I enjoy my "no filter" stage, but I tread lightly with it. I live by "just because I can doesn't mean I should". I try not to hurt or offend someone and keep in mind that the younger crowd isn't "there" yet. At our age we have the privilege to be shining examples and share our experienced views in a kind manner.

I too am 62 and I enjoy being retired. I am pretty direct and sometimes it takes people by surprise, especially here in Guatemala. I am married but I have a great husband who supports me and knows he is married to an independent woman.

I LOVE the independence of being on my own.I answer to no one.I want to start traveling but I need to learn how to do that alone. 3:54

Start by taking a little trip and plan your itinerary. You'll love it!

That’s one thing I don’t really agree with is the travel alone life pray about it first❤

Dude, you meet people in the departure lounge. It's insane! If you don't know how to chat and start conversations with strangers, learn. I grew up in London and there you learn to banter. Here in Spain it's unknown but I have started conversations on the train and often people pour out their hearts here. They're desperate to talk sometimes. Learn to chat to strangers.

Iva: AWESOME video..TYSM! I love your down to earth style/no filter. 🙂 I DON'T love being my age, but, I still thank God for every day. And, we have to feel gratitude for everything we do have. Im not much into makeup, either...I like being comfortable and authentic. Big hugs, girlfriend..love your content. 🩷 Rosemarie

Hi it's (love the spelling)' you are awesome, you're authentic and say it like it is. I'm 67 and I relate to all you speak about. I too live in another country, tried to have friends but i learned to just be courteous but I'm happier without the drama. Everything you speak is 100%true. Take care Iva.

Great video, I love the freedom of not worrying what others think of me now, I wasted too many years caring what others thought of me.

Like my husband often reminds me; "Aging is far better than the alternative"~ Amen to that! Great post, completely agree with every point covered here~ w/the time, freedom & increased compassion & patience being the top of the list for me, personally. I so appreciate having the time to cultivate relationships, truly being able to listen to people & discover who they are, where they've been, & what's important to them. I love having time to research things important to me, especially as it relates to aging healthfully & gracefully. Actually, today is my 59th b'day, so I find myself drawn to these titles which are popping up in my feed. What's funny is I've been a year ahead of myself since I turned 50~ not sure why, but it's been a funny thing I keep having to remind myself of. Can relate to the confidence aspect, & it's wonderful. I'm also quite comfortable with who I am as a mature woman, no longer feel the need to wear certain things~ like makeup or matching clothes~ & find a lot of pleasure & peace in "saying it out loud", whatever "it" may be. Very liberating to knock down some of those filters, imho. Enjoyed your list, new to the channel, good to meet you- so to speakSamantha in AZ
