I'm really glad I found this channel. I just moved back to my home state of Nebraska after ten years in the military. I've really missed seeing the corn fields grow and wither over the seasons. I don't know if I could ever be a farmer myself, but farmers are some of the most noble, honest, and overall decent human beings in the world. I wish you many more years of plentiful harvests.

I get that farming has changed but wow, my hat's of to you for mastering the amount of varied knowledge you have to have these days. It's a far cry from throwing a fish in with each corn kernel and keeping the plant watered. I had no idea that just running the storage plant you have was so complex, kudos to you for managing all that, the farm the family and still having the time and interest to make such an interesting and informative channel. Thanks for all your hard work and good luck with the harvest.

My family used to be huge Massey fans as well as Oliver fans, one farm in Kansas and one here in Minnesota but were both sold because they died and no one kept the farming going so I am planning on bringing farming back into my family when I get older here in Minnesota where I live (I am 13) and I live about 3 hours away from Jackson mn in rochester. I hope I can meet you one day here in the future. You are the one that brought the spark back into me bringing farming back to me which I thank you for.

I started up again yesterday as well. About 23% moisture. Actually loading trucks in the field today. Probably the only field I'll be able to do that though.

i recall as a young man learning how my grandmothers farm ran (1500 cows to tend) one spring my uncle said it’s time to clean silos; i asked why, there’s still alot of corn in them. he explained that if we fed them from the bottom of the sileage we would have drunken cows from the fermenting corn - and we sell milk not mash! live n learn... good video i can almost smell the, uh, dam!

Looks like you could use a cleaner as the corn comes out of the dryer. When I lived on the farm we used to feed it to a few hogs and man did they do well. My brothers sell their fines to a facility that blends it into their pelletized feed, provides an outlet for them.

Zack it’s called creamed corn in the supermarket in Australia and as cook is away I made a mistake and bought a tin . Won’t be doing that again, good idea drain holes in motor covers . Happy Harvesting from grain capital of W Australia
@Jako19876 жыл бұрын
You can use old (plastic) barrels top of electric motors. Maybe it can cover belts too so they don't get moisture. Some of our augers has plastic pipe covers from top to bottom. So they don't get moisture anywhere and our bins stay dry.
