Hello the quests. I remember this song "Sunny " when I was still a boy, listening to quest music in EP at my neighbor home. I am searching for the song nw.

Our best local group's in the 60's. "Shanty" is my favourite. "The Quests" very well known in the 60's and have been to many places in Asia.

I used to know these guys in the 60's they used to go and jam in the Toby bar I think and so did Keith Locke who I also used to know. I was a rank beginner in those days and used to think they were really great. I went back there last summer and got up in a pub that let you play and said to the crowd, ""50 years ago I did my first public performance ever in Singapore in the Toby Bar and this is the song I played .'' And I played Poor Little Fool recorded by Ricky Nelson. Another great player I met who used to teach was called Vivien Nones anybody know what happened to him? I think he was the best player in town - he could reproduce Chet Atkins on really badly made guitars on purpose - he felt it good practice.

Thanks for your comments, Jack. I hope that the video gives you memory of the 60's music in Singapore. Keith Locke was in Singapore few years ago and he did meet up some of our local musicians of the 60's. Hope you keep up with our local music here.

I consider the memories of the music in Singapore my most important ones. I bought my first guitar there in Sea Road. I used to sit up late in Changi village jamming with a guy whose name now escapes me but I know he joined a Stones tribute band. I felt the place has become ultra respectable now and a little less rock and roll in atmosphere but there were places to jam and girls are encouraged to play too which is great. I would go back and I may next year especially if there's somewhere where you can jam with a band loud. Glad to hear Keith Locke is still around I can remember his self penned song Be My Girl which I felt had influences of Gerry and The Pacemakers and the other side I think was Don't Play That Song with overtones of Stand By Me.
