23 years ago my boyfriend left me for a younger woman he met at some dive club, married her has a daughter and now they have been divorce for the last three years. He calls me all the time and today we are friends. I wish him well and hope for the best for him. He calls me to come and spend time with him and take care of him when he is sick but I am not interested in playing nurse maid. I am in my sixties and I take care of myself and feel great, I do not care to meet any man or be with one. I just put my trust in God and as long as I have health I am good, I feel bless. Its better to be alone then to be with bad company and that includes fake friends.

I'm turning 60 this coming April. I'm still single and I feel strange at doctors' offices. I see others with their spouses and think that would be nice to have. I remember seeing a man quite sick and his wife was massaging his back and arms. I just looked and thought wow, I've never had a woman rub my back and arms. Other than that, I'm ok being single. My father raised me to work, and my mother raised me to cook and pay my bills. I have a back scratcher, that's all I need.

He works full-time and spends a lot of time with his kids or friends on weekends...BUT...he sure comes in handy when it comes to fixing things , helping me when im sick, watching netflix/ eating pizza etc together . It's harder with cancer. Being alone after chemo. Chemo brain Feeling disoriented. Can't go to stores feeling like this for 3 weeks afterwards. I miss my car so bad. Mechanic kept ripping me off so I gave it away. Couldn't keep taking out loans. I miss my freedom. I always took care of myself. I got a abused dog from the shelter. She's spoiled. Handful. Keeps me busy. Gets me walking. People are back stabbers. I keep to myself. Always want something. Gossip. Don't need.

At 62, Ive been living alone for 7 years. After trying the dating cess pool, I think I'm better off alone. I would not mind a companion, but there are not many choices available. Most are inactive and not financially responsible. I'd rather just pay somebody to come do repairs for me around the house- they do it when it needs to be done and they leave when it's done so there's no drama or misguided expectations.

I am turning 60 in April. I have eliminated a lot of people from my life because they were not nice or supportive. I’ve also decided I would like to start making new friends. I am a nomad and am happy to live alone most of the time but can understand the need for companionship. I live full time in an RV and am not in same spot for long. I think that finding correct people is important but sometimes just having people to invite for dinner or hang out with is nice also. I dont need help from a man most times ( and have found there are a lot not capable of doing things -I can do most things better- unless it is heavy lifting). I have been alone since March of 2017 and am grateful to not have to support another man or person. Finding someone who is good on their own is important. Start by asking some people to come over for lite things, cuppa tea or snacks. Test out people. Then invite them for a meal.

Not having family, because they are deceased and you're the last one. Not having friends. Not having anyone when you need a medical driver or you are sick. Not having anyone to help you do the things you once could easily do but now have trouble accomplishing. Alone for holidays. No one to out to eat with, go to a park, picnic, Just always alone. No one to talk to who is like minded. We're not supposed to be this alone.

I've only recently discovered you and your videos. Yesterday as a matter of fact. This is only the 2nd one I've watched so far. The things you mention, I believe, are what many of us miss. Simple things come so much more in focus. I do feel much the same in regards to the freedom, alone time, space, etc. But I do often think of how great it would be to have someone around at times, especially for those times you mention. I think you are cool as shit, definitely not the "typical" woman in this age range...and that is meant as a compliment. Love the tats, the attitude, and your view on things and how you express it. I can tell you'd be a blast to hang out with. If I ever had another "partner" in any form or fashion, I would want her to be like you. You are definitely one of a kind dear lady. Sort of wish I was near Guatemala bcuz I'd love to meet you, lol. I'm a busted former 80s/90s rocker who retired as a New York State Corrections Officer in 2022 currently living in Myrtle Beach, SC. If you ever head back to Canada for a visit, you should make a pit stop here, lmao. Having a partner does not guarantee him doing jobs around the house. That he will be good company and want to watch what you watch. Might be in the pub instead of eating dinner with you. It has to be a great addition to your life otherwise you are much better being alone. Rather that than be in a bad relationship and being mistreated.

I had this experience recently too. I got ill about 6 weeks ago and I am still recovering. I ended up getting two illnesses one after the other including a fracture, meaning I can't drive until I am better. I'm used to being very independent doing everything for myself so it has been very difficult. I'm lucky that my mum has been helping me cope plus a few kind neighbours. For a while I liked the idea of getting good at DIY. But I agree with you. I much prefer it when men do those jobs and I can focus on doing other things. I would still really like a partner to be honest. I'm 41 and I tried dating again recently, but I always seem to encounter the same issues on dating apps, so I'm not quite sure. I look around me and see nice couples everywhere but I don't understand how they get together. It seems to be mostly luck to find a good male partner. Thanks for sharing Eva. I honestly think for the most part, most women love living alone. Especially if they have been married for years and the marriage was not successful so now they crave the freedom of living life on their terms. (That being said, if you get sick, it would be nice to have someone to take care of you and that is probably the biggest negative).

I'm 70, great shape, eat right walk. own my own place But to many years of heavy hwy construction, did it to my shoulders, both rebuilt. Hardest thing for me is folding laundry, it's at the wrong level painfull.Most of all things you said are to close, the companionship, the touch on the arm or back a hand in the hair, fixing, cooking all are needed by men and women. I love your ruggidnes, tatoo's, they way you talk. The fact you moved from Canada to South America by yourself is a feat there.I'm still looking and meeting but American women are afraid they will be required to be care givers to there friend, be there nurse. I joke when they say that, where's your DEATH CLOCK, I WANT ONE, who's to say you won't fall and break your pelvis and be chair bound. Old put to many negitive things in peoples minds and I believe they loose out on a lot of fun and happyness just being afraid to loose ? At this point in life most stuff is meaningless other then thing need to exist. Just keep looking good luck.

I cook and run the house and he does all that stuff. We split up in 2010 then I got breast cancer in 2017 and he was there for me. Our relationship has deepened. We still fight but now I know that it's normal when neither of two people are doormats. I thank God for Emilio. We both felt odd without the other. We talk a lot about politics. That would imply that your 26 year old daughter is living with you at your house. It's not my business to know which is really the case. But there is a big difference.

Iva, I live in a two-family house with my son, who was recently widowed, and six year-old grandson. So, though I'm not technically "alone", being a widow myself, I feel VERY alone. It IS different for men, absolutely! Having a husband, and, later, a fiance (now deceased also) was a HUGE plus. I DO want a man to do the things men should do..I don't want to do it, either. I'm NOT a feminist, either. I totally HATE the single life, I have to say it. I don't get women who say they LOVE being alone. Not me!! I'll never get used to it, no matter how old I get. It's true, it's not all about sex...it's SO much more. Sigh. I'm a Leo, and, I once read, "Life without love is like a plug without a socket for Leos". It's true. I really appreciate this video, and, your candor is SO very refreshing. Thank you for sharing...God bless. 🙏🏻 Rosemarie 🩷

Ohmygosh, I had to laugh when you said I CAN do it, I just don't fuckin' WANT to! Girrrl same! I'll be turning 60 in literally 12 days. I need shit done around here & like you, been downsizing & getting rid of shit because in the back of my head I don't want my family having to be bogged down by worrying wth they're gonna do with all my crap. I love that you have tattoo's & nose ring....I too have full sleeves, nose ring, labret, & tell it like it is, without giving AF! (that might be the Sagittarius in me tho)...anyway, I could go on and on, I just wanted to share real quick: I don't even know, nor do I want to know how to start a lawn mower! Haha, I've never mowed a lawn in my life! To me, it was always a man's job. But, I also busted my ass at GM for over 15 years lifting Eldorado doors when the suction cups and machinery were "down" before the repair men could get there, plus held them in place wilst securing them to the vehicle while the line never stopped! So, I know what ball busting work feels like. Been retired for about 10 years after working my entire life (2 cervical spine surgeries) so that took some real getting used to, it was depressing as hell. I feel I've slowly found my way & decided I really like this being alone & honestly it's freaking awesome. Sorry for the long comment, I have so much more to say! Haha! Not sure I understand why living alone after 60 would be any different than living alone when you are 30. As a single person, when I am sick I still have to go to the store for myself or take myself to the Dr., no matter what age. And as far as making a big pot of chili, I would just ask some friends over if I wanted to share. It sounds more like you want a love relationship although you weren't really saying that. On one hand you said you didn't want sex for the sake of sex but you weren't really saying you wanted a significant other. Regardless, I don't know what that has to do with being over 60 or any age. If you want someone, it doesnt matter whether you are 20, 60 or 90 and if you don't want someone, it doesnt matter what age either.

Thanx for watching! That's a lot to unpack in one comment 😅 I'll do my best. I don't remember having any of these feelings when I was 30 or 40 or 25. This is how I feel as a 62 year old woman. I guess i was indirectly talking about having a significant other to go through my senior years with. It would be nice to have that kind of companionship. Sorry I didn't make that quite clear. Yes, I've had friends over for dinner but that's not the same as having a special someone. Thanx again!!
@stephanie3506
@stephanie3506 3 күн бұрын
One big difference is that when you are 30 and under, you have many friends that are in the same stage of life as you and doing similar things. Therefore, they are more accessible and more plentiful. As you grow older people's lifestyles change. People marry, have kids, move away, die, etc.... By the time you're 60, you could literally be the only one in your friend group that is alive or in near proximity to have companionship.

I get it honey. I want to do lady things too, not repair the leaky damn sink. I have to google everything I try to fix. It’s always half assed, but I did try. Sad fact is, as much as we would like to have a nice man around for companionship and help with house issues, it’s probably not ever going to happen. We’ll always get screwed. Be careful getting a handyman though, they are casing you and your home. The last thing you want is him standing over you in the middle of the night.

It's funny the things that matter to different people. I love watching movies...alone. i hate sitting down to a movie with a guy. Either he's making annoying comments and talking throughout the film, or he falls asleep and snores during the movie. I rarely meet men who find films that I like interesting and vice versa. The only time I want to dine with someone is in a restaurant. I don't even like eating at cookouts or work/church/memorial meetings. Just makes me lose my appetite.
