When you reach Rank 2, you finally get scouting on your light vehicle. Rank 1 are full of light vehicles so by default they should get a scouting but Gaijin said nope as just imagine in Rank 1 everyone will get ping on the map.

fun fact: german 75mm HEAT has a 12mm HE effect pen, so hitting turret roofs or the turret front near the hull roof is a really effective way if the plates are less than 12mm.

All Puma's were Recon vehicles. It's just that the 50mm model was too good and some crew thought they'd been given a tank killer. So Command started downgrading the guns so they'd keep to Recon instead of trying to shoot tanks.

2:47 it actually shines on open maps, as you can snipe from behind cover (like literally having the full tank behind cover) because of arcing shots, that also let you hit people behind cover, and rain rapidfire HEAT. In urban maps its very weak, with a lack of turret you are screwed if someone gets behind or to the sides of you, because you cannot react on time, and you also can not peek around corners to shoot, plus with the low velocity shell you can't make snapshot shots at passing vehicles; that and it is vulnerable to beeing MGed to death at close quarters. Also on the topic of open maps, it is one of pumas that works best at uptiers, as you can always lob HEAT at the tops of vehicles.

This is one of my favourite, I have the entire collection of pumas. This one actually does almost better at higher BRs, due to top down firing heat from concealed positions. PLay it at BR6+ for lulz. Once you get used to the HEAT you will lead and snipe like boss. Don't use the APHE unless side on and close up. Fire from behind cover and you are invulnerable. 234/3 is great from short or long range. The 20mm used to also be deadly in upteirs until they made 20mm useless. 234/4 long 75 is also amazing too and I play it around BR6 often.
