The fall of the capital Greenwich pretty much cemented the fall of the Sundayan Empire. The military was by that time falling into disarray, and the government fled to the continental province of North America. After several military blunders, the Emperor abdicated and the provisional government of the Republic of Sunday took over, however the government was in chaos and couldn’t stop their eventual capitulation with the capture of the last bastions in North America. On 12:00 AM, the remaining forces of the Republic of Sunday capitulated, marking the end of Sunday, and the end of the Sundayan Civil War.

These islands have stong business relations with Australia/NZ, so they shifted time zones from UTC-11/UTC-10 to UTC+13/UTC+14 (essentially keeping the same time but advancing a day) to make trade relations easier (same weekdays/weekends as their main business partners, so banks would open and close together). Which makes them 25 hours ahead of the nearby ocean zones (and thus sometimes 2 "days" ahead), but you can't have everything.

On international flights, passengers can see the progression of sunrise/sunset in solar terms (as a parabola) rather than by the artificial time zones. The animation is the default option on the seat back video screen.

Good to see that this acknowledges Norfolk Island time (that tiny speck between Australia and New Zealand at 0:20) and Central Western Time (that sliver on the south Australian south coast at 0:24)

Sunday fought bravely but Monday was just too strong. The sheer naval superiority of Monday allowed them to sweep across the oceans easily, and invading the land was no different. The time zones were taken one by one. It would be a long time before the weekend would shine again.

The great Sunday-Monday war was definetly one of the most 1 sided wars in history. Poor Sunday was completely obliterated RIP Sunday :(

That's what I am always saying. The international line isn't splitting between two days, but the line that split between days is actually the moving line of 00:00.
