MD, this was such a pleasure to watch from beginning to end. I am so glad you showed us everything and it was a lovely long video. The fish, the build the final result were so worth the time and of course your music at the end was the perfect accompaniment for a foggy wet Saturday afternoon. Thanks so much for posting.

Your vids have inspired me to dust off and rebuild my old 20 gallon. I lost my spark for tanks when my 55 gallon's sealant gave out. the mess was... catastrophic as i was away from home at the time, and it kind of... ruined the week. But I've already begun plotting an ecosystem tank. It's so nice to be excited for fish once again. to rediscover a passion i'd had crushed so completely at one point.

I'm not a big Rainbowfish Fan but you've done a great job of aqua-scaping there.. What you need now are some Hill Stream Loaches (the kind that cling to the rocks) And maybe a pair or three Flying Fox's as a clean-up crew.

Take the rod out & turn it around so the the holes will be at the back & ( behind the nuts instead of in front of them). Also trial if the nuts look better underneath & the bolt head on top, or possibly even place the lights at the front & angle down ? Just a thought. Love the vids keep them coming. Very inspirational !!

Tank looks amazing but you definitely want a lid!! I have a 6ft, 125 gallon of giant, 4"-4.5" boesemani and they are serious jumpers. If I didn't have a lid none of mine would have been around long enough to get this big. Just recently while I had the lids off to do maintenance I had a large male jump, bounce off my face, and land back in the tank.

Hey, i am a journeyman electrician. I really recommend filling the jagged holes the wires pass through with aquarium silicon, when it hardens it will act as a protective grommet. wire can actually vibrate a bit each time the current is turned on and off and could eventually create a bad short on that metal bar (over several years). The hard thing right next to the window is probably the studs that frame it in. you could just sink a #10 screw into it and it would ancor that pretty good. awesome setup though, i want to build something like this too.
