WHAT IN GOD'S NAME SHOULD I EAT TO BE HEALTHY? Eliminated all the conventional meat and dairy, replaced them with organic staff. Eliminated all the grains and sugar, replaced them with green leafy vegetables. I have been chewing spinach and in one of your videos you said it contains oxalate, which causes kidney stones. Fine, switched over to Kale and now this video ... I have been struggling with acne for many years and I know only one thing that does not cause the break outs - WATER. Don't take me wrong, I don't mind drinking water but you know ... I need some food as well. I am 22 years of age, don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, swim, practice judo, workout. There is no simple answer to healthy eating.. whatever you eat there will be healthy and unhealthy effects on your body. You can change this ratio by changing your diet. However it's impossible to completely eliminate unhealthy effects. So stop worrying too much. Just keep your diet as healthy as possible.

Yep, I am one of the 20% who can't digest kale. I was on a kale kick last summer and made a juice of kale, carrot, ganny smith apple, fennel and ginger. Well after 4 days of stomach indigestion I learned my lesson. No kale for me. I learned that kale is in the cruciferous family which I can't digest any of them as well. I take a probiotic but nothing was going to digest that kale. I make my green shake with organic powdered wheatgrass juice. I use spinach in my quiche recipe and in salads, but No kale!

Kale is super healthy but if you are not used to a rich fibre food I would introduce it first in small amounts. Not only kale but all sorts of green leafy vegetables, broccoli, beets, beans lentils etc… as your gut flora adapts to the higher fibre content you’ll feel less bloated. :) just be persistent and always eat in small amount all types of vegetables and as you get used to it you can increase the quantity. :)

@@eliaspkay oh yes. You can make smoothies out of kale or eat it raw in salad. But because the leaf is a bit harder some people might not like it much. You can steam it to make it more tender.

Bleedinggums roberts; Raw kale may not affect everyone the same way.Try it with small amount to start with. IT IS the best green vegie with lots of minerals, vitamins and even protein. So, I'd not brush it off. Or you can use Swiss chard and Spinach. These are my main vegies.

when you are home, work up to more raw. you can always pack a cooler with salads and juices, especially if you have an electric one you can plug into in your truck. you can juice and freeze, then put in cooler and will last a few days at least. otherwise, snacks like raw nuts and seed that have been soaked and dehydrated are good. takes prep, but worth the effort. try to focus on small changes otherwise you get overloaded. and stay hydrated!

You can get constipated from too much fibre for sure. In fact it can be the leading cause of constipation. If your having problems with your gut, make sure to thoroughly research the difference between soluble had insoluble fibre. 9 out of 10 GP's will just tell you "eat more fibre" without having a clue of what they are talking about. You need to speak to an expert for real advice or research your own. A GP is like your local mechanic. They can change your oil but you wouldn't trust them with your Rolls Royce. Your body is your Rolls Royce 😊

She was having massive stomach problems...she cut back to 1-3 cloves a WEEK and her skin is amazing and she feels great. That all being said..I bought a pre packaged mixed greens on 2 different occasions in the last few weeks and I get Huge stomach ache. Something in it is bothering me..I don’t know what. I was fine with kale for slightly over a week. Then I started to get very nauseous drinking it. Perhaps it was oxylate overdose. The experience also put me off spinach, but I'm still fine with cabbage, broccoli, zucchini, etc. Herbs are more nutrient dense in that a lesser amount of herbs provides the same potassium as a larger amount of green vegetables.

Thanks for this video. I'd love to hear more about digestion. You focus on health first weight loss follows which I totally love. I've noticed many assume everyones digestion is fine and their heartburn is from spicy food or acne eczema or constipation is from not eating healthy foods and fiber. But maybe they have a digestive system thats out of wack. Anways love your knowledge sharing, keep it up. And the Adrenal body type supplements worked great for me... when I followed healthy diet. I'll get back on it, just gotta say no to that sugar, its so evil :(

I think improperly digested fiber is what causes constipation. As he said, the microbes in your gut can only consume so much fiber. Without them, we can't digest it. So if they're overloaded, the rest is left undigested. Fiber is great, but too much of anything is bad.

Funny how a vegetable becomes the "best thing on the planet" , but give it enough time and people will look for something to condemn it. Kale was, is, and always will be good for you, you just can't do what most Americans do, and that's take it to extremes. That being said, we are all bio-identically different, and foods have different effects on different people. Listen to your body, but I will bet a rational amount of kale in the diet will be in your best health interest!

@birage9885
@birage9885 7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, remember that we need diversity in our diet. Mixing greens will give a broader spectrum of nutrients, rather than just eating a lot of one particular type of green that may be strong in certain nutrients, but lacking in others, hence the reason to include many different types of vegetables (providing you don't have an allergy or reaction to any sort of food). Also, cruciferous vegetables, as well as most vegetables are better digested when cooked and eliminate the goitrigen factor that allegedly suppresses the thyroid. If you have a strong digestive sytem you may not have a problem with raw vegetables, but people with SIBO, for example, have a hard time with raw and should stay with cooked. As they say, listen to your body. If you get gassy, crampy, etc., you may need to cook your greens. Good luck and be healthy.

You should also point out that, like spinach, Kale is great in terms of phytonutrients . . . but it does contain oxalic acid, which in excessive amounts may cause kidneys stones, gout, rheumatoid arthritis. The key is to consume kale (here's that loaded word again) in "moderation"; don't over do it. Listen to your body (if you feel funny afterwards, cut back) . Also, lightly boiling, steaming or fermentation reduces the amount of oxalic acid.
