What about students racking up debt this year? It's insanity to forgive loans while issuing the same loans to the next generation.

@@link10909 Anger is a sin. Please let it go and be happy for your common man. They finally have a chance to breathe (albeit may be short and not enough). One can be against university greed but also be atleast happy that many amercians who have been burdened by student loan debt (i remember how miserable it was to pay off those loans) can finally have a moment of solace. Many of those people are working class and it misproportionally affects minorities. Be happy for them and also look at ways to make education cheaper for all.

My kid started college on Monday. They really are good at hiding, or pushing back the whole funding discussion, until the 11th hour, so that kid has already committed and is emotionally invested in going there. Then they want the parents to sign for loans, or whatever. Kid has scholarship for tuition, fortunately, but still has to borrow for dorms/food plan, etc. She did OK, but I am sure a lot of kids just go along with it anyway.

What people don’t understand is that you still end up paying for those student loans - in the form of low wages, higher inflation, etc. just like Dave Ramsey was saying. Wait...how are you going to be angry on the behalf of people who paid off their loans when YOU told them to do that??? My thing is people need to learn how to listen to their own selves and not financial gurus who guru over their own opinions. The real answer should have been pay something towards the loans and then save up the excess to put on the loans JUST IN CASE the loan forgiveness came thru. Sorry but this entire country has always been about the advancement of certain people in certain industries who use the rest of us as political pawns. The key is knowing how to make the game work in your favor the best way you know how.
