Many thanks! One thing with respect to 2025 is those prices seem to have landed already. £6 for a _Planet of the Apes._ does seem a bit pricey even for famous sci-fi !? I shall be into my local tomorrow or Friday for a short survey!

Thanks for the tag! I think I did this one a few years ago. Most of our answers match up. Totally agree about keeping those spines uncracked!

@ It’s possible I didn’t do this tag in particular but have done tags with similar questions. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It gets difficult to keep track after a few years of doing them.

Fun video, I like Ben McEvoy, but he's a marmite character, so love him, but some hate him. He has excellent ideas. I do similarly to you , use the making system and run a notebook. If I want to really study a book, I will use removable tabs with the page number in the book referencing my notebook page. The annotations in the book are always in pencil.

Glad to hear pencil being deployed by your good self. I suppose paperbacks don't tend to last and publishers might be keen to produce new editions, so scrawling all over a book especially for college is understandable. But still. A course might evidently target just a few chapters, which leaves the rest of it potentially unread. Such is life however. Interesting how you have a centralised system of note taking. I would guess it is a useful assistant for teaching. Mr McEvoy is definitely an enthusiast...

@Richard.HistoryLit yes to all you say, and I like older books too. My notes are all dated too, so that it forms a journal of my reading and thoughts on it.

This is a terrific tag, Richard, and thank you for including me. I feel the same way about any used books I buy; I really try only to buy books described as in “very good” or “like new” condition. I also only write in pencil in books now, but that was not the case when I was still teaching. Thanks again for the tag! Merry Christmas to you too!

I'm glad you like the tag. I may be trying to over-think the questions but having a good mull over things can be an engaging process and time well spent... And there does appear lots of booktubers who have missed this one, I guess because it is from way back in 2012? If a good few of them do so there will be variation to reckon with, at least for the proverbial nosy-parker! with warm regards,
