The old school parental advice of telling kids to go to school, work hard and get a good job is now archaic as dinosaurs.

You're late to the party. I entered college in 2002. By the time I got out all the jobs had been automated. The only job left that paid anything was to learn how to program the automation machines. Now they're about to automate that job too. The wealthy are gonna have to rethink their position or it's gonna get ugly.

HAHAAA ! No, it will still work. It just won't work going into debt for an education at some woke 4 yr university where you go into debt for courses like gender studies, and learning non work related subjects, while attending a dinosaur university with huge fix costs, campus, buildings etc. No, specific skills and courses will rule. Education vs cost will drive education upheaval. And unless you buy into this techno communism and go willingly like a sheep, life can still be good. Just remember, Sam Altman, Google CEO etc, all these tech billionaires are just the same as the days of Kings and Queens that desire power. Only now it is wrapped in cool tech with promises and dopamine producing distractions while they steal your future. Speaking of power, this fantasy future isn't going to happen with the power grid we currently have. Something major has to be done or we run into a crisis.

@@beerkegaard if AI is intelligent enough for general cases, than its also capable enough for the rare cases. And of course not everybody in the company will get laid off, but that doesnt help, because only the higher ups are safe, for the majority of agents its either starve or compete with the other people, who also lost their jobs thanks to AI, for the few remaining jobs left in the market.... and thats not a real solution, as much as its pains me to say, but we need more government intervention in THIS special or else the dystopian cyberpunk scenario will be more than just a fantasy

I am a DevOps engineer, but I've been tinkering in CAD for designing products. I also been doing car work and auto painting. I plan on designing my own racecar from scratch and this gives me the ability to give me alternative future career paths if AI somehow takes over my position. I know how it 'could' eventually, but in reality a lot of other people would lose their jobs before me.

This video is excellent content and about a year ago I started telling people I expected mass suicides - not just developers but EVERYONE. I had a strange experience maybe 10 years ago (near death), and since then started “prepping” including now I’m growing my own vegetables, bought real estate and bit coin , made real estate shared housing so I can plan ahead - went back to school to learn to code … and now ai came out and people don’t even understand that ai will move forward logarithmically. I tried explaining that as a former kindergarten teacher , the way the ai was learning was the indicator we are the next missing link. Of course, got lots of “shut up” “you’re annoying” “you’re stupid and ego maniac thinking just cuz you’re working on it you think it should matter to anyone” etc… it’s just all so strange

I would never recommend a young person to go into web/ui/ux design. I know several people with experience who have applied for jobs for over a year with not much success. It is very demoralizing for them. If it is really the one and only thing you want to do then I guess try it out but you've been warned. Tech industry is becoming more and more competitive and the artistic side of it the most. If you want to be a graphic designer then just focus on real life graphics (posters, news, houses, venues, etc)

This video was so out of touch, if you can listen to what you said and not realize how crazy it is, you need to seriously take a break from this. 1: You claim your framework could have helped this guy and everything you said was basic platitudes. 2: Practice mindfulness? You are talking straight out of your ass, I'm not going to explain this one. 3: You follow up by showing how great AI is at his job in the same video you talk about suicidal ideation for losing a career. Really? 4: He can just learn new skills? Does that not cost time and money? Things a lot of graphic designers don't have, not to mention, one skill doesn't equally translate to another in the digital art world. I stayed watching this channel for AI news, but I'm starting to question anything you've portrayed yourself as an authority on.

Aight. I gotta say BS. As a career designer AI is not taking design jobs yet. It's at best taking side hustle and bottom tier work. It's taking illustration work. Graphic design is way more than slapping an unclean vector image on a menu. It's not doing full layouts, company identity decks (with a full logo set, color palette, and typeface packs). It's not doing product packaging design, vehicle livery, museum displays, 50-700 page professional publishing, or templates for professional journals/magazines. Doing one-off flyers or a single logo for $100 doesn't make you a professional designer. That's like making a paper plane and saying you design aircraft.
