Pascal Vincent is an interesting hire! Some negativity about his style, but he cant be any worse than the guy he replaced in Columbus 😅 No worries about Hutson being ranked lower, he's been doubted his whole career so far! As for Roy, I'm not sure he is not a lock this year...more competition this camp.

I think that placing Hutson right after Becket Sennecke is a great compliment to Hutson. Sennecke is an AMAZING prospect who got picked third, and rightly so. I agree 100% with this ranking except for Logan Mailloux who will prove to be an amazing player

I like the move. Vincent has something to prove in terms of developing players, especially if he wants a chance at a future job in the NHL. I’m sure part of the process involved making it clear that they’re in the process of developing players.

The ownership management team and leadership of the Columbus organization has been pretty much a joke for the last 10 years. Can you really blame the head coach for trying to make his players play better or put in more effort in their work? I have no doubt that the head coaches in Columbus had very little if any support from the general manager at any point in time.

I have to say that I agree with some of the comments here today about Hutson. I just can't see an undersized d-man having a huge impact. He'll probably end up as a third pairing guy and a PP specialist. But Joshua Roy is the real deal. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him munching big minutes as a 2nd or 3rd line player who gets both PP and PK roles. And Mailloux will be better than most people expect. No clue about Vincent...but I hope he can help some of our second-tier prospects develop into legit NHLers. 👍
@raymondspruanceАй бұрын
Roy's skating limitations will always hamper his impact at the NHL level. For those who are so high on this prospect, just ask what Montreal could get for Roy , a presumed top 6 forward, in a trade. Could they get a first round choice? Certainly a second round pick. To put it in perspective, for Newhook, a clear cut second line player, Montreal paid both a first and second round picks. That's what dynamic skating brings. With Montreal already having Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, hopefully a healthy Dach, and Hewhook penciled in as top six forwards, with both Demidov and Hage arriving soon and with Hughes suggesting that he is prepared to enter into the free agency market to acquire one or two high scoring forwards, there will be no room for the skating challenged Roy. With Montreal having 3 first and and 3 second round choices over the next two years, the competition for Roy will only increase. If he can't make the two top lines, Roy isn't playing for Montreal. If Montreal could trade Roy for a second round pick, I don't think Hughes would hesitate.
@tonylloy327Ай бұрын

There's no questions around Vincent and the Blue Jackets. In the NHL, your job is to win. If your players aren't performing, then you take measures, if those measures don't work, then you take the next step and bench them. Columbus isn't a very good team at all, there has been a lot of mistakes made building the Jackets. Vincent was thrust into a bad situation, with Babcock unable to not be an a-hole, jerk, and someone without respect for his players. He didn't coach one game, and the assistant coach was thrust into it, and he was doing what he could to try to get the team into a winning position. I don't think Babcock would have been able to do much better, beyond his experience. The Blue Jackets weren't a contender, but Vincent ain't no Ducharme.
