Which ones have you had? I've had just one with Google maps showing a blank screen when I hit the camera shortcut once and technically the "bug" (that's not a bug) of lines on the screen when it's off and I press the power button. That's not a bug because it's off it's booting up so it has no image to display. That's just a screen power scan. Most phones are told to display a blank screen during that to hide this. Not to mention it's never off I just found it after reading about that and tried it. I'd have never known. That's literally it for mine. Sounds like hype to me for most people. I see just as much posts that don't really have any issues. I'm on the December update. It came in OTA before it was pulled via At&t in the U.S.

@@benjmiester many little visual bugs. Hard to name them all. For example, when I let my screen turn off there is a small bright horizontal line coming from the right side of the screen. I have the pixel 6 and I get all these bugs as well. It also lights up my flashlight in my pocket and the phone gets hot (that's how I know it did it again) and the speaker on WhatsApp is unusable (works great on a normal phone call - the speaker works fine on the same whatsapp version on my P30 Pro). I think they were in a rush to release it and they didn't look for any bugs at all. I'm actually considering going back to my P30 pro and ditching this one, it's really annoying and I actually hate the phone.

I’ve had the exact same issues on the Pixel 6 coming from the P30 pro also I was expecting a better upgrade. I’ve filled in the RMA with my provider EE in the UK. The Pixel 6 is really not ready as a flagship phone. Green tint on the screen, inconsistent notifications, android auto shutting down, the stupid decision on the charging situation. @@catboy3471 I pre-ordered my Pixel 2XL, the only issue I ever noticed was at a glance not always showing the weather. It only recently just started slowing down (so around 4 years). Which seemed to be related to the HD being a bit full, clearing out some space helped speed things up until my 6 pro came in. So far no issues, but I do get there is an argument to be made for consistency and there is certainly an expectation for the price. I just wonder if the issues are really as wide spread as some people make it seem. You can say the same for all 3 huge tech companies. My iPhone 11 Pro with iOS 15 when that launched was incredibly buggy. Just some really sloppy stuff that I'm surprised made it into the launch build and massive battery drain. Windows 11 is also really not ready for prime time.

The same can be said for any big software company, I recently just bought an iPhone 13 pro, and it was going good at first until sometimes it would freeze and then one time it just turned off on me, which never happened when my SIM card was in my S20 FE, then now the phone doesn't get service anywhere, I thought it was a provider issue, they gave me a new SIM card, did everything and still I can barely get any service anywhere I go, and even if I do it is just for like a few minutes, I'm not trying to bad mouth apple because I really love the phone but the big 3 companies all have their own issues, they all have their own shortcomings, but we as consumers need to push them to make the right changes

In fact, Google's real big problem is always wanting to save money at the hardware level and always taking the cheapest quality possible, thinking that the software will be able to compensate for. Yes it's true software is very important and can compensate in some cases, but having quality hardware from the start is the best. And when I analyze, I have the impression that Google's problem with Android 12 is that it (Android 12) has been optimized for the Tensor (actually a renamed Exynos). The problem is that it's brand new processor for Google engineers who have always worked on Snapdragons and above all what many people pretend to ignore is that most apps on Android are optimized for Snapdragons and not Exynos. The proof is that Samsung, which is used to optimizing its Exynos smartphones, has fewer problems on Android 12 than any other Android manufacturer.

Having come from a 2XL, my 6 Pro has been amazing. I can't say I've noticed framerate drops, even if they are there, likely because it's still better than my 2XL had. Yes, the fingerprint reader can be slow. Maybe once the latest update rolls out, MKB's experience will improve. The fact that I haven't had the same problems, however, makes me wonder if there's something he's running that I don't that is causing the problems. The ONLY truly annoying issues I've had is that I sometimes have to hit the power button to turn the screen on when picking it up or tapping the screen should do the trick (especially since I have always-on screen mode), and that when in my car the last media player I was using will suddenly "take over" even after I start up another one, sometimes even when doing something mundane like changing the volume on my head unit.

After many experients I found a few ways to improve the finger print sensor speed. 1. Put your most used finger -- in my case, right thumb -- first in the list of finger prints. 2. put your most used finger twice. 3. Just upgraded from a Samsung S10 and wish I could go back. There seems to be little to no customization options - you can only choose 4 colors options for the menus/settings, etc. The quick settings menu is a joke and so ugly with the pill style. You cannot quickly change between wifi on/off or between the bluetooth devices like you can on the much older samsung. You are given the worlds ugliest lock screen with the text covering up your whole wallpaper, with no other options. The fingerprint reader is crap. There is no way to remove the google search bar on the main home page unless you use an outside 3rd party launcher. The phone seems to get hot really quickly. The bluetooth doesn't sync with my car as quickly as my older Samsung. I could go on and on, but talk about disappointing. Hopefully I can upgrade to the S22 without paying out the butt.

Been a hardcore pixel user since the 1, but yeah, the bugs and issues really do drive you away. My 1 was fine, my 2 was fine, the 3 had a hardware issue with the Camera that prevented it from working, thankfully I was about to get out of the phone and get a replacement. My 4 was stable but had tons of software bugs since 2020ish, do not disturb was a big one, and lately the past few months, since upgrading to 12, was insanely buggy/laggy, and it wasn't the phone being 'old' either, as sometimes it would work perfectly fine, and others it wouldn't. Example; I got a phonecall while driving, but it wouldn't display the call, super laggy, just ringing, I exit navigation after the ringtone ends, re-enter navigation, and all of a sudden its working perfectly fine when the person calls back and I'm able to see who's calling, answer, and its fully functional. The entire maps/youtube music situation is a lag-fest too. I had skipped the 5 because it was basically a 'downgrade' from the 4, or certainly not a flagship, so I kept it for a generation. I just recently upgraded to the 6 due to the lag from my 4, which again, is primarily software, which I only did because honestly finding a 'better' phone wasn't really worth it, they all had cons that for me made the pixel worth it, even if it had bugs, or they were way more expensive that the 6, which made it harder to justify buying. I wanted to go Sony, but at double the price, I didn't know if it was justifiable, so I just stuck with 6 for now. If you're not in the google eco-system though, its worth it to go with another option.

Nope mine's been fine too. I don't think they're any worse than any other phone, probably even better. They get judged more harshly because there is a lot less of them so the ratio of buggy ones is higher. Apple and Samsung have thousands and thousands of phones that break screw up and catch on fire (yes apple too!!) but out of tens of millions of phones in the field, a few thousand seems like nothing. The grand total of issues I've had are one time I was using maps and I tried to open the camera and the screen was blank so I had to minimize maps and use the camera shortcut again. Also I was able to see the lines on the screen when you press the power button if it's off but that's a complete non-issue because why would I ever press the power button when my phone is off except to turn it on? And why would I care what my screen displays or doesn't display before it boots? I'm actually on the December update over the air. I apparently got it before it was pulled. In the U.S.

@@FSUSean2112 I had a few issues with "system UI not responding", the screen turning black when notifications show, a few camera issues, and a few other weird bugs that seemingly nobody else was having. Updated to the Jan patch and all these issues are gone. Running perfectly since then. Some have experienced and are still experiencing signal issues, and issues with calls dropping. I never had that issue and am still not, which makes me wonder if it's a carrier issue with the phone, or perhaps a manufacturing defect on some phones? But overall my experience is positive.

The only bugs I've had with the P6P came with infamous December update that knocked the signal strength and Wi-Fi. January's update appears to have resolved those issues along with improving the performance of the finger print sensor. I'm very satisfied with the P6P and further updates will hopefully bring even more value to this phone. Google knows they can't fluff things up if they want to make serious inroads into the smartphone market.

I've never had a camera open faster on any phone. Is this not how it always is/was? Which phones do it faster? I'm guessing I'm probably one of the ones that's not having the issue since the issues seem to be pretty much random and some of use seem to have none at all somehow. I've only noticed one so far which was actually way back when I first got it and that was when I was using voice nav, I hit the camera shortcut and it went to a blank screen instead of the viewfinder. I had to minimize and then hit the cam shortcut again but that's the grand total of (1) issues I've ever had with mine. FP sensor could def be faster but it's adequate and it's sped up since I got it. Pressing down firmly helped a ton from when that article came out.

Ya, they don't have that problem, the problem they have is Apple making there phones slower on purpose so they have to buy a new one. I think I'd rather have my phone slow over time naturally then the company I'm buying from doing it on purpose to make you buy another. Maybe I'm just weird like that I prefer honesty over a mega company overlord making me buy new.

Owned the pixel 3, 4 and 5. Never had many issues in the 1 year I used them. The Pixel 5 was the perfect phone really, never had a single lag or slow down. I decided to skip the 6 for reasons (don't want tio early adpot to tensor, didnt like the chin-bezel, think the pro should've offered more) so I'm on a z flip 3 now, my first Samsung. And what should I say: it has some serious lags on me, and sometimes does not at all react. I had high hopes for Samsung since everyone seemed to hate on pixel exclusively. After this quite horrible experience I was hoping for the pixel 7 this year but seeing how google handles the pixel 6 (pro) problems I'm seriously considering an iphone for the first time. I'm a "nerd", but then again I'm old-er now and don't have time for side loading and fixing my broken phone every now and then.
