There are also some impessive dragon animatronics in an abandoned park of China, named Jiulong amusement park. The park's name can litterally be translated into "nine dragon's land", and the most popular ride of this park is called 'underwater dragon palace'. It's a dark ride using system similar to disney's omnimover. It's totally built under a massive lake, and during the journey, guest would explore the Dragon Palace from Chinese mythology. The animatronics in this ride is made by A-V-G technologies, featureing multiple Chinese Dragons (or loongs in Chinese) twined on the collums, mermaids, fish ladies, and the Dragon King. The fish ladies and the dragon king have two faces, one is more similar to human being, while the other is similar to fish or dragons. There are two light modes in the palace scene, when the lights are brighter, those animatronics showed their friendly, human-like faces. Suddenly the lights turned off and switched to the dimmer mode, those animatronics would turn their head, and show the other face which looks creepier. The dragon at Excalibur is in really bad shape. It was stuck underwater for years as the moat flooded several times over the years. Unfortunately the skin of the dragon is practically gone and the mechanics are rusted. I don’t think there’s anything people can do to bring it out as it’s a lost cause and the area is off limits as the hotel doesn’t want people to know about it.

Actually it's in decent shape, I have about 15 pictures of it. Only the wheels on its base are rotted out, because that's how far it sat in the water. The eyes/mouth mechanisms look good, and most of its "skin" was a fiberglass shell.

It's literally not. The Excalibur dragon is in completely fixable condition the last time we seen it. It's the wizard Merlin that is close to unfixable. His head is missing and his cloak is hardly on anymore.but the worst thing that's happened with the dragon is the possibility of dry rot in the base and maybe some rust in the lower mechanisms

I saw the ones in RI in person on the last day! Even with limited motion/audio, they were impressive to see. The larger ones were 12-15ft tall! You can see it in the background of the clips in this video (even though it wasn't featured here), but there was even a Cthulu animatronic, because HP Lovecraft lived and wrote in Rhode Island. That one or the rainbow serpent were probably my favorites, however there were a couple animatronics that were very close to or practically in water, including the tentacles of a kraken, which were just a lovely little bit of submechanophobia sprinkled in

I recall frazzle! There is a Dragon anamtronic that is not here I also know. Ever heard of blackgang chine on the Isle of White? It had a dragon back in the 1990's maybe even earlier. There is now a dragon mark 2 at the entrance. The orginal used to guard fantasy land. You could activate it with a button.

I used to be so scared of the dragon at the Efteling when I was little. Used to try and push my parents along the path to get past it as fast as possible. But now I love that little guy to death! I always pause for a moment to give him a good look and appreciate him. I'm going back to the Efteling in less than 2 weeks and I can't wait to see him again!

The dragon made by Scare Factory looks extremely similar to another dragon animatronic you encounter at 5 Wits in my home city. It’s an interactive adventure/ escape room type of attraction, where you choose one of three adventure themes: an Egyptian tomb, a Medieval castle, or a spaceship. I wonder if Scare Factory worked with 5 Wits and made the dragon for them.

Ironicly at a mellow mushroom near me, there's these little kids' menus, and there's a dragon you can color named puff. It's got star eyes. I wonder if it was inspired by the animatronic, or maybe I'm just crazy

As a Dutch person seeing the dragon from De Efteling in a 'rare and unknown' video is crazy, haha. While the dragon at the Joris en de Draak coaster might be much larger, this is the far more iconic character and an early childhood memory for many generations. Since you stand really near to the dragon, it really towers over you and nearly hangs overhead when it lunges forward. It's always entertaining to just sit on a bench in this corner of the forest and watch little kids interact. I remember it being used in (non Efteling) music videos, and in the 2000s it was one of the main characters in an animated series based on the Fairy Tale Forest. The full name it goes by is Draak Lichtgeraakt, which means something like Dragon Short Fuse (literally Lightly Touched).

Hi! I dont know if you've heard of this one, but theres a dinner show in California near knotts berry farm themed around pirates. They used to have an extremely impressive dragon/serpent animatronic that emerged from the middle of the stage to attack the pirates ship. Hope you can find it ❤ awesome video.😊

Scarefactory is impressive with their animatronics and are pretty cool but they should not be bought from though if you are wanting props for your haunted house or park, because a 99% chance you will get scammed and not receive them. One of the reasons being is the boss is a gambling addict and has wasted a lot of money from their own company.

I am a haunted house actress and animatronic lover in Colorado so I've met Ed at Distortions a fair few times. Dude is so legit. He also makes a static mounted dragon head that spits fog!
