I have to say that going to public school with Muslim friends helped show me what faith and dedication is. I was lukewarm and was also a “checkbox” Catholic, but seeing how much my Muslim friends loved their faith and was so knowledgeable (it seemed) made me search about my own. I think if I went to Catholic school, I would have been surrounded by lukewarm souls and never would have been pushed to study my own faith. Or perhaps God will always find his way to me. No one can tell. Just so blessed to be Roman Catholic 😊

bro i went to a roman catholic school and i think nearly everyone had an atheist or non-Catholic mindset. Thinking back the only thing i learned about church history from that school was the reformation and terrific it was. I wouldn't take it back though as being surrounded by atheists kinda lead me to doubt, which lead me to look into my faith, which lead to my it being strengthened. It also helped me to be a bit more skeptical and reasonable. So i guess non-Catholics have a thing for helping us out huh.

Yep I'm a former Muslim and as a religion they are very confident but I promise you the vast majority of Muslims know very little about their religion. Once I was challenged I went into a deep dive and about 6 months in it was evident Muhammad was a false prophet, I was quite devastated. I thought if Islam wasn't true then nothing is. I became an "atheist." I never in a million years thought I'd be Christian, especially catholic, but one day I had an experience with Jesus. I did the same thing with Islam, I went on a deep dive. 6 months later I continued, 6 months after that I began to attend catholic mass, not really knowing how to behave, 6 months after that I knew catholicism was the only religion in earth founded by God. Im happy to say after about 2-2½ years of self study in finally a few months into studying at a church and look forward to being baptized and taking the eucharist. Still have quite a few months left of study.

Admittedly, they have issued apologies in recent years saying it was naughty to burn people alive for pointing out amongst other things, that the earth goes around the sun. Churches (and I'm not sure which one of the thousands you identify with but I'm sure yours's is the right one) have no clear idea about what the trinity means. I'd say and here's a mad suggestion, read your books and try and see through your indoctrination from your parents and ask yourself does this make sense? "is it good?" and if you have to pick bits that do make sense but other bits don't and you chose to ignore, ask yourself why don't I just live by what I feel is the right thing to do and I don't need a book. Maybe the book is written hundreds or thousands of years ago by primitive warlords who wanted people to line up and fight for some rich bloke.

He warns us that without His life and death, we would all be hopeless. Glory be to Him who has given us hope! To me, The scripture has so much more hope and joy than it does " not have a positive message". Don't get me wrong, the message regarding humanity on our own devices is often negative- But the message of God and His Great and Restless Love for us knows no end. Also the argument that the people crucified Jesus but God wouldn't allow his great prophet to be killed so He substituted him allowing them to be deceived. What's the point in that? So God sneaks around like a liar saving his prophet on the sly and allowing millions to be deceived? That makes no sense. Jesus said (paraphrased) : If God wanted to send an army of angels to protect me, He could.) If God wanted to save His prophet, surely the point would be to do it publicly....do some smiting or something? The public victory came with the resurrection.
@derpderpina18042 жыл бұрын
no there is nothing in islam that says god won't allow his great prophet to be killed in fact the killing on the cross and the resurection of jesus would have caused no problem to islam theologicaly. the denial of the crucifixion in the curan has left christian readers pretty puzzeled since it is not necessary but it is there!!! for muslims god is just stating facts, as for deception the curan does not blame chrisians for beleiving jesus died on the cross, christians are blamed for how they interpreted that event since even if the crucufition happened this wouldn't justify christian theology. and millions were not deceived since the number of those who saw the crucifixion is not millions and most importantly THE DICIPLES DID NOT WITNESS CRUCIFIXION and i remind you that those who wanted jesus crucified did not know how he looked like and needed juds to kiss him!!!! the substitution might not be the magical operation many think it is it can simply mean that they did not now what he looked like and they crucified someone else a voluntary substitute for example, i mean wouldnt peter accepte to die in stead of jesus , he absolutely would!!!!

I’m not religious, but I love your answer. For the same reason, the dismissal of God having a son in the Quran seems arbitrary and unconvincing to me: “God is one, how could he have a son, that’s assigning partners to God” What if He wanted to have a son? Is He not able to? Are you deciding what He can do? And if He did have a son, what kind of father doesn’t want people to love His son? A loving father gets joy when his son is praised, even more so than from being praised directly, because his son’s joy is his joy, and the praise implies he’s a good father. And so it would be with God.
@fatimahsharpe91132 жыл бұрын
@@Alex-mv3ht Indeed. Even the understanding of "son" isn't how they think. It means God incarnate. "In the beginning was the Word.......and the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us". God is infinite (and as we understand it, the Trinity). And the idea is, man could never make up for his sins by himself so God incarnate took the punishment for all the sins on Himself. That's love. It's like a father taking the death penalty to save his son. It's like all religions are man looking for God....Christianity is God came looking for man...His creation....to save it.

Excellent discussion and very loving and non-judgmental and full of logical truth. Another question I have asked some if my friends who are of the Islamic faith is; ‘How does God forgive? ‘ How does mercy and justice meet in a being who is infinitely just and infinitely merciful? We both agree that God is infinitely perfect in all His attributes and that none of His perfections can violate any of His other infinite perfections so how do justice and mercy meet in Islam? How can God forgive sin without violating His infinite justice? How can He be infinitely merciful and yet there be no forgiveness because of His infinite justice. Only in the Cross of Jesus do justice and mercy meet without either being offended. They were unable to answer other than to say God is loving and so he forgives, he just forgives. This discussion on the Mist Holy Trinity was clearer in its logic and perhaps more convincing. Beautiful! Thank you both.

David Wood’s work is pretty good at exposing faults. I often say I respect that they worship one God, but there’s a lot of things that just seem wrong. Like, for example, the Quran allows divorce. It gives divorce rights primarily to men. However, it gives a waiting period, or an Iddah in case of pregnancy for divorce. And the Quran says there is no Iddah if there is no sex. However, it also gives certain waiting periods for those who are too old to menstruate and even for those who have not menstruated I.e, prepubescent girls. Muhammad himself married his wife Aisha when she was six (I think), waited presumably because she was sick, and then consummated the “Marriage”, when she was nine and still prepubescent bc the Hadiths say she was playing with dolls, which is an image, so it was was only allowed for those who had not yet reached puberty. They also say she was on a swing playing w her friends when they brought her to Muhammad, which I’m pretty sure also means she was prepubescent.
@kyrptonite18252 жыл бұрын
2. (So essentially the Quran allows Muslim men to marry, have sex with, and divorce, girls who have not yet reached puberty. Some more things that seem wrong is that Islamic theology divides the world into two places, the Abode of Islam, and the Abode of War. And the Quran commands Muslims to conquer and subject the whole world and to fight against the nonbelievers

@Christos Kyrios Islam is the most misinterpreted and misjudged faith in this century. It is particularly imperative that people should know Islam as to what it really is and not be blinded by ignorance and bias. An aspect of Islam that has been grossly misunderstood is the marriage of Muhammad, where critics claim he married a minor. But it is a blatantly false slander, because the woman in question, Aisha, an Arabic poet and army general, was nineteen years old at the time of marriage with Muhammad. (In Arabic, like old English, nineteen, or eighteen, is shortened to the first word, as in nine or eight- the way we wrote one-and-twenty to mean twenty-one years). When Islam came in the world, it nullified and negated the practice of female oppression, which included slavery and child marriage. The age of Aisha to be six years or nine years at marriage contradicts established historical proofs and is, therefore, a discrepant report and a mistake. Scholars have mentioned that when a ḥadīth’s text contradicts something more reliable from established history then it is rejected because that indicates a flaw due to a mistake by one of the narrators. Islam was the first religion to name every man and woman equal in the sight of God. Everyone was born free and had choices they could make on their own accord.

@aly83802 жыл бұрын
Well, Ahmed Deedat is doing dawah. Dawah means proselytizing to spread Islam. Deedat is an Islamic evangelist. He aims to convert Christians by having debates with Christians. He is a spreading Islam primarily by attacking Christianity and sowing doubt in Christians' mind. People who are not well versed in Christian apologetics and the flaws of Islam SHOULD NOT WATCH DEEDAT. Christians should watch Christian apologist who are debunking Islam - NOT watching Muslims like Deedat who are trying to con Christians into converting. Some Muslims are very deceptive, sly and disingenuous in the way they try to spread Islam. Sometimes pretending to be Christians. Deception is part of Islam. After all the Quran says that Allah is the best deceiver. ....so Christians should be very careful.

@Christos Kyrios nope. The plural title Elohim does not equate that there are multiple gods. The Trinity of God is one. Three persons in one body. Not three separate "gods". They are equal in essence. Like a semi frozen river: running water, upon the top of the running water is some frozen ice, and rising from the water and ice, the fog/mist. All one, all of the same molecular makeup, not separate. God the Father, God the Son (The Word) God the Holy Spirit. St. Patrick used the 3 leaf clover to explain about the oneness of God. Three identical leaves in one plant. Not separate. I go a little further with this, in that when I see the stem attached to the earth and the plant (three leaf clover) the stem is the human (resurrected) body of Jesus now, the bridge between heaven and earth: still part of the oneness of God, never separated.
@nonpossenonpeccare91042 жыл бұрын
@@c.Ichthys You committed many heresies by comparing the Trinity to material substances. It’s impossible to compare. Let’s say you have 3 pieces of gold. 2 of those pieces posses together all attributes twice as much the other piece of gold. In the trinity this is not so. The Father and Holy Spirit are not more powerful than the Son, The Son and Holy Spirit are not more powerful than the Father alone etc. If you tear the 3 leaf clover 2/3th, that part will have twice as much of all attributes to the 1/3th part, the Trinity doesn’t consist of parts. The river example is modalism. Water takes different forms, just like the sabellianists say the Father took the form of the Son but they are the same. Don’t compare the Trinity to material bodies pls

One of the problems I see the most it is that people don't understand the concept of time, and that the Divine dimension doesn't have time on it, so when you tell people that Jesus always existed, they cannot understand, and I know is hard, but the best way to do it, it is imagine Jesus get in and out as in a train, and the stations are the different eras. For example, Moses saw Jesus sandals when he asked God to show Himself, but Jesus was in body too, bit Jesus has not been born yet. But Jesus or any spiritual creation are bound by time, and we as human creatures are, and that it is a big weight on us and shape us in the way we live, but not the spiritual world. Jesus is in body, as Mary, and I think there are two prophets too, Elijah and Enoch who also are in body in Heaven, so some people can bear the spiritual dimension in a physical body, probably because of their purity. I don't know but we believe that we will recover our bodies too, and as Jesus says, " earth and heavens will pass but not my words" and He also says that He will make anything anew, as a new Earth, with the ones who are saved. Catholicism is super interesting and cool, you can never get bored, we have so much to learn and so much to love. We are Christ bares and we should pass Christ light to others, good job Charlie!!!! There's another Muslim who wrote a book about his conversion, an English guy, he was converted by the people of Neri, the Oratory in London, thanks God he found them, because many priests has lost the Faith and they just waste time being " politically correct" and the only purpose of the Church is the salvation of souls and you can't save souls if you lie or sugarcoat facts.

As a Muslim I always look forward to such videos but man there are issues in his story. I am not a scholar or even close to it but even in my basic knowledge of Islam I see many holes in his story some of them I'll mention down below I am not going to comment on his arguments regarding trinity but I'll say few things about it. First of all prophet Muhammad is not mentioned at all in the first or second page of Quran specially by name. Second sayings of Prophet and Quran are two different things; Muslims don't mix them together like in one book. Third Muslims believe that Quran is direct speech of Allah. Fourth the Muslim you mentioned in the story has to be completely unaware of the basics of Islam. In my personal observation Muslims who are practicing and preaching are more aware of basics of Islam then mentioned in the story. He appears to be a Muslim born in a Muslim family and then never practiced his religion. There are many Muslim like that even in Muslim countries. There are many things that I can say that is false in this story like there is no Quran in the Muslim world where chapters arranged differently as implied, In Quran it has been mentioned clearly that even if all of humanity and jins wants to go against God then it would not affect the majesty of God. And no where in Quran it is said that Jesus was saved on crucifix but instead it is mentioned that he was not killed and was not crucified. As a Muslim I see lack of basic knowledge of Islam from the story teller. I see in comment section that many Christian brothers and sisters are satisfied the trinity explanation in this video. To that I have few things to say. There are few basic believes that we all Muslims have to believe if we want to get in to the paradise. These believes are so basic and so plainly mentioned Quran multiple time that almost no two Muslims differ in those believes because they are fundamental, and repeated many times without any open to interpretation and explanation. In Christianity fundamental believes such as trinity is not explicitly mentioned or explained over and over again instead there are few passages of bible that Christians take it as a hint for trinity then in response Muslims say that there are other passages of bible that says otherwise. I am just shock that Christians can just accept trinity without questioning its logical sense. My intention is not to hurt anyone here I was genuinely intrigued by the title of the video but found many errors and falsehood in the story which lead me to leave this comment.

Fallacy. Have the quality to be loving isn’t the same as the act of loving. So you can have the quality to be forgiving but only employ that when needed. In the same way, just because God is loving it doesn’t mean that there needs to be a trinity. Just like the quality of forgiveness… God has always been the Most Forgiving, even when there was nobody to forgive. It’s a simple concept and this Christian just tries to sound intelligent but he really isn’t because otherwise he would realize that it’s actually very straight forward

Jesus was never on the cross, he was replaced by someone even before he was captured, so the man on the cross was not jesus in islam's point of view. But yes, it's pretty difficult for muslims to answer 'why jesus deserve to be punished by death on the cross'. Muslims will say that jesus taught the tawheed or the teachings about one god to the jews, which is absurd since jews were already monotheists back then.. there is no point for jesus teaching monotheism to the monotheis society.

A Turkish Muslim woman is one of my better friends, she is a very good person too, and she is the one explained a lot of their beliefs to me. Now we Catholics know that Mahomet took this ideas from his brother in law who was a Nestorian, that it was a very spread heresy at the time and he took many other ideas and created Muslim faith, and then Islam comes from that, a more radicalized form. So I had almost the same conversation, because with Muslim people is easier to me because they believe in Jesus and in Mary. Now, Jesus died in the Cross as a man, but the thing is He defeat death, but He really died, he didn't have much blood in His system or fluids. Yes, Satan hates Mary, because she is just a creature, but she has been elevated and she is the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the daughter of the Father and the Mother of the Son, her own words. In many parts of the Bible Jesus says He is God, He is the alpha and the omega, and I am who I am, I am him, who knows me, knows the Father, etc

I only heard it till 4.26 & found several fallacies & contestable claims he makes. 1. In the hebrew, it's the verb which proves whether the subject is singular or plural, a subtle but very significant difference when we compare it with/to English. Had the hebrew Bible spoken of three in one concept, the verb in the first verse would have been veyomeru instead of veyomer. So, his inferring for making the case for trinity is grammatically flawed to begin with. 2. The Quran doesn't have Muhammed, on whom be peace, as one opens the first chapter. His claim is absolutely wrong there too. & 3. He is right Quran isn't structured as one finds other religious scriptures, however, it actually is in favour of Quran rather than against it's veracity. For instance, the Bible & the Quran both speak of Satan. The Bible claims that satan was a fallen angel & the Quran says satan was one of the jinns, just another creation of God we Muslims believe in. The interesting part here is that the Quran uses the title satan once he had disobeyed God & there was a phase when he wasn't called one. So, this act of disobedience is the demarcation between what he must have been called prior to the incident. The Quran uses the word "Iblis" for that phase & satan post the disobedience. Readers must bear in mind that the Quran was revealed over the span of 23 yrs & as "without chronology" As it is, as the speaker in the video implied, it's very difficult for a person not to use both the words interchangeably, if not impossible. Yet, each time Quran speaks of the phase prior to disobedience to God, the word Iblis is mentioned, & each time the phase post disobedience is mentioned/spoken of, the word shaytaan is used. It's also telling to note that to believe satan as jinn is much more logical than to accept him as an angel. The Islamic belief is that angels don't have free will as does other creation of God. Hence, Iblis made a choice to disobey God & turned into satan whereas the Bible calls him fallen angel. The natural question arises is; if even the angels have free will, then what was the point of creating mankind? If angels can disobey God then what's the guarantee that other angels such as Gabriel, Michael etc won't ever do so? Would angels be judged by God on the day of judgemnt as mankind will be? 4. Lastly, the attribute he touched upon was nothing but begging the question fallacy. I can be loving without having the need of someone else. Besides, the fact that the idea of one "needs" someone else to prove you are love Or loving is detrimental to Christianity since either those three Christians call One God were self loving, something the speaker illogically accused to be, or they are not One God as much as you need someone ELSE to love. Salaam!

You are more wrong than he is. Sorry. I'd suggest researching the pre-Muslim pagan religions and you can see exactly how and where Muhammed crafted his beliefs. If you match his outreach to the various Arab tribes you can literally see how his teachings change to include their beliefs, changing it subtley. He even praised a set of tribal gods at one point and adopted others as messengers for Allah to appease the religious leaders of those tribes. I will give you the Trinity thing. That was added later and forced to fit because it better fit into European mythologies, particularly that of Rome with their worship of Sol.

But believe quoran that said Allah created with his spirit to Jesus (Isa) and believe allah will put christians and jew under punishment in order to salve muslims...why a sinner can salve a sinner for all sins he or she made? But a sinless man cant salve sinners as us? For me is better if a sinless person save me to a sinner!!!

Excellent learning in this video. Very logical approach. I also have Muslim friends and have asked them; in Islam, how does justice and mercy meet? God is infinite in all his perfections and there cannot be inconsistency within the person of God. He is both infinitely merciful and infinitely just. So when he forgives our sins he is merciful but what about justice. And should he condemn all, which would be entirely just, then what about his mercy. Both must be satisfied. How does God forgive according to the teachings in Islam? The answer was “He just does.” I said in Christianity we understand that Jesus acceptance of death on the cross, repaired the broken covenant and for us this is how justice and mercy meet.

What Catholicism truly misses is it’s Jewish background. There is no need for a trinity to win a Muslim. You can make a Muslim Catholic with these arguments, but the Trinity is such an anachronistic category, biblically speaking. It’s a Greek way of “apprehending” God that neither Jesus or His Jewish Apostles would’ve been using as a method of thinking. An amazing book regarding the Jewish backgrounds of Catholicism is “Searching Her Own Mystery” by Mark Kinzer. Worth a read for anyone who’d like to understand the sacraments.

Great discussion! Thank you. However, Mary is not exactly like us. She is an Immaculate Coception. She is pure, without sin, she is love herself, She is love and a mother of love - our Savior. She is a MOTHER OF GOD. She is a PERFECTION. The rest of the whole creation together doesn't come close to Her. Not even the Angels of God. That's how perfect She is. She is human, but she is NOT like the rest of us. God has created Her having in His mind being Her Son. God's purity can not and could not ever be mixed with impurity. That's why most of us will have to go through purgatory. She has been pure and perfect from the beginning because the Father would never allow His son to be in an impure or imperfect temple, and the Holy Spirit can espouse only a perfect and pure Bride. She was being prepared for Her role from the moment of Her Immaculate Coception.

Mary was 100% pure and human..once she accepted the Holy Spirit,to Mother the Son of God,she in effect became both the partner and Mother of God/Jesus.

Nothing compare to the philosophy of vaishnavism when it comes to love.

I really dislike that "love" argument. It's pure philosophy and is not found in scripture, yet so many people use it as one of the basis and foundation of their belief in the Trinity. I may simply be speculating about this next part, but, it is a sign of the Greco-Roman philosophical mindset that crept into influencing Christian thinking and interpretation of scripture in the first few centuries of our church. Philosophy is amazing, and the mind was made by God to ponder and discover, but its also entirely possible to accidentally elevate the mind and it's philosophies even over clear straightforward statements of scripture. Like the simplest of things such as God repeatedly stating he is only one, only one Lord, only one person in his continously use of singular personal pronoun of himself and others use of singular personal pronouns when addressing him "I" "he" "him" "you". His statements in the prophets that he was alone, by *him* self creating, how he knows of no other God formed before *him* or alongside him. The argument that the Trinity is found in Genesis's opening statement also seems so incredibly fraudulent. Imagine someone trying to convince you James, Peter, and John are really a Trinity of a being with a shared essence but seperate in person because sometimes they are mentioned alongside each other. A plea for Christians to return to the cardinal creed of Jesus, our founder, the "Shema". Mark 12:28-32, "Hear oh Israel, the Lord your God, is one Lord". And to embrace Jesus our King as our "Lord Messiah" who is "God's Messiah" - Luke 2:11;26

I think the argument was not explained fully about God being “Love” through all eternity and therefore requiring an object of His love. As I understand it the minimum community has to be three (as they say “two’s company and three’s a crowd” but in actual fact two is too introspective and three is a functional society)
