I got four of these OT's. Three are still in a drawer. All of them were near perfect with a little adjustment and a drop of oil. I have been using one since they first hit the stores.; roughly 6 weeks now. It has been a great knife. It has gone through hell and back in these past weeks. Only two touch up sharpening. I did find that after a little use, the minute bit of play has completely disappeared and it is now solid as a rock. I would take 15 of these OT's over a BM any day.

@@johnc7031, I have been carrying and using my two examples for the last couple of weeks. I have been very pleased with their ease of carry and performance. I have no problem saying this is easily the best $10.00 I have ever spent on a knife. Thanks for the feedback.

Outstanding review of this knife. I have two of these and I got them as soon as they came out. I did a short review of mine with my BENCHMADE BUGOUT 535 and clearly stated this ain't no BUGOUT but for $10.00 bucks you can't beat it. My review has almost 10,000 views now so I'm sure I convinced a few hundred people to buy one and I'm glad I did because they are worth every penny.

@royalhoward2882 , yep....Honestly, it is the absolutely best $10.00 knife I have ever reviewed. And you know exactly what I mean. IMO, it has performed more than adequately for its price point. And it is certainly a view generator. Even for my small channel.

It's a tough thing sometimes.....buyers remorse comes in all forms. But your Spyderco is a good knife. It just isn't a good "cheap" knife and that feels kinda wacky when there are good cheap knives out there.

Nice review! I think it's a pretty good knife for $10. Certainly no one who owns Bugout is going to be trading theirs in for one of these, but if you're not super-into knives, this would make a good backup knife, maybe even a primary if you're not planning on putting it to heavy duty use. I got a few when they came back online for a few hours, a couple for me and a couple for presents. All of them were in pretty decent shape out of the box, blades well-centered, just a little play in the blade that tightened up with a smidgen of adjustment on the pivot, and good action. I think if you use it as it was intended, an inexpensive cutting tool, you probably won't have any problems, unless you got a lemon out of the box (I've seen a few reviews where that seemed to happen). I don't think I'd count on ANY $10 knife as a primary for an important task, but as a backup/secondary that I don't really mind too much if it gets damaged/destroyed/lost, I think that it'll work fine.

I want one for hiking and camping, I don't like risking an expensive knife while I'm out. Last time I was camping I lost my sprint model Spyderco Manix 2. I realized it wasn't clipped to my pocket anymore so I had to walk around until I found it laying on the ground. Apparently I had bent over and my camera strap pulled it out of my pocket. I would be a lot less upset to lose a $10 knife. However those things are impossible to buy in my area, hence the rarest knife on earth is correct.

Have there been any tests on the steel? Is it actually D2 steel?
@BazonBlades18 күн бұрын
@tfwj69 , I'm sure there has been, but I don't know for sure. There have been numerous hardness tests, though, which line up with mass produced and HT'd D2.

I been keeping an eye out for it, but it's never in stock at my local Wal-Marts or online to ship to store for pickup, even though the sale page for it says "100+ bought since yesterday". Picked up the Ozark Trail spring assisted frame-lock wharncliffe for $7 while looking for the D2 axis-lock.

Did the exact same thing today, down to the alternative knife selection because I really did want a folding knife. The website said they had them in stock, but of course none were there. I was hoping a month after this craze started they would be back on the shelves, but nope. The $7 alternative knife is nice, but it's a two-handed open/close affair, and I was really looking forward to the slick open/close one-handed action.

Ok you displayed a lot of the kife that was great. What was not so great was all the nonsense put in saying you can't compare this to a $200 knife. But then you go onto say that $200 knife isn't worth $200. What a joke... So much flip flopping to say this isn't worth comparing to then go onto compare how this is actually a much better value. Come on get your logic together. It was just annoying listening to that.

People are buying this because of all the hype and then being disappointed that it’s not amazing or saying how good it is and it’s not. It is what it is. A 10 dollar Chinese utility knife. It’s not incredibly for doing its job and it’s not garbage for not being more. The attention it’s getting is undeserved and unnecessary. It’s not worth 20 or 40 it’s worth 10 bucks. @robotpicnic6508 , I'm sorry, but I can't agree with that assessment. After carrying and using my two examples this week, I find them to be excellent $10.00 knives. Certainly, they will never be anything more, but IMO, they are a good deal at $10.00 What exactly is wrong with your example? And if there is something wrong with your example, why not return it for a refund? Why feel regret over $10.00? Just take it back.
