@@Jwt1983 the greatest heavyweight of all time beats any smaller weight division fighter though so is there really a greater MMA fighter than the heavyweight GOAT? None of us can pronounce all names correctly, don't worry about it :)

@@Jwt1983 no, that's your opinion on how it is judged, you confuse it with thinking you are speaking about it as a fact. I'm well aware of p4p but when it comes down to it this is mma fighting and mighty mouse would be crushed by Fedor in seconds, hence why UFC began as no weight classes and only introduced them for fighter safety. It's impossible to judge because smaller guys can often show more rounded skills as they often aren't at the mercy of a 1 punch KO that heavyweights always are. See how well rounded mighty mouse looks if he was in the cage with Fedor - not very..

Prime fedor was the baddest dude ever. If he was in his prime today, he would smash damn near every heavyweight in the UFC today cuz he was always focused on countering everything you throw at him cuz he is that intelligent.

Fedor was indeed something special I mean not only he was incredible inside the ring, but also his overall character and the way he carries himself as a person, an athlete and an example. Huge respect for him.

He never over-celebrated like the idiots today. Just raised his hand up and that's it. That's what I liked most about him. And he absolutely smashed people and put cocky fighters in their place.

Fedor was definitively the greatest of his time. The "his time" being critical. MMA is an evolving sport, and new fighters are completely different (especially heavyweights). Fedor would probably be crushed by Nganou or Aspinal.

I agree things evolve but I don't see any aspects to those guys skills that Fedor did not have and mostly far superior. I think UFC marketing hype is the key factor.

One could argue that Fedor didnt fight such speciemens. The heavyweights of Fedor era were much smaller and less powerful. It would have been interesting to see how well he would have fared against those freaks of nature.

@@theredstorm the heavyweights were bigger in Pride fc, no upper wight limit and Fedor beat people like Mir who themselves beat the physical freaks like Lesnar

Great video documenting Dana White's bias against Fedor. Newer fans that did not watch him fight live in his prime also seem rather clueless as to how great he was. The man was a beast and beat every single heavyweight considered as great at the time apart from Randy Couture, and I think we can mostly agree that Fedor definitely would have had the upper hand in that fight due to his hand speed. Randy struggled against fast punchers that he could not hold down and ground and pound. To me, Fedor definitely the greatest heavyweight of all time and perhaps even the greatest of all time, period.

Fedor was a very bad dude for sure. He had 0 fear and the best stare down in MMA still to this day in my opinion. Tyson has the best boxing stare down. Anytime me and my buddies talk about MMA fighters, Fedors name always comes up. His brother was a bad dude too but not like Fedor lol. In my mind Fedor is absolutely in the conversation of goat status. Brzenk is considered the goat in arm wrestling despite the sport evolving so the argument Fedor isnt in the goat convo just because the sport evolved doesn't make sense. I think Fedor would've went thru most the guys at ufc if not all of them

Exactly right, the best of any era would of course move with the times, so Fedor, the most dominant by far of any - I'm certain would have no issues if he were in his prime during this generation

@MattRhodesSport I agree. He had that intimidation factor like Mike Tyson had. Where they had their opponents beat before they even stepped into the ring. Prime Tyson and Fedor would have 0 problems in this generation I agree. Probably especially the new generation lol

Tyson fought Lewis for all the heavyweight titles the same year Fedor became Pride champion.. Tyson went to multiple fights of Fedor and has consistently said he's the 'real baddest man on the planet'

@@MattRhodesSport First of all, if someone sticks a mic in Tyson's face in the middle of his cocaine hysteria and he says a nice remark about Fedor, that doesn't mean twenty years later you get to pop up talking about he was afraid. When Fedor became known, Mike was losing multiple times, so it wasn't even about "the one man he feared" by 2004-2005. That ship had long since sailed and was no longer in sight.

@@MattRhodesSport Fact of the matter is that Tyson has spoken glowingly about any number of different fighters and I don't really see where there should be this abundant need to cast him as being in fear of these individuals. And to single one out who isn't even in the same sport and artificially cast him as a source of fear for Mike is just feverish.

@@gummixx6885 I'm not convinced, grand master in sambo skills then and now are the same, striking skills haven't changed, Judo black belt, ground and pound, endurance. The UFC heavyweight division has looked poor for a very very long time outside of the top 2 or 3 guys. Some of his opponents that he was far supeior than were having success In the UFC in the last 5 years..
