The Problem With Naruto, and Sasuke in Boruto

For years I have been wondering why Sasuke refuses to use the Ashura path to give himself an artificial arm for battle. There's no way he is fighting at his 100 percent without an arm.

It should be noted Sasuke, just like Naruto, was missing a huge chunk of his chakra by virtue of opening a portal and bringing even more people that he intended to the fight with Momoshiki and even then he had to be mindful of not wasting it all to open a portal back. On top of that we see him keep up with Fused Momo just as fine after he starts using his EMS (with EMS stated to be a huge power amp in the databook iirc).

Naruto was withstanding almighty push and pull in 6 tails against pain.. Naruto broke out of chibaku Tensei in 8 tails form against pain....he was literally pulling his Soul when nagato tried to pull out is soul, Naruto pulled it back....now if Naruto could withstand all the rinnegas abilities how do you expect them to work on beings stronger than they are.... finally genjutsu doesn't work on Otsusuki...if you actually pay attention you'd notice Sasuke uses genjutsu on every opponent he faced except the otsusuki... this entire video is made of off incomplete understanding of the show.

Are you serious? Naruto and Sasuke were still feared by Otsutsuki level opponents even after their nerf…Momoshiki had to temporarily team up with Code and hold Shikamaru hostage because they felt like he was too much to handle.

One of the stupidest things I remember people saying is that Sasuke would still be completely useless, even if he used all his Rinnegan powers. Well instead of giving us the idea of it, actually show it so it feels like they’re trying! Because from a story point of view it confuses the audiences as to why you’re not using it? Even if it would be pointless, you still need to put it into the story because it makes your character look so naïve when not using their full power.

There's honestly a lot of issues with the powerscaling in boruto ever since they introduced jigen. You're telling me that naruto was easily deflecting 5+ bijuu bombs in the war arc but struggles to tank punches from an imperfect vessel of isshiki? Speaking of jigen, sasuke knew how much of a threat he was but never fought him like an above kaguya level threat. Naruto was hurling jutsu after jutsu against kaguya and madara but jigen? Ye lets throw hands and never try to put him in a position where he CANT absorb our jutsu like we did with kaguya. Sasuke also never used the other variation of amenotejikara where he can teleport his opponents in front of him (he did this with madara AND kaguya and would have been a massive tide changer against isshiki/jigen). They didnt even use the majestic attire kurama avatar against him which is stronger than both kurama and the susanoo alone. Sasuke also never used any other variation of the chidori like nagashi and senbon. Also how tf is borushiki relative to kawashiki? Momoshiki is weaker than both naruto and sasuke but was somehow keeping up with kawashiki (arguably even holding back because he didnt wanna kill kawaki).

I really need people process this, why would Naruto even think about frog kata try to read someone's oncoming attack just for a surprise attack when he has an even more powerful form that gives him even more sensory abilities than sage mode, SO6P mode(he can sense and automatically react to limbo). Naruto post war has full kurama and has so much chakra he literally shattered reality at one point. Momoshiki can create literal supernovas which places him at solar while in base. Kaguya’s greatest feat is star. But onto why they may feel nerfed. Kishimoto doesn’t want battles to be flashy fights between chakra mechs meaning that we will see far less battles with both the susano and kurama avatar in the future, and even in battles where we do see naruto and sasuke use their respective chakra mechs they will be destroyed. Another thing is sasukes sharingon is useless against the ostostuki because they already know of it and it’s abilities plus sasuke can only copy ninjustu and taijustu. Sasuke can’t copy shinjustu which is what characters like momoshiki use. Another reason is the karma if naruto and sasuke do use the powers of the rinnegan and tailed beasts they would more than likely die due to the fact it won’t work. Boruto makes it clear that all the rinnegan, and six paths powers get nullified by momoshiki, isshiki and jigen all of which would basically make using the rinnegan a waste of chakra for sasuke. It’s not that their nerfed it’s that their opponents are A stronger than kaguya, and B are designed by kishimoto to make it so they can’t use justu. Naruto was never supposed to be a battle of mass destruction where who ever throws the largest justu wins. So while naruto and sasuke got stronger so strong that they can solo shippuden most of their more explosive and large scale justus just get nullified. Ishhiki and momoshiki would be dragon ball fights if it weren’t for their abilities to nullify justu. Sage mode more than likely wouldn’t work against them either since the ostostuki all have six paths powers as a base thing for them meaning more than likely they’ll since the large amount of chakra. Isshiki, momoshiki were beaten only cause of hubris and pride. If naruto even used a simple tailed beast rasengon from any tailed beast the chakra would more than likely be taken by momoshiki or isshiki during their fights. Put it simple the villains are to strong nowadays and are designed specifically to counter any abilities that could actively be useful. Hopefully this makes things clearer. Naruto and sasuke weren’t nerfed until after their fight with isshiki.

I think theres a deeper fundamental problem in the villains and fights of Boruto, Naruto and sasuke have already reached the peak of a normal shinobi without all this otsutsuki bs and thats why every villain is the same in Boruto who can absorb chakra so normal ninja moves cant be used. Its really repetitive and boring in my opinion every villain has the same ability of absorbing chakra so theres no strategy or mental games its just straight up hands every single time. Boruto has had about ten major villains and only 3 of them can absorb jutsu. Isshiki btw can't absorb jutsu cuz he doesn't have karma or the rinnegan. Naruto so happen to fight all 3 and Sasuke 2. The rest of the villains in the show were dealt with by characters who were not them

I have a couple of points that explain some of the problems you mention, as I believe you overlooked a few things. For the Jigen battle, prior to the fight starting, Jigen went to go and absorb chakra from the Ten Tails in preparation for the battle with them, meaning he had gotten a major stat buff and the added benefits of the Ten Tails' chakra. Also, prior to the battle starting, Sasuke had come from traveling between time spaces, which Obito stated drains more chakra when traveling to a time space that isn’t your own. This means the multiple trips Sasuke had taken lowered his chakra amount during the battle. Now, for the Naruto points: Frog Kata seems to be a Toad Sage Mode ability, not a Sage of the Six Paths ability, as Teen Naruto never used it while in the Sage of the Six Paths mode either. It’s good for a one-time sneak attack, as in every showing of the ability, but not for repeated use in battle, as seen with the Ashura Path and the 3rd Raikage. As for Naruto not sensing Jigen when he shrinks in Chapter 78, Shikamaru says that Kawaki can’t be sensed when he is using Sukunahikona, and he is using a lesser version of it at the time due to only having half the Dojutsu during that time. So, Jigen, who has Isshiki piloting his body, would have the greater version of what Kawaki had, meaning it should be potent enough to avoid even Naruto's sensing. As for the Tailed Beast Jutsus, most of them can be shrunk by Sukunahikona or absorbed by Karma. The only real useful one would have been the 5-Tails Vapor Cloak, but Jigen would have most likely responded the same way he did to the full Kurama avatar by using the second stage of Karma to match or even overpower Naruto's amp. As for Sasuke, as I mentioned before, he is heavily drained from repeated travel before the fight starts, so there isn’t much he can do. Especially with the statement about the other Rinnegan powers, which, by the War Arc, became useless once the person knew about them, as seen with Obito and Madara avoiding the usage of them. Momoshiki, Jigen/Isshiki, and by extension, a majority of the villains in Boruto have the Rinnegan or know of all its abilities, meaning they can counter accordingly. Like, if Jigen got pulled in, he can shrink or use Karma to teleport out and counter accordingly. Same with the other paths. A majority of these points stay the same with Isshiki, who now has the added power of Karma reincarnation, his original power, and his completed Kokugan Dojutsu. This is the point where he is now stronger than Naruto and Sasuke with additional boosts. Rather than absorb attacks, he can fully shrink them now. His cubes disable all sensory while out on the battlefield, and he still can’t be sensed while shrunken, which is why Sasuke doesn’t bother using the Sharingan against him since the cubes now hinder him. And Naruto already can’t sense him shrunken and also has the cubes hindering him. Tailed Beast Jutsus can still be shrunk, and now Isshiki has the raw power to overcome even a 5-Tails Vapor amp. As for the Code Arc and the timeskip flashback, Code with limiters is far weaker than Wisdom of Age Sage Mode Naruto, which is why he took Shikamaru hostage. Code with limiters is weaker than Jigen, as his power only scales towards a normal Jigen, not Jigen with Ten Tails chakra. And the same with no limiters: base Code is only as strong as or stronger than a Jigen without Ten Tails chakra, which is why Sasuke can fight relatively with Code. These are the in-universe reasons why they are displayed this way, but out of universe, I do agree Ikemoto could at least try and show them attempting these things and failing, so we can at least say they tried. Edit: Somethings I forgot to mention Sasuke used a smoke bomb that disabled visual prowess during the conclusion of the battle with Isshiki, and he stated that it would even affect him, which is why Borushiki was able to sneak attack him. In the manga, the clouds from the bomb can still be seen floating around them. Sasuke quite literally wouldn’t have been able to do anything. Borushiki also notes that he hid his presence and was waiting for the right moment. Naruto was down, Sasuke couldn’t use his eyes, and Kawaki at this point in time doesn’t know how to utilize his connection with Boruto either. Sharingan Genjutsu doesn’t work on Byakugan users, so it wouldn’t work on Isshiki or Borushiki. Jigen is just a body being piloted from the brain, so it most likely would not work on him. As for Code, he was with an army not just alone. Code most likely would have been woken up or snapped out of it by the Claw Grims. Sasuke only using Amenotejikara (his swapping and teleporting) is due to the fact that the villains they face have no knowledge of a Rinnegan with the ability to swap places or travel dimensions so its also his trump card against them. Sasuke doesn’t armor up Naruto in the jigen due to not having enough chakra to still teleport after doing that, or possibly because he didn’t want both of them to get taken out at the same time.

Naruto couldn’t use sage based jutsu because they are still made of chakra. Ishiki could still absorb it. The reason Kashin Koji using real fire worked was because it wasn’t made of chakra.

Genjutsu cant work on Otsutsukis. The person casting a Genjutsu would need to have greater chakra control than the person they’re trying to catch in one.. kinda like a Tug of war to see who can manipulate who. (Doing it against an Otsutsuki is futile given how they’re superior beings compared to humans). Secondly Boruto/momoshiki most likely erased his chakra signature when he stabbed Sasukes rinnegan(which is why he couldn’t have seen him coming)

As a naruto yapper myself. Theres SO much techniques the both of them can use that can bypass the main issue of chakra absorption. Additionally, the sharingan can SEE INTO THE FUTURE. Im surprised Sasuke couldn't see hours into the future or have perfect, absolute future sight with a rinnesharingan 😭. And you do have a point with using senjutsu to enhance the chakra with nature energy to bypass absorption. But the truth orbs nullify chakra because they are all nature types at once so it depends. But Naruto, having yin-yang release. Probably has a crapload of jutsu that can bypass this. Yeah and also, why not use fuinjutsu to bypass the seal? Theres a variety of sealing and anti-seal jutsu in the Naruto series. And NARUTO as an Uzumaki should be able to bypass the karma seal because his CLAN SPECIALIZES IN THAT TYPA JUTSU. Both Sasuke and Naruto have too much jutsu gained from the sage of six paths for them to lose to basic chakra absorption.

Writers make the characters punching bags all the time lol. Naruto was a constant punching bag until the end. Now we have new villains to scale better than the last villain in Naruto’s story. For the most part him and Sauske slap most villains when all out. ONLY Jigen/Isshiki has demolished Naruto and Sauske in battle (before the whole ACTUAL nerf when they both lose important abilities) People over exaggerate this They squash momo but the tricks they used on him just didn’t work against Jigen and they learned that early on, when they both went into the dimension and went straight to chakra mechs. Jigen kicked them OUT of them and Jigen’s shrink and cube/rod abilities make it EXTREMELY hard to get close to him for the taijutsu beatdowns they gave Momoshiki.

It's not like this is new. In the majority of anime the Leader/mentors are stronger than all the enemies the MCs face until end of series where the MCs have to surpass their masters. There's no reason they're doing it so bad now. The main issue is that they keep including Naruto and Sasuke at all. The story should mention them as legends and the Hokage but they don't need to be involved until it really gets out of hand. That would have kept the power scaling in check

How are you using Kyuubi Avatar with Susanoo Armor on Momoshiki, but not Jigen? Regardless of knowledge, Rinnegan abilities give Sasuke a better chance. Sasuke has Peta Path (Chakra Absorption) and didn't use it once against him. Sasuke should mastery over Kirin. The clones at this point wouldn't be for instant sage mode, it'd be for storing extra chakra. Ma and Pa doing the frog song would be trouble with Jigen since most of their jutsu are nature based. Koji himself proved this (which forced Isshiki to come out). Yes, the chain are a creative gripe I had.

@@StocksYear I think the avatar would matter. Heck, Naruto can clone avatars who can also gather chakra. Kirin being "slow" isn't the problem. It's still a nuke that should be way more powerful since he was a teenage (which is still nature based). Sasuke had smoke bomb that can block the Byakugan (That would've been useful during the fight). I doubt he can shrink Ma & Pa Frog Song or absorb it. Usually it's a physical thing he can touch (We saw masks, Rasengan, and other weapons get shrunk for example). Also, The Rinnegan has 6 paths (7 if you count the outer path). No way you can tell me those ain't useful.

Once again you mention ma and Pa but Naruto can't summon them he's not contracted to them and, again, even if he did they would be killed instantly cuz the song takes too long. We assume that jigen either tanks kirin if he gets hit with it or it'll force him to resurrect which is an instant win con for isshiki. Those basic 6 abilities of the rinnegan are common knowledge among his clan so he can probably counter or see them coming. I'm trynna tell you man there is no way they beat jigen or isshiki without baryon mode. Go reREAD (not watch) the fights again and you'll see why I'm so certain

I can see some valid points here. However Naruto does have SPSM. SPSM and SO6P are two separate modes. You can tell by his eye pigmentation that it's SPSM. SPSM is acquired when you have chakra of all the tailed beasts. SO6P was something he only had when he had Hagaromo's chakra. So SO6P is the mode he lost.

What Naruto ACTUALLY lost is the yang seal that hagaromo gave him. First off I respect your opinion. But I will say It's not just Naruto and Sasuke that suffer from the writing. Even characters like Kawaki do. Like Kawaki is supposed to have surpassed Isshiki by now, but yet he's getting one shot by basically everything. Code really suffers from the writing as well. Code to me seems like a pretty cool antagonist on the surface, but he just gets thrown around. I mean pre timeskip boruto using only stage 1 of his karma seal was destroying him. My main reason for saying the writing is bad other than it being just my own opinion, is largely just due to the inconsistent power scaling. Which happens with the new and old generation.

In terms of the speed factor. It's really hard to say with that. Speed has always been inconsistent through out Naruto so I won't even try to break that down. But regardless Naruto could do something with his knowledge from his clones. Well that's if he was actually using the broken sensory skills from SPSM. You're right about Jigen absorbing jutsu, but Naruto could stack Senjutsu onto his own jutsu making it a nature attack. And I think you make a valid point about the Kurama Susanoo avatar. Likely wouldn't have worked, but I was more less just giving an example of many of things they just don't try to do.

Isshiki/Jigen is just stronger than them , what use would all of the other abilities be against an Otsutsuki.He can absorb all their ninjutsu or shrink any thing he can’t absorb. Genjutsu can’t work ,they don’t have sealing jutsu(Chibaku tensei isn’t gonna work).You keep saying frog kata but that can be used like once before enemy just understand it and counters it. Otsutsuki also can mask their chakra signature and can’t be sensed normally.If u plug ur controller in them ur just gonna make them use all these abilities to waste more chakra and still lose.The Otsutsuki already know all of the rinnegans abilities because a lot of them have rinnegan.

Well, this is the problem with sequals. You need to find a balance of previous characters and introducing the new characters. A lot of writers tend to rush the powerlvl of their new protagonists and by doing this they either disrespect their former creations, because their story already was told to a massive extend, this creates several problems, wich can not be solved the easy way. In the case of Naruto, later on Boruto, these problems are on a whole another level, because the infinite goal of Naruto Shippuden is to tell us that real peace can be achieved, but Boruto shows us, that there always will be people, that trie to destroy that peace, so this creates a cycle of Generations who think they have beaten war and hate. In reality this message would be accurate, but it contradicts the whole purpose of Shippuden and at the same time it makes Boruto pointless, bc we saw Naruto achieving his goals only to realize that they never were or can be achieved as long as time, space and people do exist, so if Boruto achieves his goals and his lageacy is passed down the next generation after him, there still will be the same conflicts just with different characters and reasoning / setting. Shippuden stood for hope, friendship and peace, Boruto is here to get you back into reality. To me, as someone who raised with shippuden, it only teaches me one thing - as long as life does exist, there will be conflicts. So I come to the conclusion, that Madara was right in the first place, Naruto never should have won, they should have stayed all in the endless tsukyiomi, if there was no "kaguya" plottwist. Since there is the kaguya/zetsu plottwist, only madaras idea were right, but he was fooled himself, since all that would have happened if kaguya werent sealed by naruto and sasuke is, that those otsutsuki would have come anyway and fight against kaguya. So there is no choice. Does not matter if you accept it or not, life is, always was and ever will be nothing but a conflict, even if you succeed in your agendas. Not even in fiction we let real peace come true, and there are people that think, that humans are not a race of war? You know what peace is? If we're going by your examples, then the only way to prove that they are not indeed nerfed is to have the writers write them in such a way that utilizes all of their abilities and still lose to Jigen. I think the root of the problem isn't that they lost, but they lost without using the full extent of their abilities and that's where the frustrations come from. Just saying. Honestly, I don't think you would complain if that was the case as in your opinion it would establish the villains in Boruto pre-TBV as the real deal, rather than something Naruto and Sasuke should've taken care of at a much better fashion. I agree with a lot but the Sasuke vs Code is misconstrued. Code is shown to play with his food. That's likely what afforded Sasuke the chance to cut an eye. Sasuke makes it very clear that (even with backup from Boruto), they CANNOT defeat Code. Sasuke is still incredibly powerfult without the rinnegan but he is NOT on par with limitless code unless you want to take the scene with no real thought. All that being said, I don't think Jigen beating them would be so bad with we actually saw Naruto and Sasuke try. The fight had so much potential that was simply squandered. And yes, Sasuke's chakra is whatever the plot demands.

Code overall is very tricky to scale in general. Because he also suffers from the bad writing. But yeah Naruto and Sasuke vs Jigen did have potential. Jigen just isn't stronger than them. Jigen's ability is just simple, easily broken down by Sasuke, it's not even really hax. Plus Jigen isn't a perfect vessel for Isshiki like Kawaki is, so he can't even use Isshiki's eye.

You're also assuming that every character is using their full power, aswell as characters being distracted, overwhelmed or focusing on a larger agenda. Not every character always has their guard up, not every character is willing to engage in conflict and not every character prioritizes defense. Battles in the Naruto have alway been about strategy and exploiting moments of distraction or weakness. You're only taking into account the raw power, for example sasuke's rinnegan stab - timing, deception, and exploiting openings matter.

The indicator is no pigmentation around the eyes. Also another thing. Naruto couldn’t sense isshiki because the cubes blocked his sensory abilities. This is why you need to use the manga. In the Anime this is not stated. He just says he lost sight of him. Sasuke was the only one who could really track his shrinking abilities and rods. Although it was barely. He should have sacrificed what he had left, and waited until his chakra came back, so he can take everyone home. Or, use the Shinra Tensei, then fight and defeat Boruto, and wait till Boruto himself wakes up, so he can use the Karma seal to take everyone home.

Sasuke always running out of chakra when fighting made zero sense..... in the fight with Naruto he drains the nine tails chakra instantly......and he was new to using his eye..... i forgot what path that is........All you have to do is look at when Pain was reanimated lol he almost killed Bee and Naruto..

I mean Naruto doesn’t have the ability to tap into the same six path mode he used in the war arc & Sasuke using genjutsu ona otsutsuki is just pointless. On top of tht the 2 of them were gonna get surpassed regardless, with the new otsutsuki bringing in new mechanics tht we’ve never seen, plus the robots Amado built using Shibai’s dna it was only a matter of time before the 2 of them got left in the dust. The new generation is supposed to be stronger than their elders. A lot of the hate Boruto receives is from biased Naruto fans tht refuse to actually try to enjoy it. Everyone bringing up the filler episodes you can jus read the manga & you wnt have to worry about them. Boruto’s story is actually extremely intriguing & well written even before Eida shows up, & now with two blue vortex it’s getting even better. I understand if people dnt like the show for personal reasons but tht doesn’t mean it isn’t good. Perfect example is me hating one piece bc of the art style, it might be a good show but I jus can’t get with it,

The Jigen fight was straight garbage in writing like Jigen isnt doing shit to them and Isshiki winning was straight bs, Sasuke wasnt using Rinnegan to its fp nor was Naruto looked like fighting in fp bruh the nerf is crazy

Just check "naruto explained" vedios...on why naruto and sasuke arent not even overwhelming jigen/ishikki.... Iv got tired explaining to ppl like u for now almost 4 years+....ishikki is charcter built directly to counter Naruto and sasuke...jigen is not getting cooked in anyways...he is purposely built that way....all theur jutsus are meant to countered by jigen/ishikki.... Boruto in comparison to naruto doesnt spoon feed the shit out,and ofc the bias keeps one blinded... About sasuke loosing his rinnegan eida explains otsuski has the ability to hide their presence+ sasuke was already drained by the fighting ishikki but the major point here being his chakra being drained by ishikki's rods

I feel like Boruto even though I haven't seen a lot of it just from what I've heard probably suffers from the same lack of writing and consistency as the New Age of Dragon Ball does is this horrible writing an inconsistency. I mean Sasuke in a way should be even more broken than Naruto because not only does he possess Rinnegan that can control the tailed beast but it was clearly seen during the fight that Sasuke had with Naruto Sasuke was absorbing Naruto's energy through his fist into Naruto stomach then there's the fact that by all accounts Sasuke should have some of the tailed beast energy deeper within him I mean after all when he was fighting Naruto at the end of Shippuden he absorbed a lot of the tailed beast chakra into his susanoo so by all accounts Sasuke should be somewhat of a jinchuriki himself. In killing off the nine tails within Naruto man that was just pushing it too far and taking Sasuke's Rinnegan that was just Overkill.

Sasuke cannot use copy technique because they is not jutsu in boruto that he can copy easily they are fighting against cyborgs otsutsukhis that use different abilities that cannot be copied and also sasuke cannot use genjutsu because it doesn't fit his fighting style and also otsutsukhi are too powerful to be caught under genjutsu
