It hit me like break, “need strong male who is independent, lead and protect you, keep you safe, but someone does whatever they want, don’t care about your feelings, at beginning fall in love with strength and security, in end become abusive “🤯🤯🤯🤯

Awesome Interview! I have a guarded compassionate view of Aileen Wuornos, maybe because she grew up a few miles from where I grew up. As far as Jeffrey Dahmer, I remember his father saying that his wife had mental issues around the time Jeffrey was conceived. "During the special, viewers learned that Joyce suffered from mental illness and reportedly took up to 27 pills a day while she was pregnant - including antidepressants, progesterone, and growth hormones. Many speculated that the cocktail of prescription medication could have affected the fetus." Also, she did not want anyone to touch the baby because she was so afraid of infection. He only had physical contact with his mother and that was to feed him. His father said they had a normal upbringing but obviously that is not the case.

OMG YES PLEASE! This is not talked about enough. My mom is a textbook narcissist and I don’t use that term lightly. She is the definition. She belittles me, she’s more amazing than everybody else, nothing is ever her fault... it’s mine (duh), embarrasses me for the thrill of it, has no insight etc. She emotionally abused mostly me and also my brother SO bad growing up that I have no self esteem, I have a crippling inferiority complex, and my brother who’s 25 just got a vasectomy because he doesn’t want to be “trapped” by a woman like my mom. He’s also never had a girlfriend. This is serious stuff and I have so much resentment for her. I feel into SERIOUS substance abuse directly because of the emotion manipulation and belittling I experienced. I moved across the country from New York to California to get away from her and the toxic environment that I was in and I went home to visit for Christmas and relapsed within 24 hours. My dad left her because she did the same thing to him… It’s just terrible. Did you have a similar experience?

I always take a pause when Dr.Kirk says "Charlie Manson". My brain goes "WHO?" and it takes a while until I get "A-haa! Charles Manson!". Charlie sounds so very benign that I have a hard time connecting it to Manson.

Did anyone else laugh when the host implied that Dr H. is an expert in serial killers and asks him what drew him to that field? Knowing Dr H. for the part year and Knowing how much this isn't true was actually hilarious. Poor Doc, I would have felt so uncomfortable if I were in his position and had somebody claiming I am an expert in a field I am not....it has actually happened at my workplace, and to keep your face straight and come across like you know what you are talking about/ doing, is really stressful

It was interesting to hear Dave set up certain questions & frame your expertise, he is charismatic for sure but I worry he has a motive or bias -for entertainment purposes on his podcast- and I hope your chat with him opened up his as well as his audience's perspective. Still very interesting topics even though you sort of went in somewhat blind; you are a good sport, Kirk lol

the motive of this radio host seems to be on front display. he seems to fall back on 1990s conservative talking points a lot.
