Yes dress codes or the people who enforce them are usually more harshly forced on girls/women your arguments are valid not here to hate but it think that bullying is another reason but then again it could easily be corrupted

mackenzie leonard I totally understand where you’re coming from but I still think that it (the dress code) is a bit extreme and that they don’t clarify the right messages. I also think that it doesn’t help with an already very patrilineal society, where women have only gained their place in society as it is now primarily in the last 100 years, correct me of I’m wrong. At the same time I do see your point, and I don’t want to contradict or undermine it, but I feel like there is a better way to deal with bullying then a dress code

Her views on intimacy/sex makes me so uncomfortable. She reminds me of how my mom and ex stepdad believed, I was raised to be modest and innocent and to this day I have problems with the idea of sex because I feel like it wouldn’t be lady like and have a divide between discovering what I enjoy and being afraid to be in an actual relationship because I feel like I can’t be properly attached. Basically don’t raise your kids to think they should only be pure, innocent, and modest all of the time until marriage- especially if they’re female. It fucks them up.

Yeah the people who raise their kids like that just seem to think they'll just be able to get over it once they're married, as if being told your entire life that being "pure" and "modest" should be a key part of your identity and even the core of your worth as a person, and then being expected to go through something that get rid of that wouldn't be troubling at minimum and extremely distressing at worst, and these people are confused about that

When I was 12 I was catcalled and a man tried to take me into his car for “good time” . I was wearing my school track-pants a pink hoodie and a hijab and the guy was at least 40. I was so scared that I ran away and I didn’t have the guts to tell my mom. I’ve turned 15 yesterday and I still haven’t told nor will I want to. What she’s saying is just horrible and she’s making young girls and women feel like it’s they’re fault for being harassed by men.

Forces to suffer 8 miscarriages & 5 difficult pregnancies. All because she grew up being told the only way you can be a women is like what this woman says we should all be. "Men are all visual and never emotional creatures. I was really confused about my sexuality because of this, I thought something is wrong with me. But I just needed a very, very deep bond of love and friendship to start seeing someone in a sexual way and that doesn't change the fact that I'm a man.

I've been both the girl who barely wears anything and the girl who is ridiculously modest. Both were and are perfectly fine. I felt really comfortable and good about myself at both ends of the spectrum and in between. Where I land usually depends on fashion, practicality, comfort, and how I feel about my body. Plus, I was one of those kids that went through phases like crazy (another thing we should stop making fun of young ppl for) and it was so much damn fun. When you're young, that's a great time to get experimental because it's not going to impact a career or whatever and you can just go wild

Yes. 👏 let women wear what they want. Life is too short to be held back from what you feel comfortable in. I wear mostly button up and turtle necks, because I feel comfortable in them and because I get cold very easily. Just because I dress more modest, does not mean I’m going to hell at my friend for wearing a crop top. I think she looks great and she is comfortable. Of course if any guy looks at her the grossly I will punch him, but she’s dressing for her, and I’m dressing for me. And we’re both dressing for girls.
