And it wasn't just Albon struggling to get out. Even Max, who seemed in pretty good condition in the post race interview, wasn't his normal athletic self when getting out of the car. I'm sure his win was part of the reason why he was back on his feet relatively fast. Same for Piastri and his comment in the winners-cubicle "Does anyone have a wheelchair?". As ever, a great video on the whole weekend's action! Very funny and factual. Any nonsubscribers, come on, it doesn't cost you anything! Ever since I first heard James Vowles on the radio, and then doing Mercedes' "answer the questions" KZbin videos, I've liked the guy. He's straightforward, will say what is wrong if something is wrong, but at the same time doesn't give the impression that he's anyone's fool. Tonight, hearing him tell Logan that there's no shame in being sick and to come to the pits (in the second communication I heard. No idea what was said in-between, if anything), but leaving the decision up to the young lad (to me, most of the grid is filled with young lads), just reinforced that. It showed respect for Logan, too, as the obvious answer was for him to retire the car, but given his current woes, he may have been trying too hard. He even said - I think to his engineer - that he was being honest about being sick, and IIRC, that's when Vowles stepped in to tell him it was okay to return to the pits (in the first "chat" about it.) I know that numerous other team bosses in the past would have flipped out if their driver retired sick. Not all, the vast majority wouldn't be so crass, but definitely some of them would. ::cough::Enzo::cough:: I think James was trying to tell Logan (without being too specific because he knew the message would get played and the media would take anything potentially related to the contract and run with it) that this wouldn't affect his decision regarding said contract. Much kudos to him for that IMHO. He's turning out to be a very good and very capable boss. On the other hand, it's been the Max & McLaren show all weekend and it's thoroughly deserved. Congratulations to all three drivers and both teams! And a big shout out to Russell for his fight back into 4th, especially given where Perez, in the "best car on the grid" (imagine a Max-hater whining tone), finished up. I'm not sure if the facts changed after one of the commentators said that Max was the only one who hadn't got a black & white flag, but that does help illustrate the chasm of difference between him and Perez (that boy is his own worst enemy!) Hearing GP tell Max to go faster "sustainably" was hilarious IMHO. I have no idea why that was even wanted given that he was so far ahead! Jolyon Palmer unusually got a fact wrong in commentary in saying that Piastri's win was the first McLaren win in many years (that may not be the exact wording, it was the exact meaning, I'm sure, because of the tone of voice he used), obviously thinking back to the Lewis/JB days. It's not been so long since Danny Ric won in Monza! A few years, sure, but "many"!?

Bahrain 2005 is probably more comparable than indy from the same year tbh Lando's attitude whenever he's been outperformed on merit has always stuck out to me, he was incredibly passive aggressive when Daniel had outmatched him at Monza two years ago and then again today with Oscar, like yeah obviously you were faster than Oscar after he came out of the pits you've already gone through tyre warm up, on every other lap of the race though Oscar has had you matched and even surpassed. I like McLaren and genuinely think Lando could be great, I also feel like he's gotten way too comfortable with being McLaren's golden boy though and ever since Sochi 2021 where he tossed away his first win he's been a bit eager to get favorable team orders.

The race had a certain level of unpredictability due to the mandated three stops, which meant that, behind Verstappen, the order of the drivers kept shuffling. However, I didn't see too many overtakes, because after a stop, there was not enough of a tyre life/grip advantage to come close enough and pass. So if the FIA is contemplating on making this a regular thing next year, I hope they don't, because this wasn't good racing.

When 2 years ago Qatar earned the 2021 F1 GP calender spot during the pandemic on a short notice, besides of the doubts for the choice regarding the track being originally for Moto GP, however good drivers feedback post GP showed otherwise, being actually enjoyable track to drive on. Where the weather condition wasn't a concern at that time, where it was already a nice of no more than 29c to 30c highest, and 20c lowest of 21s November weekend. Next years 24 QA GP already announced for 29th Nov to 1st Dec, for a definitely cooler conditions as the weather will get cooler further into late November early Dec in the GCC region. Complementing an already brand new track facilities and an already Qatars successful background of hosting global sport events. So let us enjoy the sport like all fans around the world, and get used to it, for the remaining 10 years of the contract.

Imagine if F1 still had multiple tyre manufacturers, this really could be Indy 2005 all over again

Can someone explain how Chico still has a ride? RB has pulled the trigger so fast on so many, what does Perez have over them that he's still in that seat?

What did I think of the race? After the initial lights out and away we crash...NFL Redzone provided more entertainment and that was with the forced pit stops.

The safety of the drivers is not worth the oil money. These dangerous race conditions needs to be addressed

Racing there in those conditions to benefit those monsters is absolutely stupid. Drivers should refuse it.

I liked the way Rosberg pulled Horner on the photos of Perezes floor. We all now the floor is the secret to RB's speed

ground effect has played a part for years hence the fitting of a plank. Schumi disqualified for plank wear 1994 belgian grand prix. Clever clogs tut tut@@gandalf_thegrey

Lance didn't settle for "one of his engineers" ... he settled for his "performance coach" and who could blame him, considering his performance or rather lack thereof. Plus, the dude completely ignored that unwritten rule, better think twice before approaching a racing driver wearing his helmet in the garage... so all, hunky dory, one would think, except, Lance alerted the "FIA Compliance Officer" who deemed this kind of behaviour "just not on" and not to be in compliance with the "FIA Code of Ethics"... welcome to F1 2023! 🤣🤣🤣

I said it last video, and I'll say it again. This is the best series on KZbin. Even better than Megamind.
