It's hard to believe that this is a high school production. I've seen theaters companies who could not do so well.

They let a show with THIS song be produced in a high school?! That said, I agree, the cast is very good.
@onemercilessming1342Ай бұрын
@lieutinantwhoareyou8839 In 1967, the beginning of my senior year in high school, my high school band played "The Stripper" (the song from a Gillette razor blade commercial) and our majorettes wore long opera gloves and peeled them off before we began our routine. It was considered quite scandalous at the time. Then came Broadway's "Oh, Calcutta" and "Hair," and we weren't quite so scandalous, after all. "The times, they are a-changin' ".

they did a great job adapting the movie for the stage.
@singenstattatmen50964 жыл бұрын
You do realize it was the other way round first, yes? ^^ Well at the very start came a movie, then came a Broadway musical (starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick) and that musical was again done as a movie (starring the same Bloom and Bilaystock), though to the most part it was staged almost exactly the same way as the stage musical. :)

@@singenstattatmen5096 i know the 1st movie was from the 60's. but i'm talking about this remake. which this stage play was based on.
@singenstattatmen50964 жыл бұрын
@@desiguy55 Yes? The remake was based on the Broadway musical. So, it was already based on a stage version and kept incredibly close to it. Like, this song in particular, the camera doesn't even really move about the room, showing it just from one side like watching it on stage. I'm not saying these guys didn't do a good job, they did, but they didn't really have to do any adapting at all. It was already there as a stage version, then filmed with some minor changes. Whether they based it on said movie or the Broadway show, there wasn't really any adapting to be done. I hope we're not just miscommunicating here, do you understand what I'm trying to say?

Actress does get off pitch at times, but Ulla is very much about the physical side. She delivers the lines well, but the singing is not exactly in dialect. Still hard to believe this is a HS production, looks more like community theater.

Bloom and Bialystock were much better in this scene! You must have had the jitters in the first scene, or maybe you were compensating for lack of time. Either way, I can now see why you were chosen for your roles.

I think Grease is on the same level as The Producers (It's about Sex) but My school would also never do this show. However, we've done many shows like Youre a Good Man Charlie Brown, Into the Woods, The Wiz, Hairspray, and next school year we're doing "The Music Man"

Surprised to not even see shows like, well, like the Music Man. The Music Man is a fun friendly show that needs a megacast but is really fun. So is Into-The-Woods, except Into-The-Woods is usually a bit...sad, but that's beyond the point

Your acting is flawless, but your comedic timing is rushed. You barely give the audience any time to laugh at the jokes.
