I loved those to bits. But they just didn't really tell the story. What's the last time we got an actual *story focused* game about the main Dragon Ball story?

I want to see a game were you make a your own character and your part of the dbz story not like dbx in dbx you time travel and save time but in this game your an actual character in the story and you can choose to be a villain or a good guy like you start of as a saiyan with vegeta and nappa and then you turn good and help all the other dbz characters fight opponents like broly, freiza,cell or you start of with goku and krillin with master roshi and the story will go up to the broly movie, another feature is that you could also die in the game an example is that in the frieza saga you could die like vegeta and then you play as goku until goku and bulma gather the dragon balls and revive you and vegeta or if you survive and help goku you help him fight freiza and goku will eventually turn into a super saiyan but if freiza deafeats goku you will have to fight freiza on your own but you will be the one to turn super saiyan (and if you die while fighting freiza on your own you get a ending or a gameover scene) and if goku turned super saiyan and didnt get defeated than you will have to get super saiyan in the android saga like vegeta did and you will unlock tons of other transformations through out the story. this game would take a very long time but i always wanted a game like this, this is just a really cool idea (if theres any questions you guys have about my idea just ask me i will have fun answering your questions, you can also tell me a few ideas if you want) Edit:i forgot to mention that you dont have to be a saiyan you could be a frieza race,namekian,android,human, or majin and each race will start of in different parts of the story and will have their own story like a namekian will start of in planet namek and later on you will meet goku and the others but you cant do a story from a different race for example if your a majin you cant start of with nappa and vegeta you have to be saiyan to do that

Even then, the Xenoverse games still kinda followed the DBZ story, albeit with a twist involving time travel. It's still the DBZ storyline at a fundamental level. You still fight Raditz. FighterZ had a really weak storyline, honestly, and its gameplay was subpar.

Why not a game following the rise and fall of the Saiyan race? They could pretty much do whatever they want with it. You start out picking the difficulty, Low Class, Mid Class, Elite etc. You are born as a Saiyan baby with an extensive character creation. You are then sent off to your first planet. It's a tutorial world so it's limited open world. Each planet, you are tasked with eliminating or subjugating the planets current inhabitants by fighting through races that each have unique skills, abilities and technologies (some skills and abilities that can be unlocked via certain in game mechanics). Each race will have multiple bosses that you have to defeat before a planet is considered taken over. Your Saiyan pod will serve as a point to lvl up while on planet. Once you have taken over the planet, you go back to planet Vegeta (hub world) to gear up and receive your reward for taking down the planet. From there, you are free to do whatever you want. You are presented a list of planets that you can go to next (based on current experience, lvl, and ranking). Everything from appearance, to gear, to skills and character attributes is fully customizable. And your ability to use ki attacks, physical attacks etc effectively are all governed by which stats you choose when leveling up. It can have some sort of story and main quest line/side quests. I'm thinking of a game similar to how Skyrim is fleshed out. Story with a ton of freedom to just do whatever. I feel like flight would have to be somewhat limited though. I don't know whether it should pay similar t a Souls game or like a Bethesda game or something else. Just kinda a basic idea, but I would play the shit out of something like that.

Just keep the idea of DBZ Kakarot (A single player RPG in the Dragon Ball world) but have the story and setting based on OG Dragon Ball rather than Z. DB lends itself wayyyyy better to an RPG since it has an actual variety of locations rather than just barren field #22, it has way fewer characters that can fly meaning that vehicles and other forms of transport are a lot more relevant and you can't just jet past every landscape, Battle Powers are low enough to put the focus back on techniques and fighting skill rather than just power alone etc. Plus, we've never seen the classic DB artstyle rendered with current gen technology.

My suggestion would be a world where the Saiyans were never exterminated. They are on a mission to take over the universe. New enemies, Goku could still be in it but evil, a whole bunch of "what ifs" for the same universe. Travel between planets. Vegeta is a proper Saiyan prince, the possibilities are endless

Dragon Ball: Krillin An alternate universe where Goku never suffered from a head injury and ended up becoming earth's largest threat. Krillin is forced to beef up more than we saw in DBZ and faces off against the Saiyan threat with Master Roshi, Tien, Yamcha, and even Piccolo. Maybe even have Bulma help. Go for more of an apocalyptic world like where Trunks is from. Have Krillin die during his final confrontation with Goku like Goku did with Radditz. And when Radditz is meant to eventually arrive at Earth, have him arrive with Vegeta and Nappa. Up the stakes a little. There's a whole story waiting there

These suggestions technically aren’t games. They aren’t really even stories. They’re more of a starting off point. A direction to go towards. A game is a lot more than just a story. It has mechanics (gameplay) and even the kind of story has to be game appropriate. For example, you can’t 100% translate the Dragon Ball story to a game. For example, see Legacy of Goku 2/Buu’s fury, the Budokai games, Sagas and Tenkaichi*. All those games are Dragon Ball games but tell the story differently and appropriately relative to the kinds of games. You may need to add or remove filler or come up with something entirely new. It also depends on the kind of game you’re making. For example, if FighterZ told the traditional DBZ story, it’d have to cut out a lot of stuff while the Legacy of Goku trilogy had to add a lot of filler to fit the kind of game it was. Speaking of which, DBZ Kakarot is probably the closest thing you’ll get to a Legacy of Goku 4. Since the two of them are RPGs.

My dream game would have been if Kakarot went through Gokus entire story, starting OG Dragon Ball and ending with the Tournament of Power. Start from Gokus meeting with Bulma and really work your way up like Goku did. Start out with the tail, No flying, no ki blasts. Slowly earn all your abilities just like in the series. By the end where you finally master Ultra Instinct you would feel like a total god and would make it truly satisfying to achieve.

I'd like to see a DBZ Turn based RPG, hell even a Tactics RPG! In those types of RPG games, all the characters can use all the moves in their arsenal we'd want them to use because in a fighting game, you can only use a select few which often sucks. Imagine buffing up your moves in battle like combining kaioken on top super saiyan like in the "Other World Tournament Arc" against Pikkon... Imagine activating your characters aura barrier to temporarily raise you power level in battle for speed/offence/defence and a have negative MP/HP impact on the next round... Items like sensu beans could act like Phoenix Down in Final Fantasy... ...What I'm saying is: DBZ has more potential as a traditional turn based RPG. The Fighting games can still exist.

My idea is somewhat similar. I was thinking start off as a custom Saiyan in a pod before frieza takes over You can choose to either be an elite Saiyan with far higher starting power and has access to better techniques and the ability to control great ape transformation. But the negatives would be slower leveling and lower zenkai boosts. If you choose low level, you start very weak using wits in the early stages of the game to compensate for a lack of power. Bonuses would be quicker leveling and great zenkai boosts from near death encounters. The player stats could be broken down into Speed, Strength, defense, Ki capacity, Ki blasts techniques, and lastly instinct or ki sense. Instinct would determine passive evading and quicker reaction time during low health moments. Everything else is self explanatory. Stats automatically improve as you level but you can receive additional perks and gains through actual training activities. Gameplay would be a perfect mix of top notch open world rpg and arena style combat with depth. Your choices would determine how your story plays out. Even your starting class would determine your starting point and planets you get assigned to.

Personally the problem with the story mode in the previous dragon ball games is that the story is mainly composed of cutscenes -> fight -> cutscene -> fight and so on as with ultimate tenkaichi, budokai, burst limit whereas with kakarot it feels like your playing experiencing the story more through gameplay rather than cutscenes
