❤💐🌹Pozdrawiam serdecznie

I actually processed raw fleeces, made my own loom, hand carded and hand spun on an 1880s spinning wheel I repaired producing hundreds of skeins. These were also hand dyed by me as well. Then I wove my daughters and I small rugs by hand without a shuttle. The one daughter left hers in a storage and then let a friend have the contents. The other daughter used hers for her feet below a desk never seen by others...I am the only one that has mine to display. This brought back memories of mine. I thought I was making heirloom gifts for my girls and how disappointing it was to see how little they valued all my hard work. These blankets are PRICELESS!

@@watershipdown3630 Thank you for your kind words... I have gotten over it and learned a valuable lesson. Both my daughters were also Mothers at the time. My sons both cherish everything I ever gave them. Keeping them separate from their other clothing items so its always hand washed! They should have been the ones I guess the rugs should have gone to. I have gifted afghans done with organic Himalayan cotton yarn I found at a thrift store and also ordered more to crochet them to give to both of my nieces with new babies...they consider those heirlooms and I didn't even spin the yarn so lesson learned.

Rugs are supposed to be used at one's feet. I'd be so happy to have something I made be used every day for someone's comfort!
@romy459318 күн бұрын
@@RavenAttwoode She does not even have it anymore. I even went to farms to get that raw fleece, made the loom and spent so much time on them. I would not have minded them in a living area, or even a bedroom floor. It was hidden from view and not seen again after using for a short while. 75 hours each and I was so excited as I used not only all my own handspun yarn I did from raw fleece, I also dyed it all myself! Of course it was a rug but beautiful enough to have in the open. Most people actually hang this type of work I did on a wall like a tapestry.... My sons use and keep all I give them. My girls no longer have them. Imagine how these ladies would feel if their hard work was discarded? Its not about use its about creating something you felt was an heirloom to gift family and the rugs are both gone? Made of the finest fibers!

Parabens. Trabalho incrivel. Obrigado.

Patience , dedication and a love for this craft is all too evident. Thank you for this beautiful video. Loved the music played as its background score. It heightened the beautiful drama that unfolded. Please may I know the name of the piece , and also the lady crafts person's name. A special salute to her.❤❤❤

People don't realize the time involved. I have to explain at craft shows it takes me a week to wash raw wool from my sheep, then spend days carding it. I can spin about 8 ounces in 6 hours. Then to dye it. Then weaving takes time depending on how big you are making something.

I have a blanket made in Europe Ukraine from the mountains a little village that makes these beautifull blankets. I picked it up slightly damaged from a second hand store that considerd it no good gave it to me free, they called it a horse blanket but it is not ,I was shocked 4 years later to find its value ,it's a small. Blanket is in natural colours specific pattern of the area. .When I found out what it was I cried, and temporarily repaired the holes until I get the proper materials, it is now my treasure. I only hope the conflict over there does not reach the village.❤
