The Problem With Indie Games

The real problem is the idea that all indie games are good, when in reality, really only 5% are quality to the level of AAA games now and from the past. Everyone talks about Shovel Knight, Cuphead, Pizza Tower, Celeste, etc. But those games are the exception, not the standard. Most indies are similar to the nintendo e-shop shovelware games or the crappy modern mobile games we have become accustomed to. I don't think the idea that indie games are so much better than AAAs is that accurate, the good indie games are just the top of indie games.

I listed the most popular ones because they are the most well known and the problem is with the popular indie games. Obviously, most indie games are ok, but it is possible to find those hidden indie gems

Yes. I saw one Spongebob zombie game. It was just Black Ops2 rip off. Most Indie games just are no less than AAA games. Besides Cuphead just seems to be cup people venisoned metal slug. I hate today generation

My point is, that is a very steep generalization about indie games, which while yes, there are alot of formulaic styles of game, there are also some really cool passion projects that are genuinely unique, whether it be the art styles, game mechanics, or characters.

What sucks about Indies is that a HUGE majority of them are flash game trash that shouldn't even be sold. Mostly shovelware. Indie games are just as bad as Triple A games. Unfortunately, we get these hipster wokism culture that will defend indie to death while bashing ANY and ALL big companies. Not all triple A is bad just like not all Indie is good. Entertainment has declined very badly and people aren't ready to admit that because they are broke, desperate, and suffer from survival bias. Most indies don't even hold a candle to the old classics of gaming. Most indies keep using that shitty pixels style that everyone complains about. I'm not saying pixelation is shit, but I think people complain about it because it's become too redundant. Everyone just uses Unity/Unreal templates and just copies and pastes everything! Indie games suck ass. Also Indie games aren't saving the industry.

You can literally argue the same thing with Triple A games, the difference is indie games are made with passion first and triple a games are made to make money. I'd rather support an independent artist than a money-hungry corporation. So yes, while there are alot of bad indie games, the ones that stand out make it worth looking for. Plus, you have to admit, indie games have way more of an impressive art style then high-rez 4K humanoid people.

I know that all well known Games are just Copy and Paste, thats what the people wants....i hate that too and thats why i don't Play games like CoD, Fifa or Ubisoft, Bugthesda crap etc. I mainly play Soulsborne or Fun Games like Worms and Mario Kart with Friends. But i still stick with my opinion that indie games are mostly crap. I know graphics are not everything but if a game looks like Pixel mud i just can't play them, it is the first thing i see and then the gameplay. Most of the time its looks not fun to me.

And that's fair, but some people like pixel art games. Me, I'm in the middle, if it's pixel art, there has to be SOME kind of unique aspect to make it stand out otherwise I'm just not interested. From my experience, most triple a games are soulless due to the amount of freaking sequels there are for ONE IP lol. That's mostly what I'm referring to. When indie games are bad, they tend to be really bad, but when they are good, they actually stand out, even amongst the Triple A games

for me Undertale is Overrated Trash, for the most part you are Walking, Combat is BORING all you do is Land on the Attack Bar, Move the Heart to Dodge and avoid Dying, Act, Use item and Ask for Mercy, i wished Frisk was a girl, ¿one save slot?What is this!? ¿a Game Boy game?, just to make fun of those Fanboys some of the soundtracks Doesn't sound original like the Core theme which sounds like Gene gadget zone from Sonic 3D Blast, the game only has English and Japanese text which some games that came before were Translated to more Languages, You can´t play with Controller and some indie games that came out Before Can be played with Controller Like Hotline Miami, if you wanna go back to the main menu you have to Reopen the game, the best things this game has it's the Soundtrack and the lack of storage required. On Steam that game cost Almost the same as Terraria a 2D survival game with Replaybility, Customization, Fun Gameplay and a Good Soundtrack

The problem i have is that indie games tend to boil down to repetitive and boring, or just boring. Undertale, smile for me, celeste, getting over it, fnaf, and to an extent, slender, all fall under this provlem
