I love that Johnny shows the Trials and Tribulations of learning new tricks. It never goes away, that dirty learning curve. I see so many kids at the park just want instant gratification when they jump on a board. They see all these youtubers just showing the "Glammer Moments" of skateboarding. Makes it seem like everytime you touch a board and it's just Magic Happening Everywhere lol. Not the case. Even at Johnny's Level (Pro+) he still has trouble getting it right. Mind you, with his skill set he will get it 1000x faster then someone that is new to skateboarding, but still, he is in the trenches learning with the rest of us. He shows that part of his day and it is nice to see. "The Process", it's the same for all levels of Skaters and it cannot be ignored... The Process WILL make or break you ☠🤟 ALWAYS CLEAN YOUR PARK CLEAN... get ya ass kicked around here for that littering bullshit.

I respect the hustle. The secret to Kareem's ghetto bird is simply that the dude has insane ups. And also, his bank was steeper. The steeper the bank, the further your push out horizontally from take off point, which also means the further the drop. He naturally was going to have more air time. You'd need a few more inches of height and another half-second of air time to catch at and revert midair.

Nice editing! Felt smoother and entertaining Insane tricks btw, I smile when you say a ghetto bird as a hardflip back 180 is fake when it’s already a trick only 1% skater can do

@@gavinbaker3341 well but you see the foot positioning and the progression... I don’t know how much more there is to say haha I can’t do the trick but I’m learning like the tre-flip version and something that helps is when you think like scoop with your Blackfoot kinda like a shovit till it’s around 90 degrees then you hook your toes (or for the kiwi flip heel) on the edge and follow it up. Like the direction you see in the videos... maybe that helps for the kiwi flip too

@@ezufranzgrote5128 okay, and if you need help on tre flips to steezy them instead of the under flip just put your foot at about a 45° angle and scoop and turn your foot inwards like rotate it with your ankle and it should flip around and hit your front foot

@@gavinbaker3341 yee thanks! thats what im trying to do. It really is just a tre flip not much of a underflip, but as you do it only with the back foot some people dont count them. same with the Kiwi flip and laserflip haha

I remember first seeing one of these in 97/98 where someone rolled up fakie on a steep bank and did a fakie hard flip full late bake side 180 (the opposite spin as Kareem’s) and road away funny enough in a very fakie foot position. The cool thing was the company, which I don’t remember which one (maybe spitfire), who’s add it was was offering an amateur sponsorship. Someone did it within two or three months and they announced the winner. I was in love with these and spent about a year learning them over pyramid hips in probably 1999 or 2000 and I eventually did a nollie hard flip late backside 180 over the Everett, WA skatepark hip on Casino rd in probably 2002. It was the only one I ever landed and took about 5000 tries LOL

Kareen's revert actually happens mid-air, in fact don't think of it as a revert it's really more like helicopter, but Giger's version is also great

it's funny to see you on Day 2 land the first one with too late of a revert, then spend the next few tries focusing on that and blowing your hardflips. then it's the conversation skate back we all do where we're like "ok. do the f'n hardflip- THENNN spot it, catch it, spin. START spinning earlier.." etc. that's why i love your vids, if you watch really closely you can track your adjustments and it's awesome to see the progression. edit: next clip was the make- excellent. also thanks for picking up the trash!

The thing about that trick....if you watch Kareem do it, he's already rotating his body before the nollie hardflip starts...he knows it's going to Flip, you have to get ahead of the board..
