I could keep going and going. Yet you never hear them talk about any of this. I also want to add that these girls have never go to bible college. They aren't preachers.. priests or nuns. These girls go to wayside Chapel which is in the parish of the Uniting church of Australia. I looked up what it takes to start a ministry "The role of the laity is valued in the UCA, which recognises that ministry is a function of the entire church. However, "specified ministries" are defined.[22] Of these, the roles of elder and pastor are open to lay members. The church has two orders of ordained ministry: minister and deacon. When it is not possible (or desirable) to have an ordained minister, a lay preacher or lay ministry team may act in their place (similar to a Methodist local preacher). Lay preachers are required to participate in training and examinations conducted by each synod, and must be approved by the presbytery." These women have no training to be a proper ministry.

Yes my mother and father have traditional Christian families-my mother became pregnant with my older brother before they were married and when they were absolutely not ready for or considering marriage. They were pushed into a shotgun wedding. My father was an unemployed alcoholic at the time and my mother was also forced to move back home to a town she hated to get help with caring for kids. My dad is sober now and they love each other and have a very healthy marriage but they absolutely did not at the beginning and my mother suffered greatly because she wasn’t allowed to make any decision in her life due to her families values
@carolinacoreas77162 жыл бұрын
If I knew, as a fetus, that my parents would be abusive and my mom would make me feel like a burden to her, I would've self-aborted myself. At least then, my nerve endings aren't as well developed and I have no ability to form memories yet which protects me from the agony of living through abuse. I recall one time my mom and I got in an argument because she found out I was texting my at then boyfriend, it wasn't even anything bad, but she misinterpreted it as something sexual and she threatened to take me out of the school that I worked so hard to get into. That school was my only escape from her, so my life only belonged to her at the time. She told me how shitty of a daughter I was and how ungrateful I was and how I only make her mad. And I responded on impulse saying, "well if I piss you off so often, then why didn't you abort me? Or at least abandon me somewhere or put me up for adoption?" And she didn't have a response to that, she just ignored me and kept berating me. I get it's not something you typically ask a mom because you can end up really hurting their feelings, but with her, she's a narcissist and she would much rather antagonize me for saying that and use my insecurities against me. I couldn't care less if her feelings were hurt that day, because she did so much worse to me my entire life than I ever did to her in just one night. I was paranoid for a long time I'd become just like her, or that I can't be a mom in the future because I'm scared I'll become like her. But my sister made me feel better by telling me, "you're paranoid and worried and don't want to become like her, she lacks self awareness, you don't, that makes you better than her in many ways." So although I'm still not comfortable with the idea of ever having children, if I were to become a mother, I'd make sure I'm okay before I bring a life to the world. Because it isn't fair to me or to that child to undergo so much unnecessary pain. If people who are pro-life want me to think about the children, I'd tell them that I'd much rather have a healthy happy child when I am able to and when I want rather than bringing up a child who isn't able to have their mom fully there for them because they are battling their own internal battles. You can impact a child's life in such drastic ways, it is so much better to have a choice to have a child because it also gives future children the opportunity to become kind and empathetic people. Having a child when you're mentally ill just because other people unrelated to you tell you to most of the time only makes your mental health so much worse, and I wouldn't ever want my child to feel at fault for my failing mental health. For some lucky people, it could turn their life for the better, but that's not the reality for so many people who grew up poor, in marginalized communities, and/or with several mental health issues.

honestly my opinion is that faith, in a nutshell, is about being a better person. so if whatever faith you choose to believe in, if it helps you become a better person, then good job believe what you believe. to me there’s no “one” religion. like there isn’t a correct religion so while i believe in God, and i’m catholic, what girl defined is doing is NOT correct in any way. there’s something called evangelization in my religion, it means that you spread the word of God but also help people that already believe to grow in faith. if you evangelize you are sharing your religion to others that want or ask to learn about it, not pushing your religion on others. shaming others is not the “word of God” AND if you’re LGBTQ+ , and a christian, God loves you and accepts you. you can’t choose to be that way so obviously God made you that way for a reason, to be you. please don’t listen to these ignorant people such as girl defined. one of the main reasons i believe in God is because he loves everyone, and he wants you to love as well, it doesn’t matter if your gay or pan or bi or anything like that because he just wants you to be happy. God loves you just the way you are ❤️ (sorry if this was confusing i’m not good at explaining things)

Brenda is such a good person that I even get frustrated at how forgiving, kind and charitable she is to people like Girl Defined, who don't deserve that from her I think, but that just shows how committed she is to the core aspects of her religion (which is basically love your neighbor) in a way Girl Defined can't even dream to achieve.

I have one and ONLY one thing in common with Kristen and Bethany. We were born into a religious community. We never chose to be subscribed to it. People, them included, have a hard time rethinking anything that challenges what is comfortable to them. And for those two, they aren't just comfortable, they thrive in their community. They will never change. And when I see them, when I hear what they say, I can't help but feel like that could've been me just as easily. And I'm so glad I put in the time and effort to think for myself. They ARE organized religion and that will always be a dangerous thing.

That’s why I left the church. So many people bully and tear down others for their different beliefs or life paths, but then say, “Oh I can’t be a bad person, I’m a person of God”. Or they make you feel guilty for questioning different things within the religion. I have no problem of people being fully devoted to their religion, but questioning and reaching further for answers is how we grow as society. I hope they one day realize that.

In the Presbyterian church, I was always told to go forth into a world that tests your faith and challenge your own beliefs so that you become a strong Christian.
