I like German BB's. Haven't met a German BB that I didn't fully enjoy. So far, I have obtained every available German battleship and battlecruiser. At Tier 8 I've been very pleased with both the Friedrich der Große & Prinz Rupprecht. However, for the very first time since I began playing this game in 2020, I'm not feeling motivated to obtain the Pommern. The torpedos are a nice bonus but I already have the entire battlecruiser line, plus Odin, Tirpitz, Brandenburg, Scharnhorst & Gneisenau so I'm not in short supply of BB's or BC's (that are torpedo threats) by any means. Great video as usual Derka. 😜

I really can't get why WG refuses to balance the game based on easy factors anyone can see if they play the popular ships at T8 - L. Why on earth do ships like Pommern & Montana seemingly have to be stuck at a 30 second Reload with subpar caliber guns at their respective tiers and thus deal less damage on average but Musashi & Yamato get to not only deal MASSIVE damage to anything they hit, but are the only ones who can OM 32 mm armor AND get to have sub 27 seconds & 24 second reloads respectively... am I the only one who reads that and sees a MAJOR issue with that "balance" I mean there's a good reason those are by far some of the most , if not THEE most popular ships at their tiers...

I agree that she is in need of a little love.. and Honestly I can see them buffing the HP on the Torp Tubes or Buffing the Reload on the Main Guns.. So far I found my most consistency with it using Aiming Systems and Running the Alidad perk so that the mains actually do pen when they hit the target. This leaves your secondaries a mediocre 8.7km range but seems to be much more user friendly to me, but we all know im the super tater and not good in German BBs to begin with so theres that...

To be fair, any ship can be a "free damage" ship. It all depends on if the one driving the ship is mispositioned or not.

German battleships at the higher Tiers have always showed worrying signs of getting utterly destroyed in a relative short time when someone is shooting at their superstructure; hell, whenever I play the Friedrich der Große I keep a perfect angling against anything, yet I consistently get smacked on the superstructure for 20k or even 30k damage, basically making her supposedly great armor scheme completely useless.

I've played every class, and every nation, of ships(including all the German BBs). I'm not arguing that German BBs don't have more HP in the superstructure than other nations. I'm saying that mispositioning with any ship gives more free damage to enemy ships than anything else.

@@RTMassacre09 What I'm arguing about is that german battleships in the game are always advertised as being extremely hard nuts to crack when in reality at the highest Tiers they get destroyed in the blink of an eye regardless of how you position with them. Furthermore the problem is exacerbated in Bismarck and Tirpitz's case, since for some reason they have awfully thin lower hull armor that makes angling with them borderline impossible, since that part of the armor can't bounce off anything bigger than the 356mm. Then again, misposition doesn't give free damage to the enemy on certain nation's battleships; take those goddamn baguette battleships, even if they're fully on their brosdside, unless you're under a certain range and playing very specific ships, the damage you inflict them is always extremely reduced in comparison to what you would do to any other nation's battleships.

EDIT: Pommern 105s gets 1/5th ish pen (20mm) FDG, and Roon get the 105mm 1/4 pen (pens 26mm). All current KMS 128s pen 31mm SOON we will have all KMS ATBA 128s and 150s buffed to 32mm and 38mm respectively. Do not know the time frame but CMs have openly discussed this.

I feel the reload is just to long for her caliber at tier 8.... not to mention the accuracy means you will miss alot of shots to. I bought the campaign anyway for the goodies, but I doubt I will take this ship out to battle that much in this state.

I’m not sure that the Ruprecht is overpowered. It’s just finally a proper German battleship with some strength. Would you not rather see some more of this than New Jersey at the back of the map?

My tone might not be coming through here...I absolutely love the Rupperecht its my favorite tier 8 BB. I don't want to see her nerfed. I was just commenting that it is currently the BEST performing BB at T8, and that usually means it's in line for the chopping block in the future. We will see

There is a chart of all the HE pens for legends in the official discord and that claims Pommern only gets 20mm pen with its 105s and it also says 128s except GK already pen 32mm (saw you commenting about them not having it yet) so I just want to know do you have some inside information that goes against what is said in the official discord?

Never sell prems. Yeah you can sell it but your credits will get spent eventually, which you will earn back regardless

I would never sell a premium ship, ever ever ever for a few reasons. 1. Silver is earnable for free. You're trading something of value for something you could earn thru gameplay. 2. Bureau missions often require obscure premiums 3. Crate drops. If you sell Pommern, you will likely receive it in a crate again one day lol. That's just how it goes. So instead of pulling Jean Bart in that crate one day...you'll get Pommern back 😆

I'm sorry, but I do not understand why P. Rupprecht needs a nerf. Is it strong, yes, but it's also lightly armored and dies much quicker than any other German BB when it mispositions/pushes too early.

A good build is: hide using alidad with Essen and revel. I consistently get good damage with that and not too terrible accuracy

If you play in a squad the ship is great too have for your allies, especially running wtr, and ver much if you have prince rupert or f.grob, definitely a ship id pick up an keep playing if your good at brawling BBs even if prince rupe is better, this ship definitely can withstand punishment the entire game

I recommend using inspiration al fusoa Japanese special bb commander i have her maxed andway better u get main and secondary battery boosted fire chance all the time. It gives up to 3 percent fire chance on all shells from ur battle ship.when I use al fusao as inspiration I get sentiment 15 fires per game from secondaries alone.deff try it out.

Pommern is way too late imo, should have come before Prinz Rupprecht, she is just a different F. der Grosse but worse overhaul, and a fifth campain BB that isn't needed, she would have made a better tier 8 flagship than République, now she is just your average German BB

It’s the H class hull. GK and FDG suffer from the same things this does. Sluggish ship, bad secondary locations, and awful gun angles. I love the German BBs but Bismarck, Tirpitz, Brandenburg, Zeatin, Prince Rupprecht, and even Scharnhorst all play way better than those ships.

Im always impressed with the fact that most CCs dont understand CVs or Brawling BBs, whenever they pick a secondary ship they just go in, where most of the enemy team is alive and throw their ship away like the typical dented german bb commander, not using islands to limit enemies firing at them or just being at secondary range and let the enemy cook and preserve HP for the late game, i like your vids but honestly you seem lost.

Tomorrow i will get this ship for just 2500 golden coins... i mean... some tier 8 ships on the shop go for 30/40 k coins, fuking impossible to get, i should spend thousands of euros to get them, i mean, for a poor noob who likes the game, i can trow 10 euros in a ship, besides, having 1700 coins now + 2750 coins package + 750 from unblocking milestones + 250 coins from the yamato project ill end up whit 3000 more or less coins. After 7 months, i think is a piece of shit, BUT, now i have some good commanders, and i also did quite a lot of learning doing all the german battlecruiser line, so now i can use the pommern, i survive mich more and i enjoy it, hoping one day will have a small buff, cause those main guns are truly atrocious 3:40 look that montana, untouched. That is the pommern experience...
