Nice job, Ken. I remember the accident. I can see why you just left it there. If that resin had just set up in the cup, you would probably have just tossed it out and done something else with the wood. This way, you have some accomplishment to move forward from what could have been an end to your woodworking. This vase looks great and, if you didn't explain why it was made the way it is - no one would even know because it can stand on its own. However, the fact that you took the adversity and turned it into something this good looking - I would not make a lid ... I would use it the way it is and proudly display it - never sell it or give it away. Looking forward to your next project.

Hi hi, from your notes and things on thing it seems we process things in a sort of similar way. With that similarity in mine some crap happened in my past that lead to PTSD. It’s since been treated by a variety of means. The last and single most effective was EMDR. I’m not assuming this is an issue for you but if it is I highly recommend trying it. Hang in there, great to see you back in the shop! 🖤

Hey Kristi, I appreciate the info. I have PTSD from issues in the military. I found after years of issues and incidents that no person is an island and reach out for help before I did something drastic didn’t show weakness. I’ve been getting help for a few years now. It’s an ongoing process and They are trying many programs. EMDR was one they tried a while back.

Beautiful project, but my only question is that if this was for money how could you possibly make any profit, I turn for enjoyment myself so I hardly ever sell anything, but if I wanted to how would you go about doing that on something like this.

Really depends on who you sell too. I sell most of my items to people in NY, Virginia, Oregon. and a few other places. Locally, I sell maybe one or two pieces a year as this price point for my pieces is high than the market will bare. I can discuss my pricing via email if you would like.
