it may be beaten by the king of sweden! he ascended the throne at 27 (just one year older than elizabeth was) and is in his 70’s right now. his great grandfather and grandfather (his own dad passed away young before even becoming king) both reached the age of 92 and 90 respectively. he would have to be 98 years old to beat elizabeth and that’s absolutely doable.

As an American when my mother died last year I actually looked up to her as a motherly figure. Her strength and dedication and seeing her in various situations helped me cope because she was so much like my mother. Speeches like this brought and still brings me comfort. I am rewatching this, and it reduced me to tears. This woman, personality, monarch, phenomenon, head of state, will be missed, the full impact of her loss is yet to come and be felt by many.
