I know that we hate about this but trust me, i think they can make the apple intelligence can be implemented to iPhone 13 and 14 or possible 12, because if you think abt it, The NPU of the A14 have the same speed with M1, and the A16 is like 35% faster than M1(M1 is 11 TFLOP), A16(A16 is 17 TFLOPS) But i think they can use swap memory on iPhones because why not implement it into iPhones, because when i tried an LLM, not SLM like llama 3(7B or 8B) it was running smoothly on M1, SLM i think is much smaller than LLM so it think it would fit in, but for apple intelligence stuff, i think its still good enough to run on A14 to A16 just fine

Besides de lack of performance of the neural engine in non pro 15 phones, the real killer is the fact that only the 15 pro's have 8gb of ram compared to the 6gb for base 15 and all others, so unfortunately a large language model like this just can't run with such little ram. That's why older ipads can run it because they have enough ram

But it dosent make any sense why M1 supports it and A16 and A15 won’t, cause A16 is based on M2 and A15 is based on M1, yet they’re not supported. There’s no freakin way that the A17 Pro is that much more powerful that the AI experience on it wouldn’t suck yet it would on A16 and A15, they’re also powerful as heck. And again 4 year old M1 chip based on old architecture supports it but 1 year old chip isn’t? Dosent make any sense. Like literally the neural engine in the old A14 is pretty much the exact same on M1. A15 and A16 have more powerful neural engines and yet they’re not supported.

I was thinking sort of the same as you are earlier, but someone else in this comments mentioned that it could be a RAM issue. The iPhone 15 pro series has 8 GB of RAM and anything below 8 GB won’t be able to run Apple intelligence as it will struggle. That’s why M1 Mac and iPad Supports it As they have the RAM needed . I’m still not 100% sure

I have a iPad mini 6 that has the A15 chip and I have the iPhone 12 that has the A14 chip which runs fast despite how old the iPhone 12 is so I’m not sure why Apple would only do Apple Intelligence for iPhone 15 pro and pro max & up when their iPhones from the iPhone 12 up to the iPhone 14 all chips are basically the same chips I’m just not understanding why they would not include Apple Intelligence for phones between the iPhone 12 up to the iPhone 16 that away more people are able to have the experience of having Ai on our phones and iPads .

Thanks for the video. =) This is coming from an long-time Apple user (since 2007). Its a scam. Nothing else. To get us to buy the latest phones. So they wanna make us believe that the AI stuff is all on the phone? Thats why you need the latest most powerful chipsets and much more RAM... Ok. So every phone has all the AI? Nothing is done on the Apple-server-side? So in theory you can put your iphone in flight mode and still use AI and all its features? When the most info about what you want AI to figure out is online anyways? I believe NOT. And if the AI is all on the phone, how are they going to charge us for it later down the road as they planned? Lock all the AI-features in an update and unlock it later just for paying users? (Like Samsung will do with their AI-features). Makes absolutely no sense. And no. I dont believe that RAM-thing either. Sorry. I think Apple has recently figured out that people can buy like an Iphone 13 and almost get the same experience like an iPhone 15 user, for way less money. And since Apple are making every phone last (at least the IOS part) for like 6-7 years, and been doing so for a long time now, they can not back down on those updates to make people buy new phones. People expect those updates when buying an iPhone today. And that is what the competition (Google, Samsung) is doing now as well. Promising many years of OS-updates on their phones. So Apple can not change that without losing customers. So they think of another plan. This AI-thing. We much implement it to keep up with the competition. But what if we say it needs the most recent powerful chipsets to run? Like only the latest chipset in our latest phones? That would do the trick... Bottom line. I think this AI-thing and making it only available for the newest phones is just for sales. If it was really about the chipset then the M1 in ipads and macbooks would not be enough either. Regardless of Apple claiming otherwise. At the end of the day. Dont forget that Apple is just another company. And companies exist to make money. Period. I bought 2 iphone 15s for my kids in january this year. And they are NOT getting Apple Intelligence since their phones are not good or powerful enough. Thank you Apple!!
