Great to see it finished. Mabey you should consider installing vacuum brake on it in the far future. I've always had an intrest in Sir william mcalpine as my dad was present at the 1988 Aussteam 88 and traveld behind 4472 on a trip from Melbourne/spencer street to seymour. Love the vid mate it brought a tear to my eye.😊😊👍

I've played with the idea of vac, but installing is expensive, she never had it, and would rarely get to use it. Never say never though! Oh that's quite the thing to have done! Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

@@lmm thanks for the reply. And i see that the ruston 48's big brother in background is having a repaint.

Yeah, they're using some of the left over paint from mine. Hopefully we'll have the pair of them in green for next year.

This might sound strange, but i'm glad you've not kept it 100% original and made it yours with this. To many people are hung up on "originality" that they forget that these things were regularly changed. It's a lovely name, I'm sure he is smiling down and muttering "It's not an A3, but I love it" You're living every railfans dream. Enjoy yourself.

Thank you, I get what you mean! I'm currently considering the concept of having it lined. I think she looks pretty good as is though. I really hope that he is. I am having quite a large amount of fun!

@@lmm Please do consider lining. That would be the icing on the cake. Take care, have fun.

Hey, I loved this video, beautiful! :) I can see why you are so mad about this little locomotive! :D If only we had a good train simulator... :( the ones we do have are not my cup of tea.

It's a magnificent little thing. The train sims don't capture anything like the sensation of driving a Loco. Glad you enjoyed it.

As much as I would've loved to see Sir William name the loco, I think Lady McAlpine was brilliant, adding her anecdotes to the occasion... I don't think I've ever seen you smile so much, or waffle on as much haha 😂 Here's to the little 48! 🍻🥂
