Shaan emphasizes that the purpose of anxiety recovery is not solely to eliminate symptoms, but to change the mindset and understanding of the recovery process.
Shaan compares anxiety recovery to growing a tree, focusing on providing the right environment for growth rather than trying to forcefully make symptoms go away.
Shaan also encourages viewers to shift their focus from fighting symptoms to embracing the process of recovery.
Shaan also highlights the importance of support and guidance from coaches or mentors to navigate blind spots in the journey.

I’ve been diagnosed with panic disorder, DPDR and Agoraphobia 10 months ago. I was 100% housebound this whole time and not motivated to change anything. I started taking your advice 1 week ago and now I’m already buying groceries at the store. Still have sad emotions and feeling numb but I try my best to concentrate on what I have to do during the day. Thanks a lot Shaan! Never stop helping people getting through this. ❤

Yes ,I have experienced this ..The more I fight to get recoverd the more nervous, anxious and stressed I am ...now I have understood that 1) just forget about being urgent and curious of recovering 2) working on desensitising our nervous system 3) forget those thoughts and not think the thoughts...as Shaan said thoughts are different and thinking is different... I'm too frustrated sometimes with these ocd and anxiety..but with God it's possible..don't worry guys

Absolutely, I've been on the program and it took my a while to realize how important it is to set the right expectations (Which is to allow the symptoms to be present as long as they want). Like anyone suffering from this, I thought I was always going to be stuck in this 'pit' of anxiety, but after practicing the A.W.A.R.E process, we can definitely get ourselves out of it, and getting out is fully within our control (Even though it may not feel like so).

Among all other channels that talk about nervous system sensitization/brain-danger channel (anxiety, chronic pains, trauma etc which i unsubscribed), only Shann's channel put very high priority in Recovery. Recovery goes over eliminating symptoms. As i realized more people around me experienced/suffered symptoms & helping them aware of what it probably is (surprising enough they have it checked with doctors with no answer too), their symptoms dropped in intensity! But just like me back in early stage, they are still hesitate to fully accept what it is for many reasons mentioned in this channel & i understand. In the end of the day, symptoms really does not matter. Again just like Shaan's said, the statement won't sinked in with people at different stages & i too understand that. Shaan's videos these days are giving insight on advance stage a.k.a. the true meaning of recovery - becoming a better person than one's were even before falling into anxiety cycle. Wish i get corrected if something is not right here but kudos to Shaan's & team! Personally, i am seeing better days, much better than before i fell into my anxiety cycle. My better days include residual symptoms popping up here & there. Cos when i see myself taking one step of becoming a better version in, for example keep stopping myself from thinking worst case scenario/what-if life scenario, symptoms really matter less as i put more focus on becoming a better person. Dude, it really is a blessing in disguise.

Thank you and all of the other people telling their stories. This is helping so many on their way ro recovery. I have had a bumpy ride in mine, but now, even feeling so many symptoms i manage to go about my day in a more normal fasion and my panic atacks are at a point where i can easily calm down again, and go on with my day. I started getting panic attacks a year a go and they where just flooring me and i was terrified of getting out of bed. Andrenaline and kortisol shot trough my body and i had absolutely no controll over my mind and i had every disease i found matching my symptoms. I was shaking in fear and so depressed that i did not see how i would ever recover. But i worked with my thoughts and tried to just let anxiety have room to play it self out, forced my self to do things even if they felt horrible. So i did some things right, but then i had a setback, and i did not know how to deal with it, just thought all that work was for nothing, but then i found your channel and understand now that setbacks happen and is part of my recovery and i have a restored fate in what i am doing is working and i will recover completely. So again: Thank you for your amazing work and for helping me and many others.

I have been suffering with anxiety or ptsd like symptoms after having and seeing a event that changed me. There hasn't been 1 day since where i haven't had intrusive thoughts of it. I am captive of it because i build most days when im not at work to avoid the potential hypothetical event. This has co mingled its way into almost 80 to 90% of my day and activities. Its like my thoughts are so real i Believe it will happen. I just started watching your shows on KZbin and am hoping to naturally get better. Thanks

The mind likes to make a lot of noise and it has stories and beliefs. It's like the mind has a mind of its own. That's why I like Meditation and Stillness because it allows us to pause and step back and observe all the stories that the mind dishes out. Mindfulness shows us that we are not our thoughts and ideas but that we are The Awareness watching our thoughts. The root cause of all human suffering is the mind. If we had no mind there would be no such thing as suffering. Our negative thoughts and ideas and all the stories the mind produces are not even real and it's all just imagination and illusions and dreams. Negative thoughts and ideas can't be proven to exist and they have no basis for truth unlike our Physical Reality which can be proven to be real and can be documented. We have to choice to act upon our thoughts and so by acting turn them into a Living Reality. Thoughts are beliefs!! If we believe in them we will act on them

You have developed that habit. Let your mind do whatever it wants to do .do not react to any thought with frustration.sometimes u will feel sad but get busy with life .if your mind starts thinking about breathing come back in present without resisting any thoughts .slowly your habit of checking your breathing will be gone.

Shaan, wanted to ask really important question. Are these physical symptoms “somatic disorder”? If so, they say, that it’s just mental, nothing said about adrenaline and curtisol. Or what we experience is different?
@Esaskate
@Esaskate 9 ай бұрын
Body and mind are interconnected. Modern medicine starts to recognize this again. If you have a panic attack for example, your body sets free a lot of cortisol and adrenaline. If you think about hugging a beloved person and really imagine doing this, your body produces oxytocine, which is the feeling good/safe hormone. Every mental activity has a hormonal reaction ;)

@@andrewkarpyn785 ufffff , i had so many symptoms . That I can’t remember all lol. My main ones where/are cuz I still slightly deal with some as I’m still in a recovery journey. They are dizziness, nausea, horrible stomach pain, eye fatigue, light sensitivity, my eye sight used to take time to focus on things, after vision, limb pain, headaches, neck burning sensation, and numb hands.
@GuadalupeGomez-ms6uo
@GuadalupeGomez-ms6uo 9 ай бұрын
@@andrewkarpyn785 totally, it’s very hard to accept. My mind set to keep doing good is to tell my self that panicking won’t do anything good, I can choose to panick or keep going, keep in mind that this is temporary. And the better you keep doing the easier “accepting” will be. Let things flow. But also force yourself, there were days where I thought I wouldn’t even be able to walk without falling from the dizziness. But staying in bed was no help. So I forced my self to walks. I literally would be walking shaking like I had just come out of a really horrible physical desease. But little by little symptoms got lighter and my mentality stronger. At one point in my worse days I thought I would have to be injected with something to be controlled, because I couldn’t sit still for a minute. My body and mind where in so much anxiety that it felt like my nervios system was broken. It all started this April, by June I was WAY better. And now I have only moments where I overthink the anxiety , but I don’t feel it. I feel almost the same as I used to before this horrible anxiety took over me on April.

Shaan love your videos so much but wanted to give some random feedback. I’m an english teacher and wanted to let you know that one thing you say could be fixed- it should be “show you how recovery looks” or “show you WHAT recovery looks LIKE”, not “how recovery looks like”. The ‘like’ should only be used after ‘what’. It’s silly and a big deal obviously but just want your videos to keep helping people and sound as good as possible
