From reading the Manga, watching the anime, and my own experiences with extremely smart people; she suffers from performance anxiety. Also less apparent, she suffers from, what my sergeant calls "IQ paralysis", basically because she's so smart her mind rapid-fires everything that can go wrong, then she has to find a way to solve the issues. This causes a feedback loop that's hard to break out of. If she doesn't have some support she'll stay like that until she's forced into a reactive role which is bad in combat. I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong but I am saying that your analysis is surface-level. I can already hear your rebuttal, "but deku..." and I agree but he's the MC, he has MC plot armor.

Exactly, there is also the point that honestly no one in MHA is really all that powerful. Everyone have their own majorly glaring weaknesses somehow. Some are tied to their quirks and some to personality and some just physique. Deku can't use his arms, Momo freezes, Todoroki wouldn't use half his Quirk. Was a pretty major theme early on and over the course of the series each character overcame that weakness because... well they're kids. So I'm sure we'll see more from Momo in the anime once more that involves her actually occurs

Almost every top tier quirk has a baseline speed and strength amp cause it doesn't matter how much you can do if the person you are fighting can move faster than you can think and blow everything you build away with a fl8ck of their finger. This is a consistent problem with everyone who struggles in the series. She is a prep specialised superhero and she has shone when that is needed.

I always thought that creating a skinny character for her was the wrong choice. Lipids (fats) benefit her quirk and she would be better in regards to her powers if she were chubbier… I never understood why they kept her so skinny, the only justification is maybe if she didn’t have her power she actually would be quite chubby but the power continually burns those fats away so maybe she has a really hard time putting on weight or maintaining a healthy weight w/o shriveling to nothing…

I think hulk explained it best in a similar manner during the avengers animated show when he said that hulks are basically walking reactors, or how the flash is super thin but eats five figures of calories a day due to the metabolism. I think part of hers and sugar rushes training was them actually having to learn to eat a large amount quickly because of how fast they burned it off

Logically speaking tho, the biggest drawback is that the ability uses fats to generate objects. Fat has 3 main functions: energy storage, insulation, and impact reduction. Over-usage could cause shock due to temperature differences, inability to move due to depletion of energy reserves, and, if no fat is left in the body, it’s likely that most impacts that occur towards the body would result in bruising or worse.

A lot of people seem to be confusing being book smart for being combat smart. It's one thing to understand something on a technical level to form something using your own body fat, it's an entirely different thing to formulate strategies in which what creatons would be the most helpful in dangerous scenarios without causing unnecessary damage, noise, harm, or waste of a very limited supply of body fat. Imagine trying to think of a way to safely detain someone while having giant hands slam against the only form of defense you're able to muster on a rattled mind. It seems easy to use their power when you forget about the morality and principles of the character, and forget the person is more than just their power, they're people too.
