tl;dr: Olight flashlights come with alkaline batteries preinstalled. And if you’re collecting the flashlight and you’re just leaving the flashlight sealed in its box on the shelf, the alkaline battery can corrode potentially and make a mess out of the inside of your flashlight.

There is no contact being made with the battery and light. The battery itself would have to degrade. There’s no power going through the lights . Even the preinstalled bigger batteries don’t contact the lights. Keeping it brand new in box with the little plastic piece over the terminals prevents what you claim

I have an i3EEOS on each of my 3 key chains. The best as a key chain light IMHO. I have several spares thanks to freebies. But I did have a battery leak on one that I had on a chain. Still haven't got it to work again.

The problem with Olight is themselves, crap LEDs, shitty tint, oh and the shit proprietary charging systems and batteries. And overpriced for what you get.
