The Rarest Shots in Snooker | Banana Shots

Actually, for me, the rarest shots in snooker are masse shots, but I know how much you like clickbait titles, so I couldn't resist :) Here are all the banana shots I could find.

The best banana shot ever, in my opinion, isn't here. The famous Jimmy White banana shot where the cue ball stops in an instant. First time I saw it it looked supernatural.

@@god124812 Thanks for trying to help but you clearly don't know the shot I'm talking about. It's a banana shot but the cue ball, after hitting the cushion and bouncing off at high speed almost instantly stops. Similar to the Trump shot against Barry Hawkins, but even more amazing in my opinion.

Not really , With a certain of amount of training in competition you understand that this shot can actually be pulled off there is a degree of coolness to the shot, however i wouldn't call it MADNESS or NUTS

​@@martinkuliza Madness is how i describe something i have never seen before and I have watched and played a lot of snooker. I have seen similar but not with so much white ball reaction it was NUTS look at Hawkins reaction and he is Ranked 9th in the world.

@@UKGBManny Fare enough i can respect all that, Only i don't see too much rarity here there are a few rarities but not much, the problem i have with this video is they are trying to depict as if the entire video is comprised of rare shots after this one i saw another it was something like most amazing pool shots ever and you see basic shit like someone doing a double off a cushion or snookering for position i guess it's you tube and they bullshit for the sake of comments and subs but all i'm saying is these video's overstate what is actually in the video

There is a fantastic shot by Alex Higgins to get out of a snooker. Swerves the cueball half the length of the table to hit the object ball directly. Can't seem to find it anymore. Glad to see Jimmy White in this compilation though. Thumbs up!

@2:53 i think is the best banana shot i've ever seen... because mostly we see a screw back making banana or cue ball follow up shot while it's going its natural top spin... but damn that was totally going bananas and nuts by jimmy white

Jimmy White was absolutely ahead of his time with some of the shots he played. Such a shame he never managed win any major titles.

In fact he did win 2 Majors: the Masters in 1984 plus the UK Championship in 1992. On the course of his career Jimmy has collected the trophies of 10 Ranking Events plus 14 Invitationals (Mark Selby for comparison: 20 + 4). He shouldn't be remembered just for losing his 6 World Championship finals -- it was a huge achievement reaching them in the first place!

idk if I'd call it rare it's just an effect that happens when you have top spin aka follow and you hit hard which makes the ball go off the tangent line more and the spin doesn't grab the cloth until further down the tangent line. I guess it's not common because you don't have to hit the ball that hard to get your leave all the time, and most of the time there's a better path to take from one object ball to another but sometimes it is needed. idk though it's just a shot that anyone could do with a little practice

I agree, These are not rare shots, sure they are cool and you do them when you must when you don't have an angle that you like, but certainly not rare I used to play competition, i was a B Grade Player Used to average 35 to 40 Points per shot i've commonly done these shots and i've seen other players commonly do them

It's not rare, just lots of topspin over a distance and you'll get this effect every time, for close shots topspin plus side.
