I don't know why people are so surprised that Sony showcased the PS5 Pro by showing old games running on it. If you want to show off how much better your new system is, then showing it running games that people are deeply familiar with makes sense to me. That way, they can say, "Oh! This looks so much better on the new system. It's clearly more powerful." I'm not saying they were successful in this endeavour, but it seems to be the correct approach.

The problem was that nobody sane said "Oh! this looks so much better" because it didn't. Differences were so negligible that most people couldn't even see the difference. As the guys said, with PS4 pro it filled a need for a mid-gen upgrade with a substantial improvement in visuals. With PS5 pro, I genuinely don't' think there is a single game current or upcoming that they could have used to make the upgrade seem impressive or worth it, in a sense I'd say that you are right that it was the correct approach, but I think the entire demonstration itself just demonstrated it's not needed. Also the price is problematic, you see a lot of people arguing with "Well how much did you expect it to cost" but the issue isn't with expecting a lower price or not having the money for it, the issue is that a console is only allowed to cost a certain amount before it enters the domain of the PC, and with the cheapest territory being the USA at $700 before the stand, before the PS+ subscription for the online play, physical drive, etc... It's starting to step into PC territory hard and the price is no longer justifiable. After everything is said and done, PS5 pro will cost more people close to a thousand bucks, you can get a PC that is on par or outperforms the pro, gives you greater control over the game settings, ability to mod your games, no need for a paid subscription to play multiplayer, platforms like Amazon and Epic games constantly giving out free game, access to the last 8 console generations worth of games via emulation, it's honestly ridiculous how much money a person is expected to sink into the PS5 Pro at a fraction of control, freedom, or personalization of a PC. The main thing consoles had over PC for the longest time was the piece of mind, the "it just works" mentality. But these days, I logged in to my PS5 today and first it needed to update the system because I can't do anything before that, then it needed to update the controller because that's not optional, then it needed to update the game. There's no advantage over the PC anymore. At least on PC I could have clicked "remind me later" and moved past the update screens.

gta 6 wont be that demanding, its the same engine as gta 5 and red dead 2 and it has to run on base ps5, series s, series x etc. Anyone with a 3060 or better is fine.
