It'll never be like classic DS1 bro. Remastered is still pretty active but if only it had the activeness of Elden Ring. DS3 is very active and DS2 about the same as DS1. Elf Monster Its a video game. You dont have to be a tough guy in real life. But a coward in a videogame? Someone who wont fight fair in a game is just ridiculous. You HAVE to fight people at their best to get better. To get the accomplishment of a well earned victory. Beating a weakened enemy is hardly half a victory. Trust me I'm a very logical person but I also like to have fun and getting attacked mid gesture or mid buff isnt fun. I wont screw up someones else who just wants to have a good fight for a cheap "win". Fighting is fun. If you dont want a real fight DS isnt the game for you.

Not that I'm trying to be a dick to the other guy, just props to you for explaining something so perfectly imo. However, since I like to argue and don't necessarily agree with what I'm about to say, someone could say that being good at the game is finding the right time to buff, heal, and use the games mechanics to win a fight you wouldn't win on raw dueling skill, honestly the people who gank/heal/cheese/reds who run to enemys are really just finding ways to use MORE of the game to their advantage which almost makes them better at the whole game and not just dueling.

CaptainHoneyMoo Thats my opinion. Your build relies on it, and part of your skillset must be finding an opportunity to do it, and part of my skillset must be denying you that ability. Backstab, parry, or guard break; All of these have recovery times more than long enough for you to buff. THEN you are allowed to take a third of my health with one R1. Interestingly, I could turn your own argument around; How does me letting you buff make YOU get any better? You're just being ALLOWED to do it. You aren't having to think about it or exert any effort at all. That doesn't improve your skill in any way. However, me rushing you as you buff and interrupting it DOES force you to adapt and improvise, since its clear you are going to spend a portion of the fight without your buff. You must then work AROUND my strengths while protecting your own weaknesses, which results in you either getting good or dying. I will gesture to anyone who wants to fight. But the moment you cast a buff, you are initiating combat, and that is an open declaration you are ready to fight. And me? I was built for one purpose, and it isn't "wasting time".

Every time i look at videos of DkS1 i kind of wish the Dark Souls 2 weapon buffs looked as good. I mean, they dont look terrible in DkS2, but most of them arent much more then painting your WHOLE weapon a different color (hilt and such included):(

_EULER_ Yeah true. Some didnt change too much, but there were a few that really became Meh. Its like the artstyle in general, it was far more moody and atmospheric in DkS. Therees not really any really dark patches in DkS2. Maybe no mans wharf, but even thats not too dark, same with the gutter.

Alexis Hoyos So not overpowered that it casts almost instantly in an AOE and can be used to get people who are getting up and has great range and does good damage.

not instantly like great combustion or black flame, they are faster by far. I've tried it with my buddy and he managed to stun me before i activated WoG, we both had 45 dex. Also, that is why you roll whenever you see your opponent pull out a catalyst/talisman/glove because something is going to hit you if you dont due to lag. Range.....not really I for one use it a lot and it falls short to me compared to in Demon's souls. It is like a great combustion, except it is everywhere instead of the front, which is useful against fishers and such.

Alexis Hoyos Those 2 are probably the most cheap things though. Instant cast and stun lock so hard with those pyro's. WoG is op because it only has 1 weakness and that's rolling so if you don't have a fast roll character than your chances of getting away from it are pretty slim. You can't block it because it is either going to break your guard or do like 400 damage through your shield still.

Scott Finlay The PvE in Dark Souls 1 is better IMO. The PvP in Dark Souls 2 has gone a long way from launch, and is now IMO much better than Dark Souls 1. I won't be going back.
