@Glad Tzivel Thermal sentation isn't as simple as muscle nerves, because for muscle nerves, you only need one thick nerve to send electric signals throught the body, as for thermal sensation, you're skin is filled with thermoregulators that feel the temperature change around you, connecting the electric signals from those thermoregulators would be a hundred times harder than connecting muscle nerves or fingertip feeling.

why build the hand identical to that of a human.. make the elbow go backwards, fingers do a 360. you aren't limited to what a human can do, design your own human.
@zek42627 жыл бұрын
AL MAYYAHI yes they can do that but the brain isn't capable of that. if you had a robotic arm that can turn 360 degrees that would be like breaking your arm.
@gearcode19897 жыл бұрын
U can create new neural networks or making combinations where, if you use both your muscles for your fingers to one go up and the other one goes left/right it will turn the hand 360 degree. Something like our keyboard with CTRL + (any key), ALT + F4 etc...
@fl00fydragon7 жыл бұрын

+AL MAYYAHI Why build from synthetic materials, if we can make our genes grow any part of our body in the intended fashion? Look at axolotles - their limbs grow instead of the lost ones. Why not modify our genes to be able to grow any shape?
@bsq2phat7 жыл бұрын
i was just thinking, if they gave me one of those i'd probably see if i could make the hand do a 360 spin.which is why i wouldnt be a good candidate for it :-)

shhmh Oh a kid may like it until he is being made fun of. It would not matter what the arm could do, no kid likes to be look at as different or an out sider. Ask any child with a visible burn of scar. Most adults feel the same way, why do you think they spend so much time and money trying to make those limbs look as normal as possible. If I could get a limb that looks just like mine but is better in almost every way, I may go for it, but unless something awful happens to me I would rather no have that to worry about. Embracing looking different when you have to is one thing, but few would do it if for the hell of it.

SO basically this dude went through hell and back to get that done so in our current time we can all be one step closer to almost entirely re-making the experience of a limb that was lost to an accident or other tragedy. And on top of that remained perfectly positive throughout the entire experience, outpacing the researchers who built the arm. A++ For effort and enthusiasm
