I've been living here in Cuernavaca Morelos Mexico for many years and my rent for a 2 bedroom furnished apartment for about $400 USD with utilities included with a pool within walking distance to the center of the city. No need for AC here or heat 80 during the day and 60 at night with low humidity. Can also get a meal here for 3 or 4 dollars. So it sounds cheaper here and I've been to Pattaya Thailand many times and you can rent a pretty nice place with pool and gym for about $500 USD a month.

We stayed at a 4star hotel in Nha Trang for a month with amazing breakfast and seaview for about $600 with swimming pool and gym. We also spent mostly $500 for our food. We walked a lot along the boardwalks and took city buses. We can retire in Nha Trang easily. There is always an option in life. Be mindful and be happy 🍷

Rents have surely went up in the last 12 to 18 months. We rent a really nice furnished 2 bedroom/2bath in a high end building in District 7. Our rent was 13,500,000 on our last lease. Now, it is 16,500,000 on the new lease. That's a pretty big jump. We looked around and tried to find an apartment for a lower price that was equal to what we have now. We couldn't find anything at all that we liked. We've tried living in cheaper districts like D9, but for us the money you save isn't worth the boredom and inconvenience of it. We stayed in District 9 for 3 years btw.

I mean... My apartment in D7 (15 minutes from d1 city center) was about 300 usd all included (internet, parking, electricity, water etc). Sure, it didn't have a gym or pool, but I'm okey with saving that money..

@@Thomas-kw9je yeah, I mean if you're out partying or shopping in d1 every week then I guess it might be too far.. But D7 is big and the northern parts are very close to d1, like 15 minute ride, for me that is worth the extra travel time to just get out of the bad air, high price and super much traffic/people 😂
@steadylearner1
@steadylearner1 3 ай бұрын
Is D7 for the most part a walking distance from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. I'm a bit scared to ride the bike or motorbike around. I can take the bus or train for no more than 15 minutes during peak hours 8-9AM. Thanks.
@NiklasLarssonSeglarfan
@NiklasLarssonSeglarfan 3 ай бұрын
@@steadylearner1 hmm, seems they have the Uni at two different locations.. Neither is close from d7 unfortunately so it wouldn't be a good place to live if you're working/studying there, my ex lived near one of the locations and it was at least a 40 minute drive during daytime, with bus I would think several connections so probably a few hours 😂.. The other location is very close to D2 though, living in D2 (Thao dien) is very popular with expats, probably a bit higher rent and food cost, but very nice area and less hectic. And I would guess very simple to get a direct bus to the uni with little walking. But, in general Saigon is horrible for walking, would definitely recommend getting a motorbike. It will give you more freedom and save enormous amount of time.. And since sidewalks aren't really a thing it's probably not that much more dangerous than walking 😅

I have lived in Vietnam for a long time and finally found a very good apartment for super cheap. It is Vinhomes Grand Park in district 9. It is much BIGGER and nicer than the other vinhomes, IMO. I paid $400 a month for a fully furnished 1 bed room apartment. That price also includes wifi, a/c and parking. That $400 a month was a short term rental, so if I stayed there longer, it would have been even cheaper.. Food for both of us only cost less than $300 (eating at home and organic only). So $700 a month for 2 people.

He’s is spot on with these prices, the days are gone living in Saigon for a 1000, a month, sure u can do it, but your quality of life is not great. 1500 is needed, plus 500 for investing or putting aside for an emergency fund. 3-4 can have a really good time here.

In reality, the current prices in Saigon are still nothing to anyone from a 1st world country who lives in a major city like London, NY or LA…. You won’t get much for $2000 per month in London (where I live) and definitely not near the central /upmarket area of the city…. Can you also imagine the rent on an apartment overlooking Central Park in NY, which would probably be the equivalent of District 1 in Saigon…. 🙀 (edit = typo)

I searched but still might have missed it in your other videos, but how do you feel about the air quality in Saigon? I noticed that some days the internet says the air quality is at dangerous levels (like 300+aqi) but then it looks fine in your videos which makes me wonder how accurately it is reported. Is the air quality a major con to you? It seems like Saigon's air is much better than winter in Bangkok or Hanoi. Thank you for your videos - they have me excited for my move to SEA.

very informative and cost break down of each category. Lucky for me I can work remotely anywhere and can still manage my team across the world. In addition, I'm an active day trader so the time zone for Vietnam is the best for daytraders, especially during the opening of US stock exchanges. I just need to spend the first hour to do a quick hit and run, and call it a day after making $800 avg per day. My one concern is cash withdrawal. What is the daily limit and the fees? I want to see how convenient it is to make cash withdrawal whether daily, weekly, or monthly, with the least fees, and in the most convenient way.

Quality of life and stuffs in Saigon is the best in Vietnam. If you think Saigon is not the 1st world, just spend your time to have attentions around Most Luxury and Expensive Apartments to Houses to Buildings and Rich communities in Vietnam. Saigon has almost expensive stuffs in around the world. It has less billionaires, but it has very many (Dollar) Millionaires who live in both Saigon and Hanoi. The cheapest most luxury apartments/houses cost at least $1,000,000 and up to $5,000,000. The rich Vietnamese do not like very big or long cars like Limousine, why? When you live in Vietnam you will have the same feeling like in NYC or Tokyo.
