In my opinion, new ideas come and go. No need to ban it, if someone cannot compete against that particular method then find a new alternative that can 👍🎣

This method seems similar to wag+mag where years ago on the river Thames you'd fire out maggots and cast over the top to intersect chub coming of the bottom

I agree with what you have said I do it in a fashion Dicky Carr put me on it but need help on the feeding and setting up. Can you please do a video on it expecially the critical balance .

Hopefully you'll see I've tried to show it on one of my most recent vids Tony! Also followed up by using in a match.

Can of worms for sure. The thing about slow sinker is merely committing to it, you have to commit to it for the match IMO. So those that don't use it as a method feel that they don't want to commit to something they are unsure of. You are quite correct, if you don't like it and it is allowed, don't go to that match or don't use the method. It must not be forgotten that every match has to abide by the regulations of the match organiser and fishery, there is IMO a market at Albans for a non-slow sinker open match during the week, maybe even a silvers match, the question is - A - Is there someone that wants to run one? B - Will the fishery allow two mid-week open matches? For what it is worth, if there was a non-slow sinker match say on a Tuesday I would go for sure, and NOT that I'm particularly against the method. I feel you can pretty safely say though and during the summer months at Albans, if you don't use the slow sinker you most likely won't win the match or even get a place. Slow sinker is, however, sometimes beaten by a good waggler fisherman. TBH I'm more against dobbing/mugging than I am against slow sinker. If in doubt maybe have a vote at the beginning of every match (certainly feasible in weekly open matches) and if the majority say no to using it, it is only fair it isn't to be used during that match. Match fishing is a business ultimately to the fishery, and happy customers mean a busy match and the majority must reign supreme. In more 'serious' matches, say series matches and as long as the fishery don't mind, these things are subject solely to the match organiser/s decision IMO, and if you don't like it don't take part.

It's what match fishing is all about. Imagine if the method had been banned? Or the slider? Or the pole!!!!!
