The Problem With The Minecraft Mace

The mace is brilliant. I understand your critiques, but I have some counter-arguments. 1. In order to one shot the mob, you must meet the EXTREMELY slim circumstance of a mob being standing still several blocks below you. Given random pathfinding and the time it takes to fall, the only way to guarantee a one shot is actually using Minecraft's combat system perfectly. See, Minecraft's combat isn't very deep with weapons or attacks, but it utilizes the entire point of the game instead. When you fight, you need to set things up. When you fight a creeper you need a space, to run back and forth to stop it from exploding, zombies fight in hordes so you need to limit them to one front, guardians are blocked by breaking line of sight, the Wither needs a long tunnel so you can run to safety when it dashes. The mace gives you a reward for this setup. 2. PvP. There is actually a huge counter for this. See, unlike mobs, you can consciously move away, or place a trap for them as they fall. Lava or dripstone.

i think the main problem with the mace is breach. the enchantment has very little use in survival, but completely invalidates swords in pvp. you don't have to gain height or anything, it simply just does more damage against armor

I dont think the mace was op before the enchants. If you wanted to kill the warden you needed to drop from 100+ blocks. Which isnt very practical in the deep dark.

I think they should at least limit how much damage you can do when falling like at a certain hight it’s maxes out the damage the hight which it maxes out the damage would have to be way below the block limit or at least as you said “make it harder to obtain”

Imo just make it so with the heavy core, you need to surround it by 8 netherite or potentially even blocks to get mace head or sumn so crafting is harder

Mace should lose durability based on fall height, so if you fall from build limit to delete whatever you hit, the mace would instantly break.

I think the mace should be reverted to it's original state, not being able to enchant and just less damage. I saw someone saying to limit the max amount of damage , which I agree with! To counter the mace I would say crystals but someone said that they're too expensive. People can make a farm out of almost ANYTHING so I doubt getting a bunch of crystals is gonna be difficult if you know what you are doing. (also just wanted to say that they also mentioned farming maces but nothing about farming crystals? (idk I just thought that was funny to me)) P.S people can and WILL carry an inventory of totems if they're fully expecting a pvp

i did the math. against prot 4 netherite mace has double dps of a sword and more single hit than an axe. not even using falling. just breach

@@TCMCGMB You can one shot a player in fully enchanted netherite from like 5 blocks up with an enchanted mace. If you have wind burst and they have a totem, thats just 1 tap, totem pop, 2 tap dead. Plain simple.
