This episode focuses on the ways in which the Quest 3 makes use of its scan data when building a room for augmented reality. It appears - anecdotally at least - that with or without the mesh scan, the system has a clear outline and placement of every object, so much so that it's remarkable we still have to build furniture using insufficient cubes.
This is just me complaining. But I hope it sheds a light on how mediocre and lackluster the AR experience is when compared to the potential that seems to already exist behind the scenes.
