I'd like to see the bed on there as it is just for reference before it gets cut up. It also wouldn't hurt to have it longer in case you build something or need to haul out something longer than the FJ

If you look around the steering console of the dodge there will be a rectangle piece that can pop out. Shove a small flat head in the hole that appears from pulling it and you can shift out of gear. Almost every car has a spot like that near the shift lever. Also, broom squeegees work better if you push it instead of pulling it Shaun

Tow truck driver here ... In the late model ram trucks, there is a park lock release behind a panel that pops out just above the parking brake release. With a small screwdriver, unlock the red/orange strap then pull till it clicks. Now it's in neutral. The reverse puts in back in park. You're welcome. :)

Hey Paul I think that you should leave the bed as long as you can so you can get as much on it as you can that is a very good looking bed as it is so try to use as much as you can be cause the role back naturally has as long overhang as it is just look at it on the truck and look at it on your own truck and you will see what I mean thank you very much Charlie kretschmar Glendale Arizona

I don't think they have the wheelbase to support the full length, and I'm sure he wants it to be shorter for better maneuvering off road. he already has a regular rollback for fitting as much on as he can, sounds like this is gonna strictly be a FJ carrier, and to haul out the occasional side by side

22:30 Measure twice cut once!! .. Thanx for leaving in theses seances! .. Makes us feel better as we all do this! .. PLUS, makes us more cautious, mistakes like this working outside in the snow are much more annoying! I swapped 350 small block TH350 transmission an 4 bolt rear end.. ALL into a 1966 flat face chevy van ... all outside in the snow over one winter.. NOTHNG was designed to bolt in, but I made it all fit!! I had one rule, No outside work when it got below Zero Fahrenheit!! This is in Northern Canada, the snow was so deep for a month, I had to tunnel in to do work unde the van... and it was surprisingly warm in there with no wind and the torches cutting! :)

Way back in 1988, I bought a SuperDuty with that same dual tilt deck on it. That deck was the top of the line flatbed back then. You could haul 1 car on the dec and level the deck in the top locks and it looked normal. Then, if you hauled 2 cars you would tilt past level and use the lower locks leaving the deck tilted forward and load the second car on the wheel lift and tuck it under the tail of the deck. Doing that shortened your truck and moved the weight forward more than a standard flatbed. Realy cool seeing one in use again. That was a great truck once you got the hang of using it properly. Keep up the great content guys.

"Do a Rockford"...back in the day thats what me and my friends would call it when one of the guys would do that move in their junker. One friend did it in winter on a side street with cars parked on both sides of the road. He pull it off with about 6-8 inches clearance front and rear when he was totally sideways between the cars. Good times.

2 things: 1. You might have gotten yourself out of your donut attempt if you extended the bed back to get some better rear wheel traction. 2. instead of cutting a chunk out of the center of the bed would it be better to just cut it off the tail and cut a new tail once you make sure that it is long enough for anything you want to haul on it?

Had to do a rockford in my dish van when it stopped getting traction coming up the back road to kolob from hwy 14. The road wasnt wide enough to turn around without sliding off the cliff, so i backed up, cranked the wheel and the brakes and prayed!!! Lol worked perfectly! Ram really messed up when they decided to make the promaster front wheel drive!

You getting FREE truck super experienced, manufacturing level engineering for FREE. Ride height, weight bias, ride comfort - to bull strength spring ratios! .. All for free :) .. If you haven’t already chopped the rollback bed to shorten it, maybe it might be worthwhile to check some other things like a 4-door JK to make sure they fit. I have a 14’ deck trailer and it’s a little too short for a lot of vehicles, my Bronco II barely fits. An extra foot or two would make a huge difference. My advantage is if I pull the spare tire mount off the front of the deck of the trailer I can let the front of the vehicle hang over the tongue some, a rollback you don’t have that option. I know you said it’s mostly for SxS and your own use, but maybe something to consider?
