He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night “ Q21:33 “And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon;…” To wrap is to cover with something. You don’t cover light with darkness. Similarly you don’t create night or darkness. Just remove the light and it is dark. Simple isn’t it? No need to go around and tell story. Is Allah stupid? Qur’an 79:30 “wa al- arda bada dhalika dahaahaa,” Dahaahaa means to spread out like a carpet and flatten. Dr Naik Zakir said dahaahaa referred to (Ostrich) egg. He was trying to say the earth looks like an egg (and not round or geospherical ) Al-Jalalayn S79:30 “and after that He spread out the earth: He made it flat, for it had been created before the heaven, but without having been spread out;” S2:22, 2:36, 4:97, 7:24,13:3,15;19, 20:53, 27:61 all these verses say the earth is flat. Assuming, Dr Naik is interpretation is better than Al-Jalalayn. Dr Naik made the picture of the earth with north and south pole flat and equator elongated to look like an egg placed horizontally (time 15:15) . Google the image of an egg or ostrich egg and compare his picture. Very deceiving, isn't he? An egg has almost pointed at one end and curved (rounded) at the opposite end and all who see his doctored picture are being fooled. S27:61 He Who made the earth for habitation, and placed rivers within it, and created mountains as anchors for it.. (see S15:19, S50:7, S13:3)Why ? Quran 21:31 says the mountains are solid S21:31” And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with them..” Kathir - Ibn Al Kathir (Is not He Who has made the earth as a fixed abode,) meaning, stable and stationary, so that it does not move or convulse, because if it were to do so, it would not be a good place for people to live on. Mountains are formed through tectonic plates forces or volcanism and not to stabilise (anchor) the earth. If the earth was oscillating during creation in a vacuum space, no amount of mountains can stabilise the earth. Check this out S27:88 “ And you see the mountains, you think them to be solid, and they shall pass away as the passing away of the cloud…” thus contradicting S21:31

Some of the Scientific facts mentioned in the Koran relates to Medicine & human physiology. Here is one: - "...He maketh their breast close and constricted, as if they had to climb up to the skies: thus doth Allah (heap) the penalty on those who refuse to believe"- Qur'an 6:125. What it means is, as you climb up to a higher altitude, the chest CONSTRICTS, due to lower atmospheric pressure. Here, Koran is describing the illness called 'altitude sickness' which modern science described only recently. Without X-rays, CT scanners, & other means of measurements, how did Qur'an know that, chest CONSTRICTS as you go up to a higher altitude? Doctors, Chest Physician must read the Qur'an , so that they can give the right advise to would-be mountain climbers, who will otherwise succumb or die of the dreaded illness called Altitude Sickness.

Altitude Sickness has been known about since the first person climbed a significant height up a mountain and experienced the physical effects. Unless you want to assert that nobody climbed mountains before Islam then clearly it has been known about for anywhere between thousands of years to the dawn of modern Homo Sapiens, 100,000 to 200,000 years ago, maybe even before that. One doesn't need to understand atmosphere and blood oxygen levels to feel a constriction of the chest, the shortness of breath, the headaches, or even death. People knew many of the things that science later defined empirically because they had bodily senses and could detect the _"thinning"_ of the air at high altitudes and the weakening effect it had on their bodies. Many scientific discoveries have roots in ancient chance discoveries; don't underestimate man's ability to discover even if he can't fully explain, or define it. The cure for malaria was first discovered by ancient tribes chewing the bark of the _Fever Tree_, or Quinine Tree. Greek philosophers Leucippus and Democritus first developed the concept of the atom in the 5th century B.C.E. Anything in the Qur'an that can be interpreted as _scientific_ was already known by thinkers across the planet at that time and before. Just accept the Qur'an for what it actually contains and stop inventing knowledge that isn't there. If it is the word of Allah then it is not your place to presume to better his words.

Samuel Vimes muslims have made contributions in mathematics and they saved a lot of important Western literature from being destroyed and translating it to Arabic, such as Aristotle’s work, which had been mainly absent during the dark ages. But the Qu’ran is not in any way scientific, and one must do a lot of mental gymnastics in order to fit scientific discoveries. Too bad Muslim scholars 1400 years ago didn't expand on the idea of sun being a lamp and the moon having borrowed light. They could used this to explain how the sun and the moon are two completely different things. The could've explained that the moon is just a rock that has relection just like all objects reflect the elctromeganitc radiation. While the sun could be producing its own light through "buring" oil aka fusion of its elements.

The idea of a sky isn't read as protective barior directly over earth. In the quran it's indicative of a separation between humans and angels. Furthermore, there are indications of there being multiple skies and above the highest one is where God resides.

tripleblast003 is Evolution observable ? Can you physically witness the change of an organism/animal into a different kind(species). No one can. Then it's just a belief and not a very concrete one, recently there have been many different alternative scientific theories about how life began but they just don't get talked about.

Yusuf Mir if you want to observe directly on the evolution of human, mammals, or birds etc, it won't happen since our lifespan are limited. but we can observe the "fingerprints" (aka fossils) that is left from ancient animals/plants/whatevs, then we can use comparative anatomy to make a roadmap on how they evolve. if you want to observe evolution in action, our only option is to see a gradual and small changes in animal/plants/insects/etc (microevolution) or you can observe some colony of bacteria gradually change into something that's more adapt to its new enviroment (go search on google or scholar google about e. coli long term experiment)

tripleblast003 The occactionn you have mentioned are caused from adaptation which could have a wide variety of reasons over the past millions of years. Furthermore the records of fossils is incomplete to say the best and almost completely unreliable (Would you use blood in a court case that has been contaminated over millions of years ?) that's also why it can't be proven that Humans have links with Apes. There is no way to physically observe change of Kinds which is what the definition of Darwinian Evolution is (Who by the way even said himself that his theory had missing links). The bottle line is thst it is impossible to witness the Change from one KIND of species to another, that is why the belief must be taken on faith (much like a religion itself)

Ans:--it is written in QURAN:--that:---The Angels asked to ALLAH S.W.T “Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood?” make it very likely that they were successors to some creatures who came before them and that there were creatures on earth before that who shed blood and spread mischief. Science believes in the cause and effect. According to science, every thing has a reason and that there is no coincidence, and so does the God says. In every Ayah of Quran ,where Allah is persuading the human about His Presence as a Creator , is accompanied with Rational scientific evidence or with the marvelous blessings(Surah Rehman). So Islam is not against the Science. It is a bad luck of Muslim ummah that we have disconnected the Religion from Science, Politics and Economics. and considered them two distinct poles that cannot merge into each other. The western culture doesn't want to merge them because of their pathetic catholic-protestant experience and the clash of civilization. Whereas our traditional Orthodox ulma are opposing it because of the lack of knowledge(Science-study-gap) to counter modern Science theories, contradicting with Islamic principles.

It is irrelevant is the Qu'ran compatible or incompatible, no book, a science one or any other kind of book is compatible or incompatible with sciences. But the experiments explained, the reasoning, the results, the data collected outside the book and written on the book is was what matter the most. To science, Qu'ran is just one book among others, it can not be used, the information there is in vain, perhaps studying the history it might have some value, but when it comes to sciences, it's old, rickety information about world, unusable.

I agree with you brother. That Allah doesnt use mathmatics or show information and data and calculations when Allah mentions scientific stuff. But in my opinion he doesnt really need to. One theory I have is that these verses were meant for the future generations meaning us. People in the 7th century could not have possible realised these verses but they had prophet Muhammad as an equilevant sign. Nowadays its all about science and since we have the studies and equipment to discover these things Allah just put words that would have been discovered years later. He could have shown the calculations and our science would probably have been 200 years more advanced but they probably still wouldnt understand the meaning of E=mc2 Ok im rambling but you get the point :)
