The wonderful thing about the rays is that due to the incredible state of the farm system, they have a constant stream of young talent coming to the big leagues. Now, young players are unproven of course….but this is the state the rays have perfected, staying competitive while subverting the rebuild because guys are constantly ready to step in. The rays will be fine next (as far as the regular season goes). Rasmussen and Springs will be back by, at the latest, July and hopefully give us that extra pitching depth that we lacked this year.

Always love your vids PB. I know you probably have a lot to cover in the off-season with the big FAs and 24 predictions and what not, but I think an interesting underrated topic is the Orioles current playoff window possibly being wasted by the owner. It's kinda crazy how a 101 win team got obliterated in the playoffs due to a lack of an ace and reliable pitching depth, and based on the owners track record, they don't seem to be setting up to make any big or even medium level free agent splashes.

Bradley is young has time and really good stuff! He will only get better with time and would be a good addition too this young rotation. I'd start him in BP and bring him along slowly.

The Rays are baseball's foremost moneyball team. No other organization gets as much out of its payroll dollar for dollar than do the Rays. If there was ever going to be sequel to the book and movie 'Moneyball', the Rays should be the subject of the book/movie.

You have absolutely no idea of how the Rays work. They never rebuild. Also. They have 2 or 3 members of their starting rotation coming back from injuries. Luke Raley and Josh Lowe are solid. They always retool the bullpen and it’s always one of the better ones. They also have several well regarded players ready to graduate to the majors. And pronounced E-Sock not I-zic. Do your homework. You obviously didn’t for this piece

“They never rebuild”. Did you not watch them miss the playoffs from 14-18 lol. Rebuilding is how they get to where they are. They lost their star shortstop, and they lost their best pitcher. Yes, pitchers are coming back from Tommy John this year great. Do you think they’re gonna come back and light up the world 🤦‍♂️ Tommy John specifically. I’m not saying the Rays are going to be bad next year. I’m saying RETOOL for next year. Because every team is gonna be getting better in the division, outside of Tampa. I’m not saying enter a rebuild and lose for several seasons. I’m saying retool, because 2024 is not their year.

The Rays are almost always doing some kind of retooling. I wouldn't be surprised if they traded Tyler Glasnow because of his salary and they probably only have him for 1 more year anyway. That's what they do frequently. They'll trade great players near the end of their contract. Glasnow is the only big name player I see them trading this offseason though and they will likely want at or near MLB ready talent in return though. I think they are still definitely planning on contending for a playoff spot next year either way. What will be really interesting is to see what happens with Franco. Sometime this offseason MLB is going to have to decide whether he's going to be allowed to play next season and if he's not they have to make it known that the Rays don't have to pay him like they did this year. His contract is so long though so it will be really interesting. Will they just slap him with a multi-year suspension like they did with Bauer or will they totally void his contract even though he hasn't officially been charged with any crimes? They have never voided a contract anywhere near that long before and if it's just a multi-year suspension or something that means the Rays will still end up getting stuck paying him a ton of money for a long time. And what if MLB says, "He was never charged with a crime and the investigation hasn't turned up enough evidence to prove the allegations are actually true. We can't suspend him at all. Especially after we suspended Bauer over what could have been someone just making false allegations and now we are getting backlash." What will Tampa do then? Play him? The allegations are so awful that his return would likely infuriate their fans. Trade him? Who's going to want to take all that baggage? The Rays don't have much money and he is by far the highest paid player in their teams history and they are stuck with that contract a long time. It's such a sticky situation. It's not like Felipe Vazquez where the allegations are about something that happened in this country and he was obviously guilty and getting arrested and going to prison. Franco's allegations are coming from someone in another country that has a different legal system and the fact that he has yet to be even charged with anything yet could very well mean he never gets charged? What are MLB and the Rays going to do? They can't let him back on the field if he's guilty but they also can't create a precedent where every fan in the world can end a players career by making up allegations if they didn't happen. That would start happening all the time. Imagine how many times a Red Sox fan or someone else would just start making stuff up about a Yankees player if they knew that's all it would take to ruin their career. So it's gotten to the point that allegations alone can't be the only hard evidence a crime was committed. So they really need to wait for a final resolution on him before they take away players paychecks. At the same time they can't tell Tampa Bay that they aren't allowed to play him but they still have to pay him. I honestly have no idea how that situation will turn out and considering he's their highest paid "star" what happens with him will likely play the biggest role in how the team gets built moving forward. I hope he didn't do any of those terrible things and if that's what happened they pretty much have to pay him and let him play. If he did do those things though they can never let him on an MLB field again and absolve Tampa Bay of any responsibility of paying him another cent. They've only got a few months to decide what they are going to do. The wrong decision could tarnish the game regardless of which decision it is.

I mean none of those markets are capable of supporting a MLB team but I bet all of them could put more fans in the seats then Tampa Bay doesn't! @op... The only players I feel worse for are the Athletics. The people of Tampa should be ashamed how little support they give this awesome team!

This year was really the Rays year to go deep. Losing Mclanahann, Springs and Rasmussen was just crap luck all around. Such a great hitting core on that team, wasted.

One thing is for sure, never count this team out. The problem they will have is the Orioles are much better then in the past and Red Sox and Yankees are done sucking and are willing to start writing checks again. Should be a fun division to watch for the next couple of years.

i recently started working for the buscuits in montgomery al i like it. but there is a person jason powell and his jesus city minions and a guy named fredo at madison ave circle k and randy yarbourgh and ej brophy who sending people to threaten me there without understanding they are professional players and it could cause a players union owners dispute if there is a player stoppage its jason powell jasmine webster jesus city congregation cris hot dogs danny clement s vito lore montgomery labor finders longhorn steakhouse and others who had problems with each other last year before i met them. it s not my fault if its a player stoppage. biscuits players have contracts they are professional baseball minor league players. i like baseball i like working around baseball. some just work there for food. i dont do that.

they keep talking about stds there and i dont have those the people complaing about the food at the stadium shouid have to get aids tested hpv tested etc....and should have to post world wide if they have postive tests or tell the biscuits because of jason powell who discards his cngregation and wont take in a biscuits game himself wiht his wife and children because people would see how he really is.
