Great review; thanks for all the details, even the subjective points (which you cover very well). A bit disappointed in the battery, but that is my use case (very mobile during the day, gaming nights and weekends) - but still good to know. The MECH-15 G3 Ultra Performance 15.6" has similar specs - but a bigger battery - if the performance ends up the same, it might be a better option for some people. thanks for the video.

Keyboard is exactly the same as the medion erazer I bought back in 2017. I think that was a sweaty laptop nerd style laptop too, but this one is so much thinner and of course more powerful. I'm excited with where laptops are atm and where they're heading

There's so much more to those 2 to 4 years: meeting new people, taking classes on subjects you are interested in, learning how to think critically, and, if attending a residential college, learning to live on your own in a relatively safe and secure environment. In other words, the experience exists for its own sake, and those who want to go to college to study language arts, humanities, and other degrees that don't have clear paths to stable careers shouldn't be dissuaded from their path. If you WANT to go to college, go to college. You don't have to onboard massive debt to do so -- there are plenty of perfectly serviceable local and state universities. If you DON'T want to go to college, then don't; it's no guarantee that it's going to get you a stable job, especially in this corporo-centric political environment where unions and worker's rights are basically non-existent.

Be aware that Eluktronics has no clue when they will get you your laptop. I emailed them for two weeks to try and get an update on my order and I kept getting a generic “Be Patient” I finally decided to call and see if I could get any more information out of them and I got the same “be patient” line. When I told the representative Kieth that, that was not acceptable because they already had my money, and all I was looking for was some kind of update, Kieth HUNG UP THE PHONE. I quickly called back and cancel my order. I want do business with a company that thinks this is a OK response.

This is not affordable or cheap but any means. The new ASUS G15 is $1700 at BestBuy. The configuration you mention in the video(ryzen 5800+3080) is $2499 with only 512gigs of storage. If you want 1tb it's $2699...... For $1700 I can get a reputable brand with the ryzen 5900 and 1tb of storage.

The reason why there is an option for disabling Half track pad, coz right half of that huge trackpad is exactly under the keyboard typing portion where your palm rests. So, in a typing/work session, to avoid accidental movement, that option is critical to have.

The fan size is the reason it stays cool! The Asus g751jt with the 970m barely heats up to 60f degrees when gaming for hours. Open it up and notice the size of the fans! They are huge! Same design was used for then Asus g752 with the 1070.

On the hinge issue, Lenovo Y50-70 is one of them, as I'm using one now (which I got it from my cousin). Not 2 months after I got it, the hinge started to break. My cousin doesn't have this issue although she has been using it for around 2 years I think because she doesn't move the laptop around, hence doesn't really ever open/close the lid as often as people usually do. I fixed this hinge issue by drilling a hole at the screen casing and put 2 steel plates.

I have Acer VX 15, I faced the similar problem you mentioned with the hinges...It is an very known issue with my model...The hinges of my laptop got broke within 6months of a use...Then had to fight with Acer to get replaced the whole back panel,as they were taking this as an accident case...After the replacement the issue got reappeared...Then fabrication helped me to resolve the problem...

I think that the reason why you can disconnect one side of the mousepad is that so if you rest your palm on it, it won't move the mouse cursor; could come in handy when gaming and typing papers.

i think that feature of turning off the left side of the trackpad is for those people who use the laptop keypad(am one of them) cuz sometimes ur hand rubs against the track pad moving ur cursor. but then again there is feature of turning off the trackpad when a mouse gets plugged in.
