They are known as The Saboteurs in Australia because a band over here already had The Raconteurs for a name. I love this song. Jack White is brilliant.

Funny story: I visited a festival in The Netherlands a few years ago: Best Kept Secret. There will be some bands/artists with hits and/or a live reputation, but as the name suggests also some lesser known bands that you might not yet have heard of. It's always fun to discover new artists when they play live, which makes this our favourite festival. On the program list we saw The Raconteurs and I thought the name sounded familiar, but honestly I had no clue why or how. We decided to have a look, but the large tent was already crowded when we got there. So we decided to just find a spot under the trees outside (it was a pretty sunny and warm day) and just listen to the music. When the band played their fist song, I said to my gf: "Oh dear, we got somebody who desperately wants to sound like Jack White.". During the third song I got up and tried to get a bit closer for a quick glance at the stage. You can imagine how stupid I felt when I saw who was on stage... ;-)

This album is great and The Raconteur’s first album is truly fantastic. You mentioned Beatles …there’s a track on the first album “Hands” that not only reminded me of the Beatles but specifically, George.

You never know what to expect with Jack White. He is always pushing boundaries and doing things that seem totally original. Check out the Raconteurs performing "Consoler of the Lonely" or "Steady as She Goes" or "Salute Your Solution". They're all bangers...in different ways.

Brendan Benson doesn't seem to get enough credit. He's a great singer/songwriter and solo artist himself. But this particular Raconteurs album, Consolers of the Lonely, imo is one of the best rock albums of the last 15 years. Thanks Harri for reacting and thanks Ben for requesting this.

i 100% agree Tim, i really dont think they have ANY bad songs. I will be suggesting more of it in the future, to Harri. When i first tracked thru this album, i equated it to the first time i heard Zeppelins first album. So many goosebumps...

"Steady as She Goes" will move your ass. As will "Seven Nation Army". As will "Love is Blindness", Jack's contribution of The Great Gatsby. I'm not talking diarrhea either.

HIGH Harri.... Listen very carefully to every word in this master piece. Each verse is special like you've never heard before. Trust me Harri.... Bob Dylan... "It's Alright Ma, I'm Only Bleeding"
